Castlemaine House is located in a lovely little town at the top of the Dingle Peninsula. It is perfectly placed to stay for 2 nights so you can do both the Ring of Kerry and the DG. Myra is a wonderful host who communicated with us quickly and simply could not do enough for us during our stay. Our room was very comfortable with a great little bathroom with a good shower. There is a fabulous pub next door with friendly staff and great food. We were lucky enough to be there for live music on a Sunday evening. We are so very glad to have stayed here and highly recommend this B&B

Comfortable & very quiet. Appreciated having the TV, Kettle and facecloths . Enjoyed a couple drinks at the pub next door and there's a store across the way for snacks, drinks etc. Parking was easy and it was a great location after a day of exploring Kerry. Great base to head to Dingle the next day.

The only thing we didn't like was the hot water tap in the bathroom sink was just a trickle & took forever to warm up. However the shower pressure & temps were great.

Location was great in a small town. The owner who greeted us was very accommodating and nice, we loved our conversation about her pictures and family. The room was clean and had everything we needed to clean up. We ate at the pub next door for dinner and a few drinks and walked the town. Breakfast was really good and we enjoyed the experience. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit.

Myra, the host /owner was very welcoming. This classic B&B in an old building absolutely fit the bill, with cute gardens and rooms. Breakfast was excellent, and Myra was able to provide a full Irish breakfast gluten free. The pub/restaurant next door was also excellent.

Castlemaine is a very small village, a good spot on the way to or from Dingle peninsula but not a destination.

Myra was absolutely lovely, welcomed us on arrival and was very helpful with any queries we had. The rooms were super clean and beds were super comfortable, slept unbelievable well! Free parking available so it was very easy for us to stay there and visit friends locally for weekend. Would definately stay there again.

Location, host

Started sleeping at around 10PM and then around 11:30PM people above our floor arrived I guess and when they are walking in the room it was very loud and even the snoring sound was audible. They also got up very early in the morning and our sleep was very disturbed overall. I highly recommend doing something to soundproof these rooms.

This is wonderful 17th century manor house on the edge of a harbor with all the features of a luxury place but at reasonable price. This is a not to be missed accommodation. We travel a great deal for pleasure in a number of countries, and are in about 20 Bnbs a year. This is the only one that continue to return to. It is a rare place that simply should not be missed. Book it early as it tends to be filled.

Not a thing.

The breakfasts were cooked perfectly. It was a perfect location to have dinner at the local pub nearby. Moyra (probably spelt wrong) was a lovely host. She even did some clothes washing for us.

The only issue we had was there not being a lift to take our bags up. We did manage however.

The location was great for our one night stay. The bus stop is right at the Griffin Pub, which is right beside Castlemaine House. It was an excellent spot for dinner and the home cooked breakfast at Castlemaine the next morning was excellent and so appreciated.

Nothing to not like

Everything was absolutely as it should be for a B & B. No criticisms whatsoever and reasonably priced. Our Hosts were very friendly and helpful (we needed to book a taxi and they organised this for us without hesitation). They were generous with their considerations of our needs for travel times the following day. And, the bar/restaurant next-door was a lovely surprise - great, friendly staff; great choice of food; welcoming local people. Thank you Castemaine for proving to be a gold nugget! (You pay extra for breakfast but it was very good.)

Nothing. I've stayed in many B & B's and this is just what I would hope for!
