Breakfast had a lot of choice. Airconditioning worked very well and made our room comfortable particularly overnight as were able to shut all windows to keep out noise from the city centre. Reception staff were polite and helpful. Room cleaning staff, one in particular (sorry I didn't get her name) were exceptional and I cannot rate these staff highly enough; nothing was too much trouble and our room was clean. We liked the soap and shampoo provided

Our room, 533, had evidence of much wear and tear, holes in the bathroom door and wall which had been filled but not 'finished'. Transport from the airport into Cardiff city centre was restricted due to the time we travelled therefore we were forced to use taxi transport. The television had very few channels as were unable to find basic channels (ie terrestrial channels)

We arrived an hour earlier than check in. We were told we would have to wait as our room wasn't ready. We said that was fine but we would not be back until late as we were going to an event. We used the toilet, then when we came out they called us over and told us they had found us a room and they had upgraded us to a larger one. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Said who was being trained and the lady with him. Room was well equipped, on a high floor and had very efficient air conditioning. Location was brilliant for the cricket, Castle and city centre.

We tried to contact the hotel by email and chat before we arrived but didn't receive any reply. Disappointing. The bathroom was a bit tired and needed rerouting etc.

The room had everything we needed ie kettle, coffee, cups, iron, board, hairdryer. The hotel is conveniently located only a 2 minute walk from the Castle and restaurants. There is parking (£15/24 hrs) just behind the hotel which was useful.

The room had everything we needed but we found it a little small. There was very little space for us to put things on. When we took the tray of tea/kettle/cups out of the cupboard and put it on the only desk/table top available in the room, there was no where else for us to put our things on!

Good value for money! It was the most reasonably priced hotel for our dates of stay. This hotel has met our expectations in terms of the overall quality and location. As a nice bonus, we were given complimentary parking (for joining Hilton membership). Also, our son really enjoyed playing "Snakes and ladders" board game in the lobby :D

This hotel ticked all our boxes, so there is nothing really to complain of. It is a decent hotel with all basic amenities for a reasonable price. The hotel is a bit dated, there are some signs of wear and tear and the room was a bit dark.

Room was big , and clean, the beds were comfortable , the bathroom had a bath but the bath taps were too far over to reach as I’m very small but the shower was powerful and water hot, hand sanitizer was everywhere , breakfast was good and had gluten free options , staff were lovely and helpful.

Room was too hot and temp couldn’t be controlled while my friends room was very cold so neither of us slept well. I booked the hotel but got a view of the car park while my friends got a lovely view of the castle and gardens, no fridge and no draws for clothing

The service was exceptional, super friendly, especially in the restaurant. The kids and I had a great meal and we collapsed happily into our comfortable beds. We're sensitive sleepers and had no problems with noise at all. Fun breakfast, although not a huge selection of gluten and dairy-free options. The possibility to have free parking, in such a central location, was an unexpected and AMAZING bonus. It's an absolutely great location for exploring the castle and beautiful Cardiff.

Friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room

We pre- booked an evening meal which said it was from the a la carte menu, but we found it was a set menu with choices of starters, mains and deserts. This needs to be made clear in the I formation when booking. Also some items had run out when we got to breakfast at 8 45. Breakfast is served until 10.00; we were told they were waiting for an order to be divered. On the whole the stay was very good and we will stay again

We were upgraded as soon as we expressed dissatisfaction with the room given. The new room was perfect. Parking included in price as long as you register the car registration. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant food excellent.

Breakfast is charged as an extra. It should be included in the price. When we arrived we were put in a terrible room. It was dirty and very small. This room should be never rented out to any guest.

Breakfast was superb. The range of food catered for every taste and diet. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the Staff were friendly and efficient. Located on the bank of the river, Holiday Inn has views of Cardiff Castle Parkland in the front and Principality Stadium at the rear .....what’s not to love?

The only thing that didn’t quite meet expectation was that sound proofing of the rooms could be improved. Thankfully the guests next to us were not noisy, but we could still hear them.

Great location for our stay - good walking distance to most things that we needed and the staff were so friendly. The room was bigger than we thought it would be and was more than comfortable for three people.

The room was very warm and the aircon was ineffective - a fan in the room would have been appreciated but this did not dampen our experience. I have also emailed the lost property and not yet received a response.
