Hotel Santa Chiara

Absolute delight! Our room was upgraded to the view of the bridge and our toddler enjoyed watching boats passing by. The breakfast was great as well. You can also catch a taxi boat right next to the hotel and make a private corona-friendly tour out of it, or if you need to get somewhere quickly. Parking went smooth as well (keep in mind, there is extra charge for parking, and the underground parking is a bit tricky as they use a platform-lift to take your car to the garage, however it's ok). Next time we visit we will definitely stay in this hotel as well.

I don't like when my documents are being taken away. As much as I enjoy good service and "don't worry, we will bring it to your room", this doesn't apply to the passports. I recommend to do the needed copies right away and return documents to your quests immediately, otherwise it's very uncomfortable for guests who worry about their personal data.

I loved everything about this beautifully refreshed authentic masterpiece of a hotel. The staff!!!! Charming Helpful and added to the experience! All of them. !!! The location. ( the best in Venice by far). I can not say enough about this hotel. But better than any other hotel in Venice. Abd I am picky. Bravo!!!

Everything was perfecto and beyond

Beautiful hotel and room. Near the train and bus station; max. 5 min. walk. Our room had a sweet view over the canal. The shower had multiple nozzles, which was quite pleasant. WiFi was working well. Happy with the espresso maker in the room.

There were some moldy spots in the corners of the bathroom. It was not a lot, but worth to pay attention to by the staff.

The stay at Santa Chiara was great with one exception, be careful about the location. It is super convenient and one of the only places you don't need a water taxi to get to! However, it is also right next to the bus station. That is the ONLY drawback! Rooms were wonderful; staff was great and breakfast fantastic. If you don't feel the need to be right near St. Marks square, this is a terrific place to stay. The water bus (steps from the hotel) made it super easy to navigate and get to where we wanted. Biggest bonus for us was that it slept 3 people. Our son met us here so we needed a place for 3 which is super difficult to come by. Request a canal room to avoid the bus station!

Nice hotel, great position just on the edge of Venice - next to the bus terminal and vaporetto station. We expected the room to be a bit bigger but it was sufficient, heating was working fine in winter. We had "city view" which meant view on the bus station so we did not bother opening the curtains at all, luckily there was no noice from outside. A bit surprising was breakfast, which was not self service, but a la carte. There was no problem ordering everything you wanted - all freshly prepared. We welcomed the possibility to leave baggage after check-out. Pleasant stay, old building with a genius loci.

There was absolutely nothing about this hotel that wasn't great. The location was so convenient to the train station, the rooms are so comfortable and modern. There was some usual wear and tear to be expected with any hotel room, but it was perfect. The main bus stop is right outside the hotel, but you would never know it because the windows keep out the noise. The staff was also phenomenal and went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable and taken care of. There is a rooftop terrace that was a quiet way to end our day. We spent several evenings up there with a drink from the bar and chips watching the boats travel through the Grand Canal (There are a couple of pics below of the view from there). On top of its proximity to the train station, the Vaporetto station is right near the hotel as well along with several options for water taxis. If you're looking for a hotel that is in the middle of all of the sites, then you might not like the location, but we loved being a bit out of the main tourist areas. It allowed us to explore some of the quieter neighborhoods within walking distance, and getting around the city is very easy whether you take a boat or travel on foot. Thank you to everyone at Hotel Santa Chiara for making our first trip to Venice so comfortable!

If I were to give any feedback, I'd say that the breakfast option was a bit pricy given that there are a ton of places around to grab food. We also weren't sure what the 20 euro included. It would have been nice to have a cheaper option (maybe 10 euro?) that included just some fruit or pastries (maybe this was an option but we didn't see it?). This, however, is such a small thing for us. We just opted to find breakfast outside of the hotel.

The hotel is located at the Venice edge, meaning that you can drive up with your car, as we did, real close to the historical city centre. The hotel has its own private parking, which is very comfortable, but also quite expensive. We booked a room with a view on the Grand Canal, which is quite spectacular, but keep in mind that the boats on the canal produce a lot of noise. A second time we would opt for a room on the other side of the hotel. Breakfast is not a buffet but 'a la carte' with a somewhat limited choice. Because of the hotel's location, you're literaly one step away of beautiful historic Venice.

In our opinion breakfast is too limited for the price you pay for it. A buffet, of more choices would have made the difference. Parking is a luxury but quite expensive.

Amazing, Hotel in a perfect location. Beautiful bathrooms comfortable beds fantastic views of the grand Canal out your windows. This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever enjoyed. You can even drive to it which you will find is a huge benefit. They sent a car for us to the airport and you should do the same. It was the best thing about my long trip to Europe. to arrive and have someone waiting to take us directly to our hotel,roll my bags in the door where they were whisked way to my room! everything about this hotel and it’s staff is perfect.

Nothing whatsoever 

The location is ideal and the ease of getting to the airport is also important. No boats involved.

Booking.com said "good breakfast included". We found out at checkout that if I ordered eggs it's 15 euros extra. Apparently online bookings don't include the full breakfast. Nobody told us that as we would have ordered based on what we were allowed to have. Neither the staff at the hotel or booking.com indicated that we were only entitled to a continental breakfast. At 600 euros per night, to not get a free bottle of water in your room is despicable. Charging 3 euros for a bottle of water is highway robbery.
