This was my first time staying in a hostel and it exceeded my expectations. The staff were really nice. Those at the reception, the girls serving breakfast and the staff who also maintains the cleanliness of our room. It was fun. There were events every night where you could participate in. There’s also a bar at the ground floor serving food and drinks. Location is perfect! 3mins walk from the train station and a few mins away from Acquario di Genova riding the no. 35 bus. There’s also a spot near the hostel with a panoramic view. 🤭 Breakfast is also good. I ate focaccia with prosciutto 😍

- I didn’t like the mattress because it’s a bit hard plus it creaks whenever i move. - The pillow as well. It’s too low. There’s only 1 pillow, they could have added another one.

I liked the submarine theme of the hotel and complimentary beer at arrival were a pleasant surprise. The bar and breakfast were good. Good selection of beers on tap and a wide variety of snacks throughout the day. I also appreciated the option to have a breakfast to go. The fact that that the hotel is just by the train station also helped. Staff was super friendly.

Sometimes the events hosted in the common area of the hotel would get a bit too loud and you could hear them in the room, which didn't personally matter to me since I like to sleep with earplugs, but someone could be bothered by the sounds. Also having to use a code for the elevator after certain hours was annoying, but I understand the reason.

Nice spacious room, Good tasteful basic food, diner as well as breakfast Nice people working there Well situated. When we return we will choose it again without hesitation.

The shower is a little cramped; Breakfast at rush hour not well organised Noise of DJ or Karaoke till midnight + did not bother us that much (6th floor, open window) but its there! They should decide which name to use. Hotel Britannia was hard to find. And the internet was lousy

My room was spacious and comfortable. I appreciated having a small fridge in my room. The breakfast was excellent value. I also appreciated the shared kitchen and the laundry facilities. Finally, the location was close to the train station and the historic city harbour.

The sign on the outside of the building says Ostello Bello and I walked right by it twice before entering the building and finding out I was in the right place.

The location was fantastic near the train station which was great for day trips out of town to the beach towns. There was a very nice kitchen even with a generous amount of staples, cooking oil, pasta etc.included but unfortunately not enough frying pans or cutlery for the many people using it. It was a bit stressful for everyone because of this. The twin room was large with a bar fridge. It was noisy on the 4 th floor from people on the street often but not constant. Good breakfast.

One of our beds had bed springs poking out, so the cleaning staff loaned us a thick blanket to double up to combat the springs. The lack of cutlery and frying pans in the kitchen was awful for everyone waiting to cook. They also need some staff to drop by during busy kitchen times to get the kitchen under control so it doesn’t become a disaster zone. I spent on two different occasions an over half an hour cleaning other peoples sink pile ups and unloading the dish rack to save the already out of control kitchen during the early evening. The hallways were ugly with the sprayed carpet. But otherwise the place was great !

We were in Genoa for 1 night and wanted to be close to the train station, so the location was perfect for this. We had a really spacious private double room which was quiet, despite the hostel vibes downstairs. There's a gym and games room too, for guests who have a longer stay. The staff were friendly and helpful - it was the perfect place for a night of rest between travel days!

Finding the place was a bit confusing - we didn't realise that it's also called Ostello Bello Genoa hostel, and this name was more obvious to see than Hotel Britannia. The WiFi in our room didn't work too well either, but besides that everything was great.

The hostel is absolutely fantastic: The staff is very friendly and helpful, the hostel itself is cosy, extremely well equipped, offers free welcome drinks, a great breakfast + food to take out, comes with a patio with swings and hammocks + a kitchen with everything you need to prepare a meal after a day of exploring Genova (even recipes) & has lots of cute, homely lounge spots. Awesome.

spacious room (Seems it was actually a family room or dormitory for private use); large windows; code access to the room; perfect location very close to the main station and on a safe street; very nice and friendly staff; café bar with one free drink and lots of sitting places.

Probably due to the room size (or high ceiling), the heating was not functioning well and the room was rather cold;

The staff could not have been more helpful. They were superb. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They were friendly, polite and efficient. Good size room and great location. Lots of restaurants nearby. Great breakfast worth the price.

I feel that the cost was a little on the steep size, however this could have been due to events that were going on in the city at the time, and of course I knew the cost in advance so it was my choice. I would stay again if the overall price was lower but as said this could have been due to local events pushing the price up. As far as the hotel itself is concerned I have no complaints whatsoever.

Our double room was pretty large, located in the attic. It was equipped with everything we needed and the hotel/hostel also has nice amenities and shared spaces (kitchen, terrace, bar, etc).

It would have been nice to be informed about all facilities when we checked in, instead of figuring out too late that there’s a lovely terrace on the 1st floor. The staff didn’t speak great English, so they might have preferred to keep to the basics.
