My favorite part about our stay was definitely the attentiveness of the staff! I am a new wheelchair user, and this was my first time traveling with my walker and wheelchair, so originally I was quite nervous to travel. Before my trip, I emailed back and forth with the reception to clear some details. They arranged for me to have a shower chair, provided pictures of my room to make sure it would fit my needs, and answered any questions I had. upon arrival, it was like being greeted by old friends! Everyone at the hotel was so kind throughout our stay, and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and having a great holiday. We were often greeted by name, and asked about specifics from our day, they seemed really invested in providing us with a great experience. The hotel is also really centrally located, which made it easy to get around, and they helped us book several activities! The rooftop restaurant is also incredible, and worth spending time at. I would especially like to thank Alessia, Jessie, Daniele, and everyone I interacted with at reception for their attention and care. The staff in the restaurant were also all so incredibly accommodating and welcoming! I truly hope for the opportunity to visit Florence again so I can stay at this hotel!

I genuinely do not have a single complaint!! One note to mention to other wheelchair users is that the entrance to the reception is not 100% level, I was able to access it both when walking with my walker and when being pushed in my wheelchair quite easily, however it might pose a challenge to smaller wheeled electric chairs. I would recommend asking the staff to provide a picture of the entrance if you’re chair has smaller wheels, they will be incredibly helpful, and I know they’ll make your stay worth while!

The location was perfect, we really liked our room, the window coverings were brilliant for shutting out noise and light, so we slept very well, you were also left alone to enjoy your stay with no annoying daily room service wakeups.

We were a little disappointed with the roof top terrace, which was one of the main reasons for booking this hotel, during our 4 day stay it was mostly booked out for private parties, it would be better if residents were allowed to use the facilities they have paid for, for atleast an hour each evening, Once we finally booked a slot on the roof top for dinner, the night club type music and the inefficient staff let it down, there is an over reliance on one member of staff with the ipad seating app and not all staff were attentive.

nothing major, the rooms are a bit small for the expense. the crowd nose outside continues into the early morning hours, but the windows do a pretty good job of minimizing the disturbance

This property is outstanding. Location was perfect. Room was spotless, staff was polite, and the breakfast was excellent. The rooftop was so beautiful and so relaxing. We were so pleased with our stay, and would absolutely recommend it abd stay again ourselves.

The only small things I would change is: The room needs a new blow dryer. The one in the room weighs 5-10 lbs making it difficult to blow dry your hair. The water was always leaking outside the shower do you poor design. The bathroom needs a better garbage can. The one there is way to small and in a terrible spot.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Calimala! The location is excellent and we are so glad we splashed out to stay here a few nights. The room was lovely and come with a nespresso machine, slippers, toiletries, etc. Despite being in a busy area, the room was super quiet. Breakfast was excellent and one of the best we’ve had in Italy for some. We would definitely recommend paying extra to have it included. We took ours up to the roof terrace 1 morning and the views from there were amazing. A great selection and the option of Prosecco with breakfast too!

Getting there by car was tricky due to some road closures and construction right outside which meant no place to park up but the hotel took care of getting our luggage and arranging to take the car to a garage. Parking was pretty expensive at $25 a day but it certainly helped having somewhere where parking was an option.

we are in love with this hotel! it is by far the most beautiful and well decorated boutique hotel we’ve ever stayed in. it feels like you’re staying in an art gallery/palace! we got the suite with the balcony and we are so glad we paid a bit extra for the view! we loved sitting out at night and people watching. the hotel itself has absolutely everything you need - rooftop bar, gorgeous gym, and very kind and attentive staff. the room itself was perfect and the mini bar was a nice touch! we are already planning our trip next year and can’t wait to come back!

During our stay - unpleasant smell at the public area of the hotel - but it should be noted that the room was fine without any smell! To arrive with a car to the hotel is a bit challenging even when following hotel instructions (but after a while we manage to arrive, and the parking service provided by the hotel vendor is very efficient )

- The staff are very friendly and helpful - The environment of the restaurant is very comfy and the breakfast is very nice

- The shower is quite tricky. Need to keep pressing the button to let water come out from the smaller shower nozzle, also the water outflows all the time

Very friendly staff. Very helpful and informative. Wonderful breakfast, location wise and food wise (quality and variety). The room was beautiful, exceded my expectations. However, as you might read in other reviews, the noise issue is real. It didn’t bother us much because we were super tired and we stayed for only one night. To be clear, it wasn’t horrible, a little bit of noise if you are not too sensitive to noise it would be ok. Great location, in the heart of the city where all the shops and restaurants.

High caliber staff, very courteous, friendly, and extremely helpful towards guests queries. Noteworthy to say, we had one of the best experiences at Hotel Calimala, being at the heart of historic center in Firenzi, magnificent view by far, vibrant and harmonic ambiance in every ally, corner.
