I loved the room it was cosy and comfortable. Just the right size for me. There was a kettle for my herbal teas & everything was in working order. The staff welcomed me to the guesthouse and check in was efficient and smooth. I liked that I didn’t need to bring a key but there was a code to unlock the door. It made everything great!! I liked how there was shower wash in the shower too. I needed a taxi and the staff helped me with it :) and they gave me an adaptor plug for my phone for the stay!!

The mosquitos that were found in the room. Only a few but I have the bites from them !! Can’t be controlled really.

I love the old feel of this building. Cristiano was a wonderful host. Very friendly, helpful and informative. Our room was spacious and we had a nice patio with furniture on it, although we were there in July and after a day travelling around Firenze in the heat, we did not want to sit outside in the evening.

My wish list would include an iron in each room or at least more of them to lend out to guests. A full length mirror attached to the back of the bathroom door would also be a nice touch.

We had a double room on the ground floor and it was very spacious, including the bathroom and shower. (There was finally room to move, as compared to other hotels we've stayed in during our trip). The room was clean, the bed was large with a firm mattress. We were able to adjust the temperature in the room with the thermostat, which was much appreciated. (This is another thing we were not able to do in other hotels we stayed at.) We also had a small private patio, but we never used it (rainy during much of our stay). Another plus - there was an extra set of pillows in the wardrobe in our room. The location of the hotel is very reasonable - close to many sights, but not too busy or noisy. We walked everywhere we went, including to/from the train station (about 20 min) with our bags. Duomo is about 10 min, David is about 7 min, Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio are a little farther away, but walkable. The hotel itself is on a fairly quiet street - there's not a lot of action right there. Breakfast was included, and we felt it was a nice selection of items. Appreciated the fresh fruit options. I initially booked a 3-night stay here, and subsequently needed to add on 2 more nights. The hotel (Roland) was able to do that for me, even though it appeared on Booking.com that they did not have availability for the additional nights.

A minor issue, but some of the pictures on the website didn't seem to match what we saw in person, so my expectations were a little thrown off. I had trouble using a hairdryer in the bathroom (both the hotel's provided hairdryer in the bathroom and the dual voltage one I brought myself with an adapter). This was an issue in many of the hotels I stayed in (not just Hotel Morandi) - I believe it has to do with wiring codes for bathrooms. I could get the hairdryer to work in the bedroom, but there wasn't a mirror handy. When I asked the staff about this, Cristiano quickly solved the problem by getting me a stand along mirror, which was very appreciated.

The host was very accommodating. He gave us recommendations as to where to eat and pointed out the highlights of Florence. the room was bigger than expected and was able to house two large suitcases plus our carry-ons. He allowed us to store our luggage after checkout. We would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Florence!

Our room overlooked the courtyard which appeared to be under construction. This is a very minor thing, and didn't bother us.

My husband and I loved everything about this hotel. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and the whole hotel was exceptionally clean. Our lasting impression was the truly fabulous staff - everyone we met was unbelievably helpful and exceptionally knowledgeable about the area and attractions. Maurizio and Christiano recommended several ideas for our stay which we acted on and loved (including the nearby ruins at Fiesole).

Nothing - everything was excellent with our stay. However, we have heard the hotel may be closing which is a shame as we definitely would have returned! We are confident that staff as excellent as this group will have no trouble finding other jobs and hopefully we will be lucky enough to bump into them again.

Perfect little hotel 10 minute walk from The Duomo and the old town in Florence. The staff were very friendly and the hotel a a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Florence. The breakfast was also very good indeed and served at your table rather than a buffet which I prefer. The hotel is decorated in a classic style which again was perfect for the stay in a very classic city.

If you are travelling by car it cam be expensive to park. It cost us 54€ for two days. However, this has nothing to do with the hotel as cars driven by non residents are not allowed in the centre.

Overall, the website description was accurate. The hotel had a lot of charm and breakfast was wonderful. The staff was great, very helpful answering questions, recommending restaurants and addressing all of our needs. Location was good. I would go back again.

The furniture looked a little worn. The room that we were in had a very small shower. I am not sure how the other rooms were. I'm a small person and I had a hard time moving in it. Can't imagine a larger person trying to shower. We were there for 4 nights and the shower was a challenge.

It is fair to say that Morandi alla Crocetta has been the best hotel I have stayed in for a long time. From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left my experience of this comfortable, cosy hotel was wonderful. Cristiano, Roland and the other lovely gentleman, whose name I did not get - were so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely, pastries and the choice of cooked breakfast or cold slices, coffee and cakes. My room was just so lovely - really spacious, comfortable furniture, armchair... The bed was awsome - I slept like a baby. This hotel ticked every box for me and I would have no hesitation in staying here again. It made my trip!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! From the moment we arrived we felt like special guests. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. We were given excellent restaurant and shopping recommendations. The hotel was immaculate, beautiful and had a Florentine design with its antique furnishings and paintings. We asked for two single beds which was perfect. The beds and linens were very comfortable. Our room was spacious and had cozy sofa and a pretty view onto our private patio. The generous and delicious breakfast was served in a pretty dining room with table clothes and a leafy view onto a courtyard. The cafe lattes were perfectly prepared and breakfast included eggs, ham, bacon, fresh juices, various breads and croissants, cakes, fruits and more. The location of the hotel was very safe and quiet, nestled near a large piazza and the Duomo a 2 minute walk away. Thank you staff of the Hotel Morandi alla Crocetta for the 5 star treatment!

Our room was comfortable kettle and tea / coffee provided. Very quiet room even though we were overlooking the Via Laura street. Breakfast was served by staff in a very pleasant room near reception. Scrambled eggs and bacon on offer if you wanted plus a good selection of fruit and yoghurts rolls and croissants, and cakes. Staff helpful, Roland booked the restaurant for us when we arrived for our first night. Also will call the taxi if you need one. We were going to the station train and the taxi arrived within 5minutes. A good location just a couple of minutes to get to the Archaeological museum and Santa Annunziata church set on a large piazza which had a market on the Sunday. Easy walking distance for most attractions.

Shower was small may have been a problem for larger people.
