Lovely older hotel, perfectly situated on the waterfront. Nice to eat breakfast in the garden. Really, really comfortable beds (my best night’s sleep for a long time) and friendly staff.

No tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. On the last morning I noticed a tray with a kettle and cups next to the stairs (not in a place I’d passed when taking the lift to/from my room) - it would have been good to have known about this (assuming it was for guests to use). Paid a lot in the bar for a green tea, having not spotted this previously.

Significantly understaffed in the restaurant making the daily breakfast a little chaotic and discouraging us from spending more time at the hotel for drinks, dinner, etc... It also felt like there was no manager--every man (and woman) for themselves.

The terrace room was gorgeous. so luxurious.

The chaise lounge which was used as a third bed in the children’s room was too hard to be called a bed. needed a soft quilt to sleep on top of and then would be fine.

We arrived at Venice International Airport in the evening and a 'shared' water taxi to the hotel. We were lucky that we were the last to be dropped off as you saw the whole Grand Canal. The shared water taxi drop off was Monument, i think and cost E30 pp. There is a side small jetty off reception at Metropole Hotel, so we booked a water taxi for ourselves only for E130 back to the airport a couple of days later. Highly recommend water taxi's as a treat. Lots of restaurants nearby this hotel also and short walk to the Square.

This hotel is maybe 5th century Venetian hotel that has heaps of character. Had an outside breakfast area, but as it was October it was not used, but we would have preferred to have breakfast out there. Our room was on the 3rd floor and was of great size and had windows that could open, which is very important to us to get fresh air into the room, instead of using the air conditioning.

Great hotel, good location, nice Venetian decor inside the hotel, excellent breakfast, nice staff, beautiful outdoor (and indoor) space for breakfast, good spacious comfy rooms, excellent pillows and superb housekeeping. had a really great time here.

expensive transfers, very expensive drinks, no view in side rooms (window to a wall), building itself on the outside looks a little run down, slight confusion on the amount of stars (booking says 5, on hotel itself there’s 4). Spa looks beautiful but is only accessible (incl the small pool) at high fee.

Everything was perfect! The Staff at the reception was so friendly and helpful. Also the Staff at the Breakfast was so nice! We had a Double Standard Room and it was just beautiful! Everything was in red and in a typical venetian style. The bed was very comfy and we had enough space in the bedroom and also in the bathroom! The Breakfast was very delicious. It takes place in the beautiful garden. Because of corona there was no buffet, so we had to choose on a paper what we want and they served it to us at the table. You can choose between different egg meals, variety of cheese and meat, fresh fruits, cereals, sweets and yogurt. The lobby, the bar and the garden is so beautiful! Everything is in a style mixed of venetian and oriental! We had a wonderful time in Venice and the Metropolian! Thank you!

The location is one of the best, the kindness and skills of the staff are excellent, some of the rooms are excellent, the internal garden is unique and wonderful

Some parts of the rooms need to be renovated, for example, the old style key on the safe box is anachronistic and uncomfortable, the breakfast can be improved. Some carpets need to be renovated

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous and perfect for our anniversary celebration! We were so delighted to get an upgrade on arrival and our room was amazing! The hotel is in a great location and easy to walk to all the main tourist hotspots and to get the public transport boat. We didn’t eat at the restaurant however we had drinks at the bar on both evenings which was very cosy and had a vast drink selection. The staff were extremely nice and couldn’t do more to make our stay welcoming. We would highly recommend this hotel and we can’t wait to come back!
