You cannot beat the location of Hotel Baia. It's a short walk down the main drag from the train station, maybe a 2 minute walk, and it's right on the beachfront with its own private beach area (you rent umbrellas and chairs from the hotel for an extra fee). We had a lovely balcony on the side of the building that overlooked the mountains and the sea. The room was compact but it didn't feel like too tight of a squeeze.

We attempted to rent an umbrella and chairs later in the day on the Saturday we were staying there, and even though clearly most of the guests who had rented for the day had left the beach already, we weren't able to rent anything. So if you do stay here and plan to spend time at the beach, we recommend renting your spot in the morning in order to guarantee you'll be able to get a spot.

Location perfect. Breakfast good as was wait staff and the gentleman at the front desk. Clean with good shower and bathroom and view

The older female owner was very grumpy and sat at table across from ours and stared at us during breakfast.She told us we ate too much food and because of that should tip the wait staff (which we had every intention of doing when we were leaving). I had each morning one boiled egg, small bread roll and cup of tea !!! The men in our group ate more but nothing too much. She made us very uncomfortable and was constantly watching us

The location was fantastic. 3 min walk from the train station. Right on the sea front with a private beach. All the staff were very friendly and helpful -pointing us in the right direction for food etc Breakfast was from 8-11 Bed was extremely comfortable- listening to the sea at night was lovely (only if u kept the windows opened.

There was no "do not disturb" sign. So everyday we were woken by cleaners. The light of the a/c when the a/c wasn't running was so bright at night it lit up the whole room The hairdryer was burning out You weren't allowed to use the lift apart from luggage and being on the top floor was a lot

The position of the hotel is magical, directly opposite the beach. We paid for a balcony sea view and it was worth the extra. Breakfast was limited and could get boring if you stayed longer than we did. There was a section of seats on the promenade purely for hotel guests that we used for breakfast. You could have drinks there during the day but we didn’t because there was no clear instructions or menu and we were never sure if there was food. There is a private beach that only hotel guests can use but you paid to use it and towels are not supplied and we didn’t pack any.

There could have been more information given around the outdoor seating area and what was available. Prices for the beach could have been lowered if only using it for an hour or so when you arrive in the afternoon. Towels should be supplied. We felt some staff were very offhand. We got asked why we moved seats one morning at breakfast and were told we had used too many cutlery sets!

In a fantastic spot, beach is right there!! This was my second time returning to Cinque Terre and second time at this hotel. If I were to come back, I would stay here again. Rooms are on the smaller size, however clean and comfortable. Beach chairs reserved for hotel stayers makes it very convenient however you still have to pay for them!! I had booked a mountain view room, and given a room on the side, which meant we could see the ocean, fantastic!!

Breakfast is basic, coffee is horrible however this doesn’t matter as much when staying in paradise!!

Fantastic! We booked a couple of nights and liked the place so much we stayed another two! This family-run hotel is outstanding. Impeccably clean facilities right in the beach and staff that make you feel like family make this our favorite stop in Italy. Monterosso al Mare is spectacular itself but Hotel Baia makes it that much better. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with super comfy beds, and bathrooms that are clean clean clean! Hotel Baia even has a private beach for its guests right across from the entrance and is located in the midst of the best food choices for any appetite or budget. I can’t recommend Hotel Baia any higher than— it’s 11/10!

not a single thing to dislike.

We had a room with a balcony and could not fault this hotel. Fantastic position only a 3 minute walk from the station and amongst all the shops. Hotel Baia have their own private beach with umbrellas, what a bonus that is that you don’t have to fight for an umbrella. Think they were 25 euro for the day. Staff are there on hand to mind your key so you don’t need to take it with you and they were all really friendly and helpful. Excellent air conditioning and a great shower. They also have their own chairs and tables outside where you can have your breakfast or have a drink during the day.

Nothing not to like.

Great location, right on the beach and near the train station but nevertheless quiet when the shutters were closed. The beds were comfortable and the room was air-conditioned. The views from the balcony were amazing. The buffet breakfast was good. Please note, the beach chairs were €30 each per person for daily use.

The staff were quite rude. And there was only one small antiquated elevator that was meant to be for suitcases only. So having to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs was not fun in the heat. Also, there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the small rooms.

Hotel Baia is on the beachfront. Absolutely lovely, I had a sea view room. Breakfast in the morning was continental and excellent. Eaten on the beachfront and enjoyed the sea views. Room was so clean and staff very friendly and helpful. While I had to walk up the stairs to my room - this gave me some exercise. Cases were transferred via the lift. Loved the location, the staff, the condition and cleanliness of the hotel. In the evenings would often come back from my excursions and have a glass of wine on the outside terrace. A great way to end the day.

Ooh I booked a spot on the beach for the day at 20 euros I thought that rather expensive for a single umbrella and sunbed. Would have hoped the hotel could have provided a better deal. However, there was an attendant there all day, so I guess his or her wages need to be paid.

The hotel was situated nicely overlooking the ocean and near the train station. Breakfast was excellent and could be taken on the deck out front of the hotel overlooking the beach and the ocean. Our room was lovely and comfortable.

Unfortunately the elevator was only to bring up luggage so we had to walk up 70 steps to get to our room but then it was good exercise. :) I was also surprised that use of the beach umbrellas and chairs was not included for guests of the hotel but that may be standard practice and I just don't know because I'm not from Europe.
