The guest house is amazing. Our rooms were very spacious and comfortable as were the bathrooms. There was a towel heater in the bathroom and the closet included bathrobes!! There were plentiful electrical outlets everywhere. The suite had abundant natural lighting. The owners Conor & Bridget take pride of ownership in so many details both large & small like the bowl of mints at the front counter. Conor provided guidance with our travel plans as well. There is a generous sized sunroom/common area with ample seating and room to gather with travel mates. There was tea, coffee, and an honor bar available in the guest lounge. As well as a library with books, DVD's etc. There was also an assortment of games and puzzles. There was lovely music playing in the lounge that added to the ambiance. There is also an adorable outdoor patio and the house is set in a beautiful natural setting in the woodlands on a river. A top-notch Breakfast was included in a bright breakfast room with endless fresh homemade delicious choices for both a continental & full irish breakfast made to order. It filled us up and held us over until supper after a long day of travelling.

The location is just a little bit far from the city center to be walking distance after dark. The only other thing that I felt could improve my stay would have been a magnified makeup mirror in the bathroom.

I don't often give a rating of 10, but Gleann Fia is truly exceptional - or, more accurately, the host Connor and hostess Bridget are truly exceptional. Right from the start they were warm, engaging and so helpful- happy to share their local knowledge and anxious to ensure that we had a great stay. The house itself has large rooms, filled with lovely old furniture - the lounge (where guests can help themselves to coffee and tea and can pay for alcoholic drinks on an honour system) is a delightful space to sit and relax at the end of the day. Breakfast is fantastic, with home-made bread and jam and a cooked breakfast to order. My room was very comfortable, with everything I needed.

It was hard to stop the water from the shower from flooding the entire bathroom floor because of the "walk-in" design.

A lovely house on a really quiet setting (no road traffic noise!!) & the lovely sound of the River Deenagh flowing alongside the boundary of the property Cosy, comfy & very clean throughout. Great space to chill out in the evenings with 2 rooms in which to sit & relax, read a book etc with as much complimentary tea/coffee & biscuits as you need 😀 Huge choice of breakfast options including an extremely tasty Full Irish Breakfast with homemade brown soda bread made with Macroom Brown Flour😋. Cereals, cheese, salami, fresh orange juice & fresh fruit salad.

Nothing to dislike about this property really!!

Very attractive & well appointed property in large grounds. Quiet and serene. Rooms were very comfortable. A comfortable lounge where tea/coffee was available round the clock and also a well equipped honour bar. Gave an opportunity to also interact with other guests. The breakfast was excellent and served in a beautifully appointed breakfast room. The hostess very kindly gifted us a bottle of her home made marmalade which we had really liked !

No tea/coffee making facilities provided in the rooms which is a bit disconcerting if you want your privacy while having your bed tea. One has to go down to the Lounge. The country home is bit of a distance away from the town centre and it's not really a comfortable or pleasant walk to the town. One probably needs to take a car.

We stayed at Gleann Fia Country House for three nights and it was by far the best hotel experience we had during our vacation in Ireland. Surrounded by nature, in a very quiet place a few kilometres away from the city centre of Killarney, Gleann Fia is the perfect location for touring around the ring of Kerry. The owners and the staff were extremely friendly and caring, and provided several tips that turned out to be useful during our stay. Breakfast was great: all the food was either homemade or locally sourced, while hot dishes were cooked to order. The house featured a cozy lounge area with a wide variety of drinks to choose from. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. An overall great experience, we felt at home the whole time!

I love that this place is only 15mins walking distance from Killarney town centre. It means that you can stay out on a little patch of peace and tranquility but can trot into the pubs and restaurants whenever you want. It has a tree-lined drive, a river running through a mini-woodland and an apiary. Plenty out-front parking. Bedrooms are clean and comfy with super comfortable beds. There’s an honour bar for night-time drinks, chats and reading, and a light-filled breakfast room with a delicious spread of local and home-made produce. Conor, Bridget and all the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly, and they always made sure I had the best of their local knowledge and safety advice since I was travelling alone. I wish I could’ve stayed longer. Hope to return sooner rather than later.

This is not a ‘dislike’, just something to be aware of. Returning to the BnB at night requires a taxi because even though the road is good, it’s not well lit, and revellers do be drunk. I was informed of this and given a local female taxi driver’s number by Conor, I could always get a lift within minutes, and it only cost 10e to return safely home in minutes. Well worth it. Recommend to all guests.

Conor and Brigid are wonderful hosts, they have invested a lot of love and effort in making a beautiful country house, and made sure guests were welcomed and have a comfortable stay. Gleann Fia Country House has set a very high standard for us to seek every time we look to book a regular hotel / BnB during vacations. We hope to be back again soon. We met incredible group of fellow travelers and made really good friends. Onsite EV charging points, honour bar system, plentiful of parking, sumptuous breakfast (home made breads, preserves) - these are some of the things that stood out for us.

The bedding felt a bit warm for the weather. But overall it was an exception stay.

The hospitality is unmatched! Conor was beyond helpful, helping us plan our stay and giving us tips for places to eat, stops to make, and things not to miss. Property is close to town but in a quiet little hamlet, with the river rushing outside of our window, and the birds chirping in the morning. Clean facilities, great breakfast, comfortable spots to relax, close to town, and endless things to do! Delightful place to stay.

Open shower, the floor had a slight slope so the water wanted to run towards the door. Felt the need to squeegee the water back toward the drain to help the floor dry out after showers.

The hosts make this sweet place absolutely shine! Genuine, kind and ready to do all they can to help their guests enjoy their stay and visit to Killarney. My room was lovely with high quality linens and a cozy authentic Killarney wool blanket. Falling asleep (and waking up) to the patter of rain was so peaceful. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, homemade jams, bread and yogurt. I had a full Irish that kept me fueled all day! The house is so welcoming and tastefully decorated with lounge areas and a self serve bar. The setting is rural, quiet and green along a pretty river. It would be amazing in the summer sunshine. I completely enjoyed my stay and sincerely thank Brigid and Conner for their exceptional service and warm hospitality!

I absolutely loved my stay so it’s hard to say anything negative but if you’re also a car-free traveler, just please note that the walk from town will take you about 25 minutes and a small section is along the side of the road without a walkway or lights. There’s no bus service and a taxi ride from town will cost you about 10 euros. By no means let this keep you from staying at this sweet gem! If you enjoy a pint or two at one of the wonderful Killarney pubs, ( I highly recommend Courtney’s) you shouldn’t be driving anyway! :)

This is a delightful property in a scenic location with the most gracious hosts. Straight away there is a sense of peace and tranquility, with the house nestled into the surrounding trees and the relaxing sounds of the large stream running through the grounds. Yet still having easy access to Killarney Town with its energetic vibe and plethora of.pubs and restaurants.. Gleann Fia is homely whilst being spacious and spotlessly clean. We were treated to a Delicious cooked.breakfast. and a great selection of fruit, yogurt and homemade granola. We had such a lovely chat with Bridget on the morning of.checkout, About our stay. We went out to party n Killarney Town for St Patrick's Day and found a taxi with ease to get us back safely in the wee hours. Visiting Dingle.for the parade was a highlight, I'd recommend a visit to the 15th century church in Dingle. To The famous South Pole Inn of Annascaul for.a late lunch which was reasonably priced and.quite tasty. A visit to Muckross Abbey ended our trip with a pleasant stroll and chance to.explore the well-preserved ruins.of the Abbey and its graveyard. I sincerely hope.to get a chance to visit again soon!

Would be nice to have tea facilities in the rooms as well as downstairs in the lounge.
