Very clean and comfortable and more than I was expecting in terms of room size and breakfast offerings, given the I expensive price. Excellent location for eating, shopping the central downtown area, and so convenient for the guided tour companies that pick up at Stop 8, which is in nearby landmark church parking lot. 15 minutes to a public pool/hot baths.

The room locks and main door lock at my building are noisier than typical. People lock their door when going to shared bathroom, so you might hear that a lot early or late at night. The staff you see at breakfast (maybe one person), does a good job at getting what needs to be done, done, but they don’t know answers questions that a receptionist would -ie, where is that commonly used nearby bus stop 8; how do you pay for public bus (an app).

Location is great, within 10-15 minute's walk of most of the areas of interest, almost all within a 30 minute walk. I was pleased to smell coffee our first morning; I didn't realize they had a Continental breakfast every day. It's simple; bread, cheeses, deli meat, some veggies, hard eggs. Our room was small and basic, but clean with a comfortable bed. Our room had a small sink, which is a plus given the shared bathroom. I really appreciated that the staff helped to favorably resolve a reservation/cancellation issue that b--king.com was no help with.

Hard boiling the eggs with about 50cc of salt per liter of water will make them easier to peel! ;-) We were without water one morning, so we went to breakfast and all was well afterwards.

Very clean room, good quality typical Nordic breakfast, I liked the atmosphere of the whole place. Comfortable bed, and the room was big enough for a single room at a budget accommodation. Check in took just a few seconds, only to tell my name and then get the keys. I stayed for a whole week, using Reykjavik as a base for exploring western and southern Iceland. The price was very affordable considering how expensive accommodation is in general in Reykjavik.

I do not have any complaints!

I had a fantastic stay at this guesthouse! It's perfectly located, close to the main attractions and the bus station, making it easy to explore the area. Despite being so central, the Guesthouse is situated on a quiet street, ensuring a peaceful night's sleep. The comfortable beds made my stay even more relaxing, and the good breakfast provided in the morning. The highlight, however, was the super nice staff—they were incredibly welcoming and always ready to help with anything I needed. Highly recommend staying here!

The bathroom was clean and well-maintained, though it was a bit to small.

Simple but practical accommodation in the city centre. Breakfast was delicious. The communal kitchen was well equipped and guests could cook their own meals after breakfast. The room was comfortable and spacious. The shared bathroom was very close to the rooms, luckily there were not too many rooms per bathroom so we never had to wait long. The whole accommodation was very clean, we would love to return in the future.

The soundproofing was not the best, you could hear everything from the corridor and from the upper floors. We couldn't sleep much in the morning because of this. In the bathroom the water pressure was sometimes not the best, so we had to wait a while because the water didn't come properly.

It was small and simple but perfectly formed. My keys were waiting for me and were easy to pick up and return as I arrived and left after hours. I just needed to go across the road and find my room. It was clean, quiet and everything I needed. A shared bathroom but again, clean and worked really well.

It was a little difficult to find my room the first night as I was looking for a door number but mine and the other rooms were contained within another door that just had Aurora on so I walked straight past. Apparently this is a common problem so maybe the door number range should be written on here too.

This was the 2nd time we stayed here, and last time we were in a separate building to our friends. This time I requested being in the same building, prefereably the main building, and we got neighbouring rooms in the main building. So big thumbs up for that. We were given 2 family rooms (2 singles and 2 bunks), rather than the double and twin that I'd booked, but that wasn't really a problem, the beds were comfy, the rooms were clean, and there was a wash basin in the room. The location is really conveniant for the centre of Reykjavik, and only a couple of minutes walk from Hallsgrimkirche

It would have been nice if there was a comforatble communal space - the combined reception/kitchen/breakfast room/communal space was a kind of basement conservatory, and it was functional, but not particularly comforatable.

A very friendly staff, located in the heart of Reykjavik, makes the place a very good option to stay. It has a shared kitchen and offers a good breakfast. We took the option of a double room with a shared bathroom; everything was in very good condition and clean. There was no noise during the night, something to keep in mind for families and people looking for a good rest after a long day. Bars, restaurants, supermarkets, and all kinds of shops are within walking distance.

We had a room that is accessed by stairs, it is always worth clarifying this at the time of booking. The building was undergoing some renovation work, but anyway, they kept the place in good, clean condition. Breakfast can get crowded at certain times.

I have stayed here once before, now we had a completely different accommodation, in one of the side buildings, in the basement area. Gladly this part only had two rooms and we shared only 2 days with 1-1 guest, the rest was only us. The facilities were perfect, though it was a bit cold at first. Breakfast is plenty, with limited variety, I really liked the fresh breads and the jams, be sure to try all of them. There is also a kitchen area and a bigger fridge.

No pain points really. There was an alarm for 5 minutes in our building a single night (somebody cooked something?) which was sorted out as one of the guests called in. The room was a bit dark to our tastes and initially it was cold, it took some time before it was warm there.

The Guesthouse is close to the city center and bus terminals. (BSI and Reykjavík terminals) Supermarkets and Pastry shops are close by. Sights are within walking distance. Closest meeting points for tours pick up are Bus stop 2 or 3. We stayed in a small room, but it had a queen size bad, a table, 3 chairs, a closet, shelves and a sink. Towels, soap, toilette paper and linen were provided. 3-4 rooms shared one batrhroom with a shower and a toilette. We were lucky, there was no one else on our floor during our stay. The breakfast had ham, cheese, boiled eggs, jams, nutella, liquid joghurt, butter, tomatoe, cucumber, milk, coffee, tea, cereals, apple and orange juice, various kinds of bread. It has a fully equipped kitchen, that you can use all day long. Complementary coffee and tea available all day long. You can leave your bag for free on the day of departure.

Nothing.
