location behind fish & vegetable market allows easy food shopping. terrace with partial sea view was relaxing and nice. good location for walking tours on Ortigia. we found free street parking nearby. early check in at noon (leave luggage) was possible. if you want terrace make sure you book the larger & more expensive upper floor apartment, not the ground floor one. Good value in off season February & Omicron

The heating via AC unit did not work during our stay, and some nights in February were rather chilly (after our check out the host wrote us the AC needed a service man to come; a partial refund were not possible after check out). Apartment outer door handle fell off at some point & not sure how secure the exposed cylinder lock was. Note a steep stair to upper apartment, and also to terrace above, which was ok for us, but might be an issue for some (note there is a ground floor apartment also -see above)

The location was fab, very handy for getting around Ortegia. The room was a great size and very clean. The shower was larger than most I’ve seen during my visit to Sicily. The neighbour across the way was very helpful when another set of guests were finding it difficult to locate their rooms. All in all a great place and great value for money.

It would be useful if there had been a note left to explain which bins are for what type of rubbish. Maybe there was one that I didn’t notice. Very minor, place fab overall.

The roof terrace is amazing, beatiful view, and the location is great for walking in Ortigia island. The kitchen is small but well-equipped, and the street itself has a great ambience. The market and many good restaurants are in a walking distance.

Parking was a nightmare in the area, the Talete parking house was often full. Be prepared for the smell from the fish and fruit market on the corner :)

Great location in the old part of the city in a historical building. Close to the food market and two lively cafés - and easy to walk into the inner city centre. Enjoyed my breakfast on the terrace. The owner is very helpful and symphatetic.

Perhaps some written instructions for sorting the rubbish could be helpful for foreigners.

Very good communication skills of the host. Davide has provided all the necessary check in and out details of his property; responded promptly with all our queries. We stayed in the Loft ( which is on the ground floor), it was just what we needed. A nice cute studio with a working kitchen; market is just around the corner. Get the famous Caseificio Borderi panini.

Everything was great, it would have been nice to have a spare roll of toilet paper :)

Lots of amenities provided even with coffee caps. The flat is rather quiet as it's far from any road, but also there is no isolation so people walking outside can easily be heard. Internet was not super fast but good enough (also stabile) to work remotely. Although working from there is definitely not recommended for other aspects (see below) - if you just want to sleep in this flat, it may be fine, it's also centrally located in Ortigia and it had (at least when I was there out of the main tourist season) some easy parking slots available.

I'm used to travel a lot but this is one of the most misleading booking.com offer I've ever seen. From "Ortigia Terrace Sea View", there is neither a terrace nor a sea view if you book the "Loft" option. Actually, in February, the flat was the exact opposite: dark and cold. There is a reverse AC but it is too weak - however the fact that the flat never sees the sun might be a plus during hot summer days

The location was in the heart of Syracuse and was spotlessly clean. The bedding was beautiful. We were instructed well regarding entrance and sent lots of local information that we could enjoy. It was great to have a fridge with goods that you could purchase, as arriving late it is often a problem to find somewhere open. Owner thought of everything, including placing umbrellas in the property. Our daughter’s told us that the bed settee was very comfortable. It is worth noting that The Loft does not have access to the roof terrace, but we were informed of this before staying.

There was a little noise in the morning, due to a market setting up in an adjoining street, but the people were very friendly and we enjoyed the authentic market.

It was a great location; close to the market and within 15 mins walking distance of the railway station. It took about 20 minutes to get to the tip of the island. It is a lovely area, all medieval streets and honeyed stone. There is some nice shopping nearby, including a supermarket, as well and all the historic sites. I loved the roof terrace with views over the bay. It had deckchairs, loungers, a parasol and a table and chairs under a sun screen. It was an ideal place to relax. There are lots of pubs and restaurants of varying types in Ortigia-enough to keep you going. There are some great places for sundowners. The apartment is secure and it is very well-equipped. I was delighted that there was a coffee machine, fridge freezer, kettle and a microwave. The WiFi was quick and hot water was readily available. Davide and Sharon are very friendly and helpful. They provided lots of useful recommendations, which were ideal. They engaged well at all the various stages of my rental. I stayed there for a week. It was cleaned and the sheets changed halfway through. There was fresh fruit left on arrival.

Location could not be better, noone should stay in Syracusa town. The beautiful part is the island and it is gorgeous at night and day time ❤️The other side is miserable apart from the ruins. the owner was extremely helpful. They were responding very quickly at all subjects.Coffee machine was good. Self check in/check out ,means no stress with timing.

Air-conditioner was not heating at the correct mood. In winter time, it was cold in the evenings. we closed it after 1 hour not to spend unnecessary energy when we realised it is not warming. It needs maintenance or cleaning,no clue :) There is a strong moisture smell, but I dont know if it is the case of all historical buildings in Ortigia. Pots and pans are not great, we prepared only simple breakfast but didnt cook. The second bed was not set up , we had to look for some time for sheets and covers to find.

The location was unbeatable: right behind the market where we purchased fresh food to cook. It was also relatively quiet given we were on the ground floor. Davide was promptly responsive to all messages and was very friendly. Great value.

if you want a view, don’t stay in the “loft” unit. No access to the wonderful terrace which is so prominently displayed in the listing (in the photos and in the name). we were on the street and there was no view except of passers by. Also, cooking equipment definitely needs to be replaced. The one pan was beat up and the nonstick surface coming off isn’t safe for cooking. Also, spatula was lacking so had to cook using a fork. Again, very minor quibble.
