I loved waking up every morning at the crack of dawn, opening my window out onto a beautiful view of the canal, and listening to the chorus of birdsong and hum of ship engines while breathing in the fresh sea air as people started to go about their day. The breakfast served was simple (cakes/pastry, cereal/yogurt, ham/cheese/rolls, coffee - I bought my own fruit at a stall in Cannaregio) but solid - very helpful throughout the week in getting my day started, and the women serving it were extremely nice. The room was always tidied whenever I came back from a day traversing the city. You can easily access other parts of the city such as San Marco from the vaporetto (waterbus) stop at Piazzale Roma just north of the hotel. Given the cost of other accommodations in Venice, this place is excellent value.

The bathroom shower's drain outside my room drained incredibly slowly. I ended up using a different shower just around the hall corner for most of my stay, as that one had no issue. I let the host know about the drain, so I'm assuming they will get it fixed. There is no washing machine on site (not sure if this is standard), but I was able to make do with the clothes I brought.

Very quiet and fantastically clean, even the shared bathroom facilities. Slept like a rock every night. Window had an effective bug screen and the window was to the garden so no canal smell. The private garden was a nice touch. Bed had a super hard mattress

Only one electrical outlet in the room (it’s an old building, so expected) but there are more in the common areas

Great value for money. Don't expect the Ritz, this is more like a really good hostel. Rooms are very simple but everything is spotless and works well, including the air-conditioning (very important). The beds were quite comfortable. One of the best things about it is the location. It's only a 5min walk from Piazzale Rona, where you enter Venice regardless how you travel.

You need to be aware that there is no entering or leaving the hotel between midnight and 6am. If that doesn't work for you, don't book this. Wasn't a problem for us. Breakfast is as basic as the room interiors but it was enough for us.

The room was splendid! Very clean, toilet and a good shower, towels and ample storage space provided. The location is great, a short stroll from the entrance to Venice but just far enough that there are no more crowds of people nearby. The free breakfast is great value - many options to choose from - and the WiFi is good too. Elevator to get your bags up as well, A/C in the room.

Midnight curfew didn't affect me too much, but if you're looking to have a big night this might be worth keeping in mind. I wasn't aware of any food storage/preparation facilities outside of the breakfast, but again this might not be an issue for everyone.

Very clean and cozy hotel in quiet street but not far from the bus- and railway stations. Beautiful garden. Very clean and comfortable room. Very frendly staff. My shared bathroom was was available whenever I needed and also very clean. The breakfast not very varied, but enough to start a day in Venice. A very good option, where you want to stay again and again

Everything is fine

The building and the rooms are kept immaculately clean and it is such a peaceful and quiet location with a beautiful central garden. The location is beyond convenient, just about 10 or 15 minute walk from the train station. Venice is a pedestrian city and so everything is in “walking distance” as long as you are up to the task of making that walk out and back again.

travelers should be advised that this building has been converted to serve as a hotel, and so will not possess the typical amenities you might come to expect from a hotel. For example, there were no outlets in my single room, but I was able to make use of two outlets in the common space just outside the room to charge devices on an as-needed basis. This was just a minor inconvenience, but some thing that came as a surprise so take that under advisement if you consider staying here.

Casa C is located on a quiet canal in the Santa Croce area. It’s easy to find and very convenient to Piazzale Roma, the bus station, and Ferrovia, the train station. You will have to carry your bags across a few bridges, but that’s hard to avoid in Venice. I requested, and got, a canal view room, which was nice and sunny. 305 is on the 3rd floor (2nd floor by the European system). There are two elevators, for the stair-weary, though the stairs are more conveniently placed. My room was very simple. A single bed, a desk, a wardrobe, sink and mirror. The shared bathroom was just a few steps across the hall, and two more were right around the corner. I never found a bathroom occupied when I needed it, so there are plenty. Other rooms have en suite bathrooms. There’s no TV in the room. You can’t zone out to re-runs of Colombo dubbed into Italian--but neither can yor next-door neighbor! I loved the quiet. Everything in my room and the bathrooms was spotless and new looking. The showers were smallish, but had endless hot water and water pressure I’d love to have at home. Soap and a little packet of shampoo (renewed every third day) were provided. The bath towels are nice--soft and sized to fit around a full-grown human. Breakfast is served from 730-900, and is pretty good. No hot stuff--this is Italy! There’s pretty good coffee (cappuccino, latte, and all) from a machine, tea, orange or pineappple juice (SUPER sweet), along with various jams, spreads, etc. On the buffet, there is yogurt, two cold cereals, marble cake, panettone, a fruit tart, two types of bread rolls, cheese, and ham. It’s not self-serve--friendly nuns make neat little plates for you. On the wall are signs that say stuff like “Name your food--Don’t point at it!” Given the jumble of Italian, English, French, and whatever spoken, everybody points, of course, and no one scolds. The nuns are great, friendly and helpful, especially if you take a minute to engage.

Wi-fi is available, but a little spotty. The midnight to 6 am lock-in was a bit inconvenient for an early riser like me. To make my 840 am flight from the airport, I had to move to a hotel on the mainland for the last day.

Convenient location. Comfortable, quiet with very helpful staff and nice breakfast. A beautiful chapel and a small elevator that was so appreciated.

I have no complaint. Probably not a place for partiers since there is a curfew.

Clean, simple, great value, near Piazzale Roma (so you only had to go over a couple of bridges- it was an easy walk from Piazzale Roma). And it has air conditioning! I had a wonderful view of the Fondamenta from my room. Also, this is a quiet area, far from tourist crowds.

The bed was a little narrow and lumpy, but I got used to it!
