The staff was friendly and could speak English well. The insides of the Hotel are large which is unusual especially considering the price. There was a nice relaxing area and a modern clean kitchen space with a huge table. The terrace offered a great view. The dorm was very spacious, which made luggage deposition easy. Also the ventilation was good. I never felt like I was suffocating nor bathing due to high humidity. Amenities including sleep wear have been available for free. It’s in close proximity to the brick warehouses too. The toilets and shower where clean too. I was really surprised and can recommend.

The auto closing mechanism of my dorms door was too loud in my opinion. But thats all to criticise.

This is the best balance between affordable and comfort, as it was only a liitle bit more expensive than a bed in a dormitory for one room for 2 people. It was very nice to have a room for ourself, and even if the shower and toilet are shared, there is at least a sink whish was very useful for toothbrushing and basic washes without having to go out the room. The room is also very big. The placement is very great as it is near all the interesting places to see in Hakodate by foot, except a little further from Goryokaku. Also, everything that is useful is available (pyjama, towels, toothbrushes, etc). The employees were also very polite with us!

The only negative aspect is that the hotel closes in the evening, so you must be back before. But if I'm not mistaken, it was at midnight, so if you dont plan to go out all night this place is perfect. It was not a problem for me.

good location. near the pier and the slope with the pretty view. bus stops and tram stops nearby too. very big bath and shower room. room is quite spacious. love the smell of the hand wash/body soap/shampoo and also the fragrant spray provided. thank you for having us

for ourselves, we have nothing to complain, just note that i think it is not disability friendly ( mayb we just didnt see or notice the ramps or elevators? ), we stayed on the first floor so we just needed to lug our suitcases up and down a bit of stairs. not sure if there are elevators going up the upper floors.

The room was large and comfortable with a nice view. The bathroom was large and included a traditional bathing set up. The location was close to the waterfront area as well as being at the base of the Hachiman-Zaka Slope- a short walk to the Ropeway. Plenty of dining options within a 10 minute walk. The tram stops nearby and provides easy access to the JR train station or the wet market for a small fare.

If you do not pre-order a breakfast when you reserve the room you will find that there is nowhere nearby to have breakfast before 10 or 11 am. There was a cook in the hotel kitchen but we could not get a breakfast. We had to take the tram to the JR Station- with our luggage- to get breakfast on our way out of town. Not sure what they charge for breakfast but you might consider picking something up from 7-Eleven the night before!

Perfect location: close to the bay area, walking distance to the morning market and JR station (20 minutes). From the hotel, you can also walk up the slopes that lead to mount Hakodate, which is an interesting area to explore (around Motomachi park). The facilities look brand new and very clean. There's plenty of shared spaces, and the dormitory area is also spacious. Staff was very kind and helpful, they could all speak good English and could give me a few tips.

The men's toilets had a sanitizer dispenser to wipe the WC before/after use, but it was empty in all the available toilets.

The hotel is literally about 1 minute from the red brick buildings! And just a short walking distance from the famous historical buildings like the government buildings, british consulate, Russian orthodox church etc, the hachiman slope etc. Very nice interior with small library and other facilities like laundry The kitchen and roof top is also a surprise facility

There are no lifts on the "bank" wing which might be a problem if there are older person or with weak physical and if you have very heavy suitcases Room is quite tight but it has sufficient amenities. Bathroom is quite spacious despite the tight space in the room. The tub is bigger than the typical Japanese bath tub.

This is typical of a big modern hostel: it is well situated, everything is clean & works perfectly but...

... this is very un-human in a sense that there is no vibe in the hostel. On top of that, the guests can be very rude (noisy with their phones at night & banging doors early in the morning) & asocial (no one says 'hi', no one wants to share anything...). Typical of Japanese modern guesthouses where older guys take advantage of the price but don't behave like in a normal hostel. Therefore, it's a very strange experience. All in all, it's a bit expensive for what it has to offer.

Big room with a nice view, large shower cubicles and nice breakfast, with friendly staff.

If you have mobility concerns, be aware that accessibility is an issue - there are stairs up and then down to enter at both entrances and then, the elevator only goes in between floors, which are on split levels. Toilets and showers (none in room) are also on separate floors. (Wouldn’t have bothered me ordinarily, but I’d badly hurt my knee the day before arriving and stairs were painful, not to mention the added difficulty of negotiating luggage up & down multiple flights, which made me conscious of people who would find the venue inaccessible

right opposite red brick warehouse and behind is the slope to russian church and public hall. hotel provide towel, shampoo and shower gel, razor, toothbrush, kitchen with unlimited green teas, utensil, microwave, fridge, induction and tv in kitchen. the bunk is huge with locker. many lounge in the hotel with big area. roof is accessible from kitchen and able to view beautiful scene of port. must try mini scooter(for rent) but require international license. there is bar(open at night) at hotel lobby. it is abit pricey for bunk bed but worth it for location. it’s like 5 stars bunk bed hostel.

Staff were friendly and spoke English, the location was close to a small train station that connected to Hakodate Station. The roof is accessible which helps with a nice view and breeze. The bathroom was quite big and had a extra room for the shower and bath, which were very nice as well. Location wise it was pretty close, as in walking distance, to the Mount Hakodate Ropeway and also 3 minutes away from Shisha Kamui, which was a refreshing Hookah experience and the best I've had so far.

The breakfast was ok, but lacking. A drinking cup of broth, with bread, a croissant, some butter and a tomato, with a lot of salad. Compared to other breakfasts that I've had so far this was lacking. I'd recommend going to the morning market or a 7/11.
