Small cozy room at the inn, situated on top of the pub. Earplugs are highly recommended if you are a light sleeper, on certain days the events at the pub can run later in the evening. I used earplugs and had zero noise issues. Breakfast was excellent, offering a wide variety, including full and half Irish breakfast, porridge, eggs and avocado toast, etc. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The pub has excellent food, but is often very busy in the evening. Make sure to reserve a table on time, if you plan to have dinner there.

Being above a pub I was worried the noise would be bad late at night but it wasn’t. We could hear some noise but not what I expected. The hotel room was very clean! We had 4 staying in a room and had plenty of room to move around. The staff was very nice! The provided breakfast the next morning which we had to miss because we had to head back to Dublin airport before it was served. The staff told us about a 24 hour breakfast place a few doors down. The hotel was within walking distance to Quay Street and Latin Quarter of Galway - about 10-15 minute walk. There is a side door entrance into the hotel part so you don’t have to go through the pub coming and going. There was free parking behind the pub/hotel.

The beds weren’t very comfortable. You could feel the springs while laying on them.

Very central location without being very rowdy. Very easy to walk to other things, absolutely amazing that they had parking available! Really spectacular food and drinks, friendly staff, wonderful live music, and lots of storage for a small room. Exactly as advertised.

Loud- which I don’t really think is a negative. It’s above a pub, of course it is going to be loud. If that’s not cool with you, this isn’t the right stay for you. The bathroom is exactly as shown in pictures, which is to say incredibly small. One member of our traveling party is about 6 feet tall and had trouble sitting on the toilet because his knee either hit the sink or pushed open the door. I’m 5 feet and felt pretty comfortable, but for taller guests this may not be the right fit for you.

Really lovely friendly place to stay and have a drink in. A wonderful location a short walk into town but an interesting one and if needed to as we did on occasion a short cab ride away. A lovely sunny garden was a bonus. The staff were uber friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and conducive to a good stay. Love staying in a pub where you can enjoy a good night cap and for us during a bit of a "heatwave" so outside day and evening!

The only thing I found was the location of the bathroom in our room. Our daughters' bathroom was better located at the foot of the bed rather than the side.

Staff location food facilities all amazing it had a lovely friendly vibe

The only thing which wasn’t actually an issue was the noise from the live music in the bar, I feared we wouldn’t be able to get over to sleep as we could clearly hear it, but my worries were short lived when I woke in the morning and realised it hadn’t actually bothered me and I had a full nights sleep, (I am a mum of 4 adults/teens I can sleep through most things) in future I will plan to stay up until the music ends, you only live once!

The sliding rock is a very well located set of rooms at a lively pub. The staff were very polite and attentive. The location is right next to university hospital and National University Galway and 15 minutes to Galway bay and center city. The food is delicious and you can get breakfast included with your room. It's surprisingly quiet for an active pub and at the latest during the week it will be quiet at 23:00.

The rooms are a bit tight but acceptable for me. Occasionally it can be loud but it's uncommon. The dinner menu is only available from 17:00 to 17:30 in the winter for some reason then they stop serving food despite the bar being open to 23:30.

Location was great, about a 10 min walk to Latin quarter and it felt super safe for two girls walking at night. The staff was great always friendly and filled our waters every time we passed. The room was nice and clean and beds were comfy. Free parking was great. A few shops around the hotel were nice too. The pub downstairs was fun and great for when you want a drink but don’t wanna walk to the city center.

Couldn’t have helped the is but it was warmer than normal for June and they have no ac so we were SWEATY. The bathroom is teeny tiny and the shower didn’t drain well so by the time you finished a quick shower it was almost overflowing but we also never asked them to fix it.

The rooms were very efficient in their layout and so the bathroom facilities were a little cramped, but the shower was great. Also, the breakfast provided during the stay was wonderful. The rooms are over top the Sliding Rock Pub and we had an enjoyable evening there with the other patrons. Great atmosphere. We would stay there again.

The bathrooms are small and everything in the bathroom is close together, but the shower was good and so it all worked out. Not a big problem.

The breakfast included in the price was very good, a great choice and very decent portion size. The staff at breakfast were very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and easy to access from the main bar, also having its own entrance. Parking at rear of the property was free. It took ten minutes to walk along the canal route to get into Galway town.

The bed was a bit small and creaked every time you moved, but we are not a small couple so this is probably more to do with us! Main issue was the noise, you could hear everything downstairs in the bar and out in the hallway. This is a very old building though so not a reflection on the owners or staff.

The Sliding Rock Inn is 15 mins away from the city centre walking distance. we were staying in the family room with our 18 month old. the room was big enough for the three of us and very clean. staff was friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast and parking is included. Wednesday night was quiz night, so it was a bit noisy in the room until closing time. didn’t really bother us, after all it is a pub you’re staying in ;)

It would be nice to have something to hang up your towels in the bathroom and maybe some shelf in the shower where you can put your shower gel etc. it’s better to leave the windows closed while the kitchen is open ;)
