The staff were amazing! So helpful and polite. They brought us a wine cooler and served breakfast in the morning with a beautiful welcome and really positive energy. There was a nice range of items like fresh fruit and pastries with meats and cheese. The location is also brilliant! Right in the center of everything! Both still and sparking water in the room and coffee machine! Even thick bath gowns in the wardrobe - really thoughtful and luxurious. Very clean and the room was large and spacious.

We were in room 9 and the Wi-Fi was terrible. Couldn’t use the Wi-Fi for streaming as it kept buffering and dropping out. For a 4 star hotel I found the beds a little on the small size (I’m 5’10 or 178cm) and the mattress’ were a little uncomfortable. Also, we didn’t have a razor and I would expect the reception to have these small items available for a 4 star property. But these are certainly not deal breakers.

A very pleasant welcome by Staff. Position is excellent in the middle of Bergamo alta, close to all monuments, funicolare, restaurants. Hotel is situated in an old historic building, and rooms have all been renovated in a very functional and beautiful way. Rooms and bathrooms are very spacious. Rooms are quiet. Breakfast is abundant and good. We had a small problem with our AC unit and were offered immediately another room. I would not hesitate a minute to go back to Hotel Piazza Vecchia

Nothing to improve, it was an outstanding experience

Bergamo's walled upper town is a gem, and the hotel is on the narrow main street near the Cathedral. Location couldn't be better - you walk straight out from the front door into one of Italy's classic historical sites. The staff were very friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants, booking taxis etc. The hotel building is historic, the interior quite compact. The breakfasts were very good - delicious coffee.

Our second floor room looked out over the main street, quite lively on Saturday/Bank Holiday evenings. If this could be a problem, might be better to choose a room at the back. The shaded lamps in our bedroom were charming, but not much direct light to read by. WiFi a bit feeble in bedroom (stone walls?). But mostly, it was great: we were there for a week.

Loved the comfort and location of this small hotel, right in the old city of Bergamo. The staff greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. We were quite comfortable there, for the most part.

The only thing we didn't like was the street noise outside our window, particularly on Saturday night. (Our room was on the second floor above the main street.) The windows are modern, with double-glazing and so they kept out much of the sound. But the Saturday night crowd was a bit overwhelming.

Love love love this hotel, we booked standard double last minute and the quality of fittings and furnishings very high, the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Bathroom is modern with large shower. Bedroom was very good size with fridge, coffee machine and air con. Breakfast had a good range of fresh fruit and pastries also a selection of bread cheese and meats all very good quality. Views of mountains or streets depending on room choice. Very good interaction from check-in to check-out. Location is perfect. Would highly recommend.

Breakfast was good, the usual Italian fare. Location was spot on in the middle of the old town's main street. Very close to the action,shops, bars and restaurants. Make sure to walk to old ity walls, there were some amazing views.

We stayed Friday and Saturday night in March and could be a bit noise until midnight and beyond, but we were warned about this. It didn't effect our stay and would stay again.

The location is perfect for Italian food and wine lovers. The beds were very comfy and communication with the hotel was very professional. They also helped us to park the car in the garage nearby. The airport is just 20 minutes away.

On a Saturday night, you must be prepared for noisy partying outside. Unfortunately, the party lasted until 3 AM, and the windows did not stop the noise. As it was a business trip, the short sleep didn't help productivity the next morning.

The location was perfect, just in the heart of the citta alta of Bergamo, even it was in the city center, it was not noisy! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel didn't have a parking in the same building, but there was a parking 6min walking from the hotel. The staff from the hotel booked for us in advance a spot in the parking. Definitely highly recommended!

The room was a little bit warm and we couldn't put lower the temperature, but apart from that, was a perfect place to stay in Bergamo!

Absolutely everything! Quirky layout, great room with balcony and super views, authentic characteristics in the bedroom but lovely modern bathroom with powerful shower. Everything in the right place regarding sockets, mirrors etc. perfect location in the main thoroughfare through the old town and a few steps from the main square yet quiet at night. Staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful and provided a great continental breakfast.

Our room had a very small window and we were on the Main Street so you had to have the windows closed to sleep but the ac worked great so that was good. No view from the window as we were under the eaves
