We enjoyed the spa facilities along with the surrounding gardens. The staff were excellent and beyond willing to help. As it is a smaller accommodation, the staff were able to provide an excellent service. The rooms were clean and well maintained.

The location is good however not ideal. The city centre is around a 20-25 minute walk from Villa die Gelsi. This is mostly down hill and can be steep in places. The walk back to the villa can be challenging due to the hills and possibly the weather. However, this is made easier as there is a bus stop about 7 min walk from the villa. Guests should be prepared to use bus/taxi for journeys back to villa, especially at night. No other complaints about the property itself!

Everything about my stay was perfect. It was super quiet and calm and comfortable. I wanted to stay an extra day! The staff were super friendly and welcoming to me and my little dog. The chef even baked me a special gluten free oatmeal cake for breakfast! It made me feel seen and heard and welcomed. Get the fresh juices and omelette and the strong cappucino. So many gluten free options for breakfast, as I am intolerant. Also, I loved the smell of roses and other flowers on the property. It was fun to stay at a dog friendly property.

I really wanted to swim in the pools, but I am a sissy for cold water. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. I love that you can swim 24/7, in case you have jet lag. The sauna closes at 11pm, when reception closes.

Within moments of arriving I said to my husband “This place is heaven.” In the hills just outside of Verona, Relais Villa Dei Gelsi & Spa is beautiful and decorated to the highest standards. You'll feel like a guest at someone's secluded country compound. The best part is that it’s intimate—there are only 9 rooms and the property and pool are for guests alone (you’ll see the other guests from time to time, primarily at breakfast, but it never feels like you’re on top of each other). The people who work here make you feel truly welcome and cared for. Our dog was able to roam freely about the property. We walked downhill into Verona twice (a good 20-25 minute (often cobblestone) walk depending on the route you take). The hotel contracts with a local taxi service to comp two of your rides back or forth otherwise. Breakfast was good. There is no restaurant outside of the breakfast service, but we knew that in advance and planned accordingly. Nevertheless, they can prepare light snacks and drinks, which we really appreciated and enjoyed each day of our stay. Grazie mille for the relaxing time! We will definitely return.

Super dog friendly, perfect mixture of modern furniture and classic architecture, extremely clean, very quite yet close to the center and amazingly friendly service! We felt very welcomed and our dog was not only allowed to accompany us to the breakfast area but in fact she could run around everywhere all day long playing with the super friendly owner’s dog Albus. It’s also perfectly located up in the quiet hills over Verona but you still can walk down to the city centre within half an hour. Everyone was super helpful and a great host. We stayed two days at the pool and felt very relaxed.

The hospitality was exceptional! Very friendly staff and willing to assist in everything to make our stay and trip more comfortable. The villa dog Albus was amazing and very well trained!

The only downside -if at all- is that you cannot walk to a bar/restaurant. You’ll need a car or taxi to get around and into Verona, but its a short drive!

The rooms are gorgeous, comfy beds, delicious, beautiful gardens. We really felt relaxed and well looked after during our stay here. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful with taxis and information of taxis, sites and places to eat, thank you for looking after us and ensuring we got the most out of our stay.

Amazing, peaceful location. Beautiful landscape, pools and sauna. The decor inside and out has a very premium feel and is very stylish. The room was a good size and the bed was SO comfortable. Free taxi to and from hotel to the city centre was very handy. Breakfast was 10/10. And the staff are so attentive and friendly. Perfect stay, we would definitely stay again.

Nothing it’s perfect

Very nice location in the hills overviewing Verona. A 30 minutes walk to the city (down hills) with numerous food facilities. Geographical location offering a lot of different places to visit at a distance of about 50 kilometres which is great when you come by car.

A oasis of peace with a nice garden and a outdoor and indoor pool. The facility is providing nice snacks should you wish to spend your day sunbathing at the pool. Private car park.
