I have stayed at many fine hotels, but this raises the bar far beyond any expectations. The hotel is unfathomably beautiful with art and decor that accentuates the old stone walls and the tile floors. The terrace has a breathtaking view of two volcanoes, one which irrupt every five or ten minutes. . The staff were helpful, friendly, and professional. And, they have the rare quality of making us feel special. her last evening, we asked to have dinner. We arrived at the appointed time to find a table in a courtyard with candles and rose petals, leading up to the table and spoon across the table. The food was amazing the special cocktail they prepared with ground, pumpkin seeds and rum , what is the revelation? I have never been so spoiled.

Well, I would normally talk about the few shortcomings found everywhere, honestly, there were none!

HIGHLY recommend Mestizo. This was the nicest hotel that we stayed at in Antigua and we (unfortunately) switched hotels 3 times during our stay. The hotel was extremely clean and nice. The staff was very accommodating, allowing us to get breakfast early before our tour, offering to fill our waters, giving us a welcome drink. The included breakfast was very tasty and fancy. The beds were so, so comfortable. We were truly talking about Mestizo for days after we left. It is right in the center of town, walking distance to everything in Antigua! Stay here!

The decor and atmosphere of the public spaces were wonderful. The staff were warm and friendly. The breakfast was very good as well. Location was quite convenient.

Our room was tiny, and had no air conditioner. There was one tiny fan and we asked for another one but didn't receive it. We noticed that the rooms all around us had portable AC units installed while we were there, but even if they had brought one to us, I'm not sure where they would have put it due to the small size of the room.

Beautiful hotel very close to the city center. I LOVED the staff (major shout out to Luisa and Estef for helping me with literally everything … booking tours, transportation etc.). Fantastic breakfast included!

Noisy(city sounds) but also thin walls (I could hear the neighbors). Typical of courtyard style hotels though so just bring earplugs and eye mask!Rooftop is nice but high walls block the view. Lame water pressure.

The warmth and charm of the entrance and interior patios drew me in to the property before I was even a registered guest. All of the unique alcoves and fountains cleverly located throughout the entrance had me interested in making a booking.

only one small thing, the room was very hot at night, however, they had a portable air conditioning unit which they helped me install after hours. Make sure you get your AC unit hooked up and ready to go when you check in. worked like a charm in my room was nice and cold.

The Mestizo was beautifully designed, comfortable, extremely well located for walking everywhere, with delicious breakfasts and a warm, kind staff. We had an amazing stay and would love to return.

This is extremely minor but to make the perfect even more so, perhaps a small stool or extra clothing hooks would be useful to some visitors. Still, the existing wardrobe was very well designed and spacious.

The hotel is just amazing. Small but beautiful, and with a lot of attention to detail. We loved it. The house has many spaces that are a pleasure to visit and the owners just a pleasure to deal with. It is also centrally located with plenty of "Antigua" around. We loved it.

Noise could be heard in the rooms, but it was minor. Can be a nuisance for light sleepers, though.

the rooms were far away from the streets which is a huge advantage over other hotels in Antigua because the roads are extremely noisy. The beds were so comfy and lux. They have a rooftop area for chilling and hammocks outside of rooms. The food is great. The staff is friendly. it’s safe - they close the gate at night with a security guard to let you in.

the deco and the staff are great, location is very good and they offer true parking not like other hotels in antigua breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfast i’ve had in antigua they are very friendly and offer a great service plus they have a hair salon in the hotel just in case

The room had a window into the courtyard which was noisy early and late. The stand alone AC meant the window had to stay open (or no AC) which made it louder still. The room was decent enough other than this.
