You cannot beat the location of Hotel Baia. It's a short walk down the main drag from the train station, maybe a 2 minute walk, and it's right on the beachfront with its own private beach area (you rent umbrellas and chairs from the hotel for an extra fee). We had a lovely balcony on the side of the building that overlooked the mountains and the sea. The room was compact but it didn't feel like too tight of a squeeze.

We attempted to rent an umbrella and chairs later in the day on the Saturday we were staying there, and even though clearly most of the guests who had rented for the day had left the beach already, we weren't able to rent anything. So if you do stay here and plan to spend time at the beach, we recommend renting your spot in the morning in order to guarantee you'll be able to get a spot.

I had the pleasure of staying at Baia Hotel in Monterosso, and I cannot recommend it enough! From the moment I walked in, the cleanliness of the hotel was immediately noticeable. Every corner of the hotel, from the rooms to the common areas, was impeccably maintained. The fresh, inviting smell throughout the hotel added an extra layer of comfort, making the entire experience even more pleasant. But what truly stood out during my stay was the private beach experience. The hotel provides access to a beautiful, well-kept beach and the presence of lifeguards made me feel incredibly safe and at ease. I was particularly impressed to see that the lifeguards were not only attentive to the guests on the private beach but were also helping people on the public beach nearby ( For example, I saw them assisting people who had been bitten by jellyfish, lost items ...)

Location perfect. Breakfast good as was wait staff and the gentleman at the front desk. Clean with good shower and bathroom and view

The older female owner was very grumpy and sat at table across from ours and stared at us during breakfast. She told us we ate too much food and because of that should tip the wait staff (which we had every intention of doing when we were leaving). I had each morning one boiled egg, small bread roll and cup of tea !!! The men in our group ate more but nothing too much. She made us very uncomfortable and was constantly watching us

The hotel has an excellent placement right on the beach. They have set up amenities to enjoy the beach and boardwalk. The cleaning staff is excellent as the place is spotless top to bottom. The breakfast food was delicious with many choices. The staff was accomadating to requests, for example making cappaccinnos and bringing it to the boardwalk area for breakfast dining. The man at the desk is very gracious with excellent customer service skills. Everyone we came across tried their best to make our stay the best possible. It is a lovely building, a lovely room, a modern bathroom with new fixtures, and a good bed. We highly recommend staying here.

A take away paper bag with a croissant for the early train departure would be nice. Other hotels are offering this type of thing for the crack of dawn departures.

This Hotel is right on the promenade with the beach in front. The view from our room was magic. The room was good and had good air conditioning and toiletries. Good breakfast with barrister coffee. A nice seating area with tables area just for guests on the promenade. Sad to leave.

There wasn’t much to not like except the stairs ( lift for luggage though) And we met a couple at the beach below reserved for guests who had paid for the loungers and umbrella and as it was about 4pm they were leaving and gave us the receipt and said we could have them. (Too late to rerent them and plenty empty loungers all around)The employee wouldn’t let us have it even though the couple told him it was ok. Was quite animated about it. Shame it spoilt a nice stay

The location was fantastic. 3 min walk from the train station. Right on the sea front with a private beach. All the staff were very friendly and helpful -pointing us in the right direction for food etc Breakfast was from 8-11 Bed was extremely comfortable- listening to the sea at night was lovely (only if u kept the windows opened.

There was no "do not disturb" sign. So everyday we were woken by cleaners. The light of the a/c when the a/c wasn't running was so bright at night it lit up the whole room The hairdryer was burning out You weren't allowed to use the lift apart from luggage and being on the top floor was a lot

Excellent for a 3 star property. Perfect location off the beach and near restaurants etc. Really clean; the cleaning staff for the bedrooms were excellent, nice sized bedroom, very good breakfast(apart from coffee: make sure to order coffee from the staff, don’t drink the self-service stuff). Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Very little not to like: a sea view would have been good but the advantage of a room at the back was the quiet. I suppose if fitness was an issue for a guest the stairs would be a problem, the lift was only for luggage.

The position of the hotel is magical, directly opposite the beach. We paid for a balcony sea view and it was worth the extra. Breakfast was limited and could get boring if you stayed longer than we did. There was a section of seats on the promenade purely for hotel guests that we used for breakfast. You could have drinks there during the day but we didn’t because there was no clear instructions or menu and we were never sure if there was food. There is a private beach that only hotel guests can use but you paid to use it and towels are not supplied and we didn’t pack any.

There could have been more information given around the outdoor seating area and what was available. Prices for the beach could have been lowered if only using it for an hour or so when you arrive in the afternoon. Towels should be supplied. We felt some staff were very offhand. We got asked why we moved seats one morning at breakfast and were told we had used too many cutlery sets!

In a fantastic spot, beach is right there!! This was my second time returning to Cinque Terre and second time at this hotel. If I were to come back, I would stay here again. Rooms are on the smaller size, however clean and comfortable. Beach chairs reserved for hotel stayers makes it very convenient however you still have to pay for them!! I had booked a mountain view room, and given a room on the side, which meant we could see the ocean, fantastic!!

Breakfast is basic, coffee is horrible however this doesn’t matter as much when staying in paradise!!

Fantastic! We booked a couple of nights and liked the place so much we stayed another two! This family-run hotel is outstanding. Impeccably clean facilities right in the beach and staff that make you feel like family make this our favorite stop in Italy. Monterosso al Mare is spectacular itself but Hotel Baia makes it that much better. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with super comfy beds, and bathrooms that are clean clean clean! Hotel Baia even has a private beach for its guests right across from the entrance and is located in the midst of the best food choices for any appetite or budget. I can’t recommend Hotel Baia any higher than— it’s 11/10!

not a single thing to dislike.
