Location wise you cannot beat this hostel! Train station (Galway Ceant), Bus stop all are sooo very close. Right at the heart of the city centre, near the Eyre Square, every facility is within a walking distance. Staff: Very helpful, friendly and available 24x7. No matter who is at the desk! I misplaced my key card. The Staff was very kind to give me another one free of charge. If you ask then they will give you great hat tip to explore Galway and nearby attractions! Free walking tour, pub crawl and day trips can be booked through the Hostel which is great for a solo traveler. I left a parcel for my friend on the day of my check out. My friend collected the same after a week in good condition! I really liked their washroom toilet arrangement for a mixed dorm 12 bed set up [4 showers, 2 toilets (one with basin) and 2 wash basins for a common wash room area]! Other hostels can take a cue from that. I just wish it was more clean and maintained on regular basis. There is no lift but the staff can help you with the luggage! I just wish they had more variety in the breakfast.

Great breakfast and relax room. Staff very friendly and welcoming (even for a more mature person like myself- not just for young people!) I got a bottom bunk, with privacy curtain. Reasonable price, fantastic location across from the Square. A very light atmosphere, love the bright orange which accents the inside. Offered me a towel, other residents were very friendly. They have a dedicated toilet and shower room for 10 people and the 3 shower/change stalls and 3 toilets are all maintained so clean. They also kept my bag for a few hours while I went out after checkout. I would stay here again 100%.
I don’t think there’s a lift (correct me if I’m Wrong)- a man offered to help me with my bag and that was nice! I didn’t need it but someone might so if you have any mobility issues it might not be the place for you. Also just note it is above the bar and it’s not very loud but you can hear the music. It’s not a big issue.

The location is great. It is very convenient, if you arrive or depart by bus or train. In addition, all touristic sights in central Galway can be easily accessible by foot, and in the vicinity are also a lot of shops and a big shopping mall. In the hostel everything was very clean and tidy. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of foods you can chose from. Furthermore, there are complimentary snacks available in the afternoon, and the fruits, lemonade, tea and coffee are also available for free throughout the day. In the hostel it is also possible to reserve daily tours for a very competitive price. All in all, everything was fine here.

The staff is super friendly and helpful, there's always a smile for guests 😀 The rooms and bathrooms are clean and everyone seemed very respectful both in dormitories and common areas. The common space is amazing, there's a kitchen with everything you might need and a big table that's perfect to enjoy your meals while having a coat with other travelers. Cushions by the windows to sit back and relax are just great and there are books and games to play! Always water and tea available. I had my best time in Galway, will definitely come back!!
I'd have appreciated more shelves in the room and bathroom or hangers for clothes.

The location to Galway city and the train station is amazing. The staff were really friendly and they often do a lot of events in the hostel. I didn’t take part because I don’t drink and I was really tired. The bedroom was comfortable and the staff taking request of a bottom bunk they give you a towel which is really nice and you can rent a lot if you need to. There’s also an opportunity that if you talk to them early enough in the day they can do your washing for €10, it will probably take all day depending on how many other people want to do it.
The book the shower rooms and the separate toilet were too small. If you’re a big person I didn’t actually feel safe inside the shower. Thought I was going to slip over. They could do with being a little bit bigger to be honest. The shower itself was actually really easy to turn on and to adjust the temperature. There’s also separate level area within the shower bit that’s lockable because it is multi gender on the floor which is good, if you don’t like loud noises because there is a load of pubs in there area then don’t stay here because there is no

My stay at Galway City Hostel was excellent! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a lot of friendliness and hospitality by the staff. Everyone was extremely attentive and helpful, which made a big difference in my experience. The hostel's environment is cozy and well-organized, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable. The hostel's location is very convenient, making it easy to access the main tourist spots and transportation in the city. Additionally, the breakfast was good and well-varied. I highly recommend Galway City Hostel for those looking for a pleasant place with great value for money. I will definitely return at the next opportunity!

The staff were so kind and helpful! They always went above and beyond for me. Yes this hostel might be a little more expensive than another but every single sent you spend is worth it. The beds were so so comfortable and the rooms were spacious. Fantastic location near everything. Found myself walking out the door and wandering around and always finding something new and cool! Also so amazing that its by the bus and train station. Overall, highly recommend to any solo travelers in Galway.

I loved its proximity to the Galway Train, Bus Station and the Square. All the main attraction places are easy to access. Apart from that the staff is super sweet. They made sure my request to get a separate blanket was taken care of. Their breakfast spread is delicious and made with care. Evening tea from 4.30pm-5.30pm is on them with some crackers and cookies. They have pub crawls on Sundays and group dinners (all chargeable). The point is they think for their guests & ensure they have a good time.
They do their best to keep the rooms and toilets clean. But they can put in more effort in this bit.

Amazing location overviewing Eyre Square! Everything's only a short walk away from the hostel. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer, as the atmosphere in general was very welcoming and everyone was encouraged to spend time in the common rooms to meet new people. Different activities were planned throughout my stay (though I didn't partake in any), hot drinks and snacks are offered throughout the day and in the mornings you're welcome to join breakfast and chat with fellow travelers. Stayed in a girls only dorm, but imagine I would've felt just as safe in a mixed one as everyone was really nice. Spots to book trips are also just around the corner (Aran Islands, Cliffs,...) and so are pubs and shops and restaurants. There's a citylink office just down the street where you can book quick and reliable connections to your next stop, but the train station is also literally next door. All round wonderful stay, will be coming back!
Unfortunately, there is no elevator (that I could see), so luggage has to be carried up the stairs. Had the top bunk bed by the window and the curtains weren't put up high enough to block out the light.

Been a while since ive been out in the world since covid, just decided to go solo to a hostel and hope i'd have fun. Made great friends with other guests and staff and loved the pub crawl each night. I was unsure what it would be like just showing up and not knowing anybody, but it was like going to summer camp and being told "here are your friends for the night", and there they were and we all looked out for each other and had a great time. For a solo traveler just starting to get back out into the world, couldnt have gone better and i hope to go back again soon. Also SO close to the train station, literally stepped off the train and could see the hostel.
Both toilets on my floor (same level as the common area) were sometimes occupied so had to wait at times, but that is going to happen at busy times anywhere.
