If I had to choose one reason to return to this hotel, it would be because of the exceptional service provided by a staff member named Sonny. From the moment we arrived, Sonny's warm smile and genuine attentiveness made us feel welcomed and valued. He consistently went above and beyond to anticipate our needs, offering helpful suggestions and ensuring that every aspect of our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was assisting with our luggage, arranging transportation, or simply offering a friendly chat, Sonny's kindness and professionalism truly set him apart. His dedication to providing exceptional guest service is a testament to the hotel's commitment to excellence, and it is because of Sonny that I would eagerly return to this establishment time and time again.

I had a double room for single occupancy, so I had a nice king sized bed with pillows that were just the right thickness and firmness for me. There was loads of wardrobe space and a desk with lots of drawers and cubby holes for all my bits and pieces. The bathroom was small, but it had a great power shower, with plenty of hot water - and decent sized towels. All the furniture was old, and the room could have done with a fresh coat of paint, but that added to the character of the place, and everything was spotlessly clean - which is what matters! I was there in March, so the days were pretty warm, but the nights were quite chilly. The room had an aircon unit, which cooled the room down quite quickly when I got in early in the evening, but wan't needed overnight. There were huge opening windows, but Rome is so noisy that I couldn't have them open overnight. The access arrangements were a bit unusual - the hotel doesn't have a full time reception, so you get a key for the outside door as well as for your room. It felt a bit like coming home to my own place, although I got a wee bit stressed about the possibility of losing my key. I had breakfast at the hotel most mornings, and the food selection was fine for me, but some people might consider it a bit limited. As for location - it was pretty much perfect. It was only a few minutes walk from Termini, about 100 metres away from the Via Nazionale (for catching buses) and in easy walking distance from the centre of Rome. I walked to St Peter's in about 45 minutes. There were also plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity (I'd recommend the Diadema, about 3 mins walk down the Via Palermo), and a very nice patisserie just across the road. All in all, I had a very pleasant and comfortable week at the Hotel Caravaggio. It was great value for money (by Rome's price standards), and I'd be very happy to stay there again if (when) I get back to Rome.

Located in a quiet side street with pleasant neighborhood cafes, in The same time within walking distance too most attractions. Was pleasantly surprised by the room, which was clean, nice and had a balcony, cooling capacity and the possibility to make coffee or tea. The beds were good and had enough pillows. It was a quiet and peaceful room, both from the outside (the balcony faced a public building/area without much traffic). It was a bit noisy towards the hallway, but it was a little annoying because there were few rooms in the hallway. Heard little between the rooms. The service was pleasant, although we did not see much of these due to their own entrance with other private apartments. The feeling was therefore that you lived for yourself, which suited us perfectly.

The staff treats you like royalty! Our original room had A/C issues and the manager showed us other room alternatives to ensure we were comfortable and the A/C was to our expectations. We had a longer stay and everyone treated us like family. Room had mini-fridge, wardrobe, and Caravaggio prints, along with Italian furnishings (one room had a mosaic floor)! The location is close to the city center and the train station, so we had access to everything! It's on a quiet street so not much street noise to contend with. Safe neighborhood with restaurants and shopping just steps away. Highly recommend this hidden gem of a hotel as you are within walking distance to sites and the train station can take you everywhere else.

Everything was GRAND!

It is an apart-hotel, in a flat of apartments in the heart of Rome, maximum 15 minutes’ walk to the main historic attractions. The utilities are basic, but you have all you need (including a kettle, coffee, tea and a small refrigerator). We loved the mosaic flooring. Nearby there is Taliani bar where we had delicious breakfast every day. There is hot water, but you must wait for a few minutes.

Small repairs are needed in the apartment.

Caravaggio was the "bad boy" of the Renaissance period. He had a tempestuous and intense Life. I booked this Hotel precisely because the name was intriguing (I am a fan of the painter) and naturally the perfect location (you can walk in less than 10 Minutes to the Fontana di Trevi, less than 15 Minutes from the Termini train station). You are greeted by the friendly Quili, the Receptionist from a classic Italian movie. Very friendly and helpful in all things Rome. The setup of the building is interesting, going through corridors - naturally with Caravaggio paintings (copies of course) - to find your room. I loved the classic decoration, the vintage feel in the middle of Rome. Excellent place for travellers that have an open mindset, to be surprised and enjoy a different type of Hotel.

That I couldn't stay longer! This Hotel experience was excellent. Recommend it to couples and single travellers. There is really nothing I would change.
