•The stars of this establishment are definitely the staff, especially the ladies on reception. Always a welcoming smile and nothing was too much trouble. Lucaz was also very efficient in the dining room during breakfast service. •Very comfortable bed •Excellent breakfast and location

•The main disappointment was the room itself, although I didn't raise anything at the hotel. We were in room 111. Big black stain in middle of the carpet. Large crack in the wall above easy chairs. Also shower quite outdated and difficult to use without getting scalded or up to your ankles in water. However, I would still return to this hotel but ask for a different room.

Very friendly and helpful staff at check in on arrival, and throughout our stay. We were given a free upgrade to superior double and it turned out to be one of the largest rooms we have ever stayed in, particularly for such a centrally located hotel in a city - with an absolutely huge bed which was amazing! Bar was lovely for a late afternoon drink after some retail therapy, if maybe a tad expensive. Breakfast was equally as lovely - all buffet basis with an extensive choice of fresh fruit and cereals, along with a good variety and choices of both continental and cooked/hot breakfast options which were all fresh and tasty!

Nothing!

Good central location, friendly staff. We had an important IVF appointment very close by and the staff let us stay in the car park longer if we needed. We didn’t but the sentiment was much appreciated. Being able to go out and about I’m the morning and then come back for our appointment which is emotionally stressful is greatly appreciated. In particular Charles on check-in and another member of staff who was also on shift at the same time but sadly I didn’t get their name! Thank you!

Nothing we didn’t like about the property. Just breakfast was lacking. Some things were not replenished for a while. Through no fault of the staff they were busy doing other things such as clearing tables etc.

Hotel is in a good location for easy access to Cardiff city centre. Staff were helpful and accommodating. This time staff took the time to explain how the power assisted door to the accessible room works. The accessible room is accessible, with plenty of room to turn the scooter. The coffee and biscuits were nice, as well.

It'd be really good, if you would get the wheelchair/scooter lift at the front mended, so that those of us with mobility needs can access hotel easily. Also, when staff say that you can call reception to be let in at the back door, it'd be good, if someone would answer the phone. Had I been on my own, I would've been stuck there for ages.

Great hotel - well located, helpful and nice staff who upgraded us and clean rooms. Bed was comfy and room was spacious and nice. Good bathroom and nice big windows for sunlight during the day with good curtains for keeping it dark in the morning for a sleep in. We would stay again!

The air conditioner turned itself off after a time and even with turning the auto setting off it would continually turn off - annoying overnight. Bed was comfy but as it often is in hotels was 2 beds pushed together and in this case they hadn’t put a topper on so they felt very seperate - not terrible as the bed was big and comfy but an easy fix if they just put a another layer under the sheet.

Good stay although I was disappointed that Cardiff itself had deteriorated since my last visit. The hotel was, however, overall good.

The reception area let the whole place down. Was unappealing and needs an upgrade. On top of the overall impression of the surrounding area with beggars (albeit very well spoken ones) I was not expecting a lot. That said, although my initial impression was poor and I was ready to walk away and cancel our booking, the receptionist was great and the room was more than acceptable. Breakfast was very good and the staff hard working and very personable and professional.

Absolutely great stay. Staff were friendly and efficient with enquiries I had over the phone before I arrived. I'd booked quite a while in advance so thank I got a good price. Friends staying the same time paid more. When we arrived we found we had a complimentary upgrade which was great. It was a really comfy bed. Clean. Good shower and a fridge to keep the bubbly cold. Excellent location as the club we were going to was around the corner. I got a complimentary birthday drink also.

Honestly nothing. It was perfect for my needs and the staff were great xx

Location was superb, bed was huge and comfortable, fridge in the bedroom was very handy. James on reception was lovely and helped us to move rooms when our initial rooms Air con was found not to be working.

Air conditioning was not working in the bedroom, it was like an oven, so we had to move to another room having already unpacked everything. The cost of everything was very expensive, we arrived by train but to park at the hotel would have cost an extra £28 per night. It was an extra £14 for breakfast, we had room only at £189 for one night, I would expect breakfast and parking should be included at that price. The barman who served us a drink on the Saturday night was surly and not exactly friendly or welcoming. We would have stayed for another drink but were put off.

Location is perfect for city centre shopping, bars, castle all walking distance. Rooms are clean and spacious, they have a refrigerator in the Room which is a bonus and air conditioning. TV has plenty channels. Wardrobe and plenty storage with iron and ironing board. Bathroom has bathtub and strong shower.

Unfortunately the public transport which is not the hotels fault but there is no direct transfer to the airport except for taxi. If you were to get a bus you'd have to connect to another bus or train to get from City to airport. Taxi is about 40 - 50 pounds

Really lovely hotel right in the centre and handy it has its own carpark. The staff were brilliant and attentive. We were very well looked after and want to say a massive thank you to the two members of staff who checked us in and looked after us well after a long drive. The activity packs for the children on arrival was a great touch as was the complimentary drink for us adults. We booked the family room and it was very spacious and I liked the room was split in two. lots of space for the kids to play with their toys as well as having space to relax. Nice, large clean bathroom with a range of bath products available. Most importantly the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and we would definitely stay here again.
