It was perfectly located in the centre of the town. The breakfast had a nice European selection. Room was a decent size with nice features such as a small covered balcony and historic window. The bathroom came with all the usual additions including hairdryer. Tea and coffee facilities in room. USB ports.

Only one issue I would say was that we arrived around 3.30. Check in was 3. Room wasnt ready and we were asked to come back in about half an hour. Nothing major but I feel generally check in times should be maintained when you are paying for a room and losing an hour when you have travelled and want to freshen up however we appreciate things happen and delays can occur.

This is a lovely hotel in the center of a charming area of the Citta Altà, and we were very pleased with our stay. The superior deluxe room was spacious and clean, with soothing colors and decor. The front desk personnel were friendly, professional, displayed an interest in insuring that our visit was memorable. The breakfast personnel were great as well, and very eager to make each visitor happy. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring all that Bergamo has to offer. Breakfast was delightful in the cozy breakfast area, with a great assortment of fresh and high quality offerings. All in all, we were very happy with our choice of hotel, and our three-night stay there, and would recommend the Gambit Hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

A few minor observations to note. The bathroom was smaller than expected, with a tight shower setup and an impractical sink layout that left little room to place toiletries, so it was a bit challenging getting ready each morning. Also, we would have appreciated the opportunity to order omelettes and/or scrambled eggs at breakfast, but they are not available as they lack a proper kitchen set up at this time (they are working to solve this issue). Instead there are hard boiled eggs, but those we took were often not cooked through so a little more monitoring is needed here.

This Hotel was a very pleasant surprise for us as we did not expect the hotel to have such modern and comfortable facilities in the old town of Bergamo, we did not want to stay in lower Bergamo, as a consequence we were prepared to forgo some comforts in order to stay in the Upper Town, the Gombit accomodation we decided on was above our expectations, modern, comfortable amazing size room and fantastic staff. We in fact have to say that this hotel was the best one we used during this four week travel through North of Italy and Paris.

Breakfast could have had a better offer, however it was not one of the things we look for first when we book into a hotel therefore it was not a big issue, gave us the reason to justify going to one of the many bars for our coffee and a treat every morning.

Very modern and stylish design. Spacious room with several seating areas and all well appointed. Shower was superb and everything worked as it should. Colour schemes were well thought through and blended with each other exceptionally well. The staff from start to finish could not have been more friendly or helpful and the location was absolutely perfect for the Citta Alta and its many restaurants and attractions.

Very little to dislike. Breakfast could have been a little more varied but that would be a very minor shortcoming. It was possible to have a nightcap at the hotel but it wasn't an obvious facility and in any case there are many very good bars nearby with a wide variety of drinks on offer.

The location was perfect! Directly in the heart of the Citta Alta - the main shops, restaurants and sites are literally steps away. Service was quite friendly and attentive. Some small issues, but the location makes up for it.

The room was quite small, and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Also, loud yelling from inebriated guests woke us up in the middle of both nights we were there. Breakfast was just ok. Arriving from the train station was a bit difficult. We couldn't get a taxi, so we had to take the bus and struggled a bit to wheel our luggage along the bumpy, cobbled streets. Not a big deal, but could be an issue for some.

It is a small hotel, but very well designed and with love to details. In the very center of the old town you can enjoy many restaurants, bars and museums close to the hotel. The staff is extremly helpful and friendly. I loved my stay and will come for sure again!!!

I would recommend to adjust a bit your breakfast: with simple things like eggs dishes. Its not a big deal, but by travelling with old people who are more traditional such small details become more obvious . They loved the hotel very much, especially the idea with a door code instead of an usual key card:) by the breakfast they missed only the eggs:)

Gorgeous old building, renovated with great attention to detail. Conveniently located right in the heart of the old town. Helpful staff.

Make sure you book a room that's facing the outer tree-lined courtyard. Ours was facing inner courtyard and was rather dark. Also, while the room itself was quite large, the layout was a bit odd, with the door opening right into the bed frame. Breakfast is good, but rather simple. Wished for more fresh veggie options and eggs (only hard boiled eggs, that were overcooked).

It was tricky to get to because we had a large SUV but it was doable. The parking was nearby.

There was nothing negative. Everyone was helpful and the hotel was charming.

pretty much everything. Perfect location , very friendly, polite, helpful and professional stuff. The gentlemen at the reception ( I think his name Max, maybe I am wrong, unfortunately I didn’t right down his name) was beyond helpful and knowledgeable, he gave us the best recommendations what to do and where to eat, and made reservations for us. The lady at the reception was also very very nice and professional. It was very pleasant stay, I hope we will be back.

The Gombit Hotel is one of the most exclusive hotels in Bergamo Alta and it is a truly lovely experience. Everything is on your doorstep and it is really easy to reach. Accommodation is excellent and so are the services offered and the helpfulness of Staff. We were on our honeymoon arranged by an excellent Italian organizer and Host throughout Italy over 18 days, amazing. The Gombit Hotel was the perfect fit for Bergamo, among all the other unique experiences. They also offer breakfast in your own room at no extra cost, which always makes for a special stay. Furthermore, they will release a Parking Pass that allows to park for free within the Residents' Parking Area nearby. We will definitely return.
