The Algilà Ortigia Charme Hotel truly won us over with its impressively friendly and helpful concierge, making our stay seamless and delightful. The hotel's location in the heart of Ortigia couldn't have been better for exploring the city's enchanting streets. Additionally, we were smitten by the hotel's exquisite blend of architectural charm and modern amenities, all presented with an admirable level of cleanliness.

A minor drawback was the sound isolation in the rooms; the energetic echoes of children playing in the corridors were occasionally noticeable. That said, we understand this is often a characteristic of historical buildings, and it did not significantly detract from our overall enjoyment of the stay.

The hotel is very charming and close to Ortigia city walls. The room and bathroom are spacious and comfortable. Beverages from the mini bar - water and various soft drinks- were for free. Breakfast was very complete - you could even prepare your own cannoli- and you could also order special meals from the kitchen. Coffee was glorious!

There is an enormous lounge on the new side of the hotel building, but no bar service during the evening - at least during my stay- so there was nobody there. Staff at check-in could not find my reservation, until I provided the Booking confirmation number.

The hotel was attractively furnished, especially the main rooms. The breakfasts were very good and we enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant.

There were beautiful rooms in the building adjacent to the main building with the reception, which could have been used more. It seemed strange to have the reception in the other building where there was much less space for people to sit, and it became rather crowded when people were waiting to be collected, or in the evening, whereas the other rooms in the other building were barely used.

This really is a charming hotel in Ortigia. Comfortable room and excellent breakfast and staff . A perfect location from which to explore and handy for the 10 Euro Hop on Hop off bus which takes you conveniently around Siracusa and Ortigia - including the impressive Archeological Park. Tastefully decorated with interesting artefacts. A superb breakfast. Easily the best we had in the three hotels of our Sicilian holiday.

Of course there is no outdoor space at the hotel but we knew that. After all it is a former town palace. There really is nothing to dislike about this hotel

Breakfast was one of the best I've ever had at a hotel. The options were myriad and hard to choose from. So much variety, you could even make your own cannoli's! The location was terrific, the sea across the street, the market just a few minutes away, multiple small local restaurants to choose from. The staff was helpful and very kind. My friend, who is tough on ratings, felt this was one of the best hotels he's stayed in! We will return.

Nothing, really. They were so accommodating, the breakfast and location both wonderful.

We stayed in a very spacious "Classic Suite" which was comfortably furnished and spotlessly clean. We highly recommend this room type for anyone travelling with more than 2 people. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, from the reception team to the breakfast staff. Speaking of breakfast, it was absolutely delicious and included everything we ordered from the kitchen. The valet service was also efficient, although it was a bit pricey. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Ortigia.

Front door had broken glass window which greeted us upon arrival which hopefully will be repaired soon. Otherwise it was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area

Look no further, the facilities and service are 5-star quality and 90% of the staff speak English perfectly. They never stop trying to make your visit go smoothly. We stayed for a week making day trips to Taormina, MtEtna, Ragusa, Noto, and Modica. The location is postcard beautiful and easily walkable to explore the Ortigia area of Siracusa. Only 50 rooms, so grab one if you’re lucky.

This was an exceptionally charming hotel, boutique feel with the right balance of history, culture and hospitality. The rooms were extraordinary and spacious, the pictures on the site doesn’t do them justice. We stayed in the family suite and it exceeded all our expeditions (we like to think of ourselves as sophisticated travelers!).

All of the staff, except one were very proactive and helpful.

Helpful, discrete, kind staff. A slightly faded charm, with effortless class. Lovely location, excellent breakfasts (the apricot tart particularly good). Couldn't have been more relaxing a stay.

Dated approach to energy conservation: lights on everywhere all day, heating turned to 21°C in the rooms, towels and sheets changed too frequently, etc. Bathroom locks rudimentary. Decor a bit tired (but this is also part of the charm).
