The hotel is on a great place in Hiroshima right next to the Atomic Bomb Dome and Aioi bridge. Many popular places to visit are well withing walking distance and Miyajima is reachable easily via a tram right next to the Hotel. Hotel is also easily reachable from the JR station by a tram. Hotel staff were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout the stay. The facilities were in good condition with some wear here and there but at least to me that just contributes to the experience. The atmosphere felt really calm inside the hotel and you could rest easy after being in the crowds for the day. If you are looking for a traditional Japanese inn experience within a city then this is probably one of the best options for a stay in Hiroshima. Definitely would stay here again!

This is the best location in front of the dome and next to a very good okonomiyaki bar (inside Orizuru tower), walking distance to the museum, the boat ride to miyajima and the dome. The room is spacious and very clean. You take off your shoes to go around hotel. The breakfast is Japanese style, basic, and you can make your own egg with a small flame stove - directly at your table, served in a very nice room with windows overlooking the river/trees. The onsen facility is basic but efficient.

The carpet inside the lift can be updated so it is cleaner and more convenient for going around in socks.

Loved the welcome from the staff and the owner spoke to us directly, he was really proud of his hotel and he should be. We stayed in room 502 and had a great view over the dome. The room was very spacious. Japanese style room. But perfect for an authentic stay in Japan. Our name had been put on the welcoming board in the lobby. The breakfast was exceptional. Japanese style but they had westernised some options so it was really enjoyable. They had really thought through what their customers would enjoy. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. The location was perfect for the Dome, Peace Park and museum. There was even an on site onsen with view of the dome. A perfect stay.

Everything was great.

Centralised location, right next to the Peace Park. Direct ferry to and from Miyajima island. Alternatively, direct bus is just across the road, 80% cheaper than the direct ferry. Opposite to the bus terminal from Hiroshima airport.

staff speak little English and was not able to advice on the public transport. Though they were able to provide the correct directions, they were not able to advice like closings times of shops and last bus schedules

Great location! Overlooking Peace Park - our room looked out over the atomic bomb dome. It was a little loud in the evenings as it is close to a major road and the trams. The room was large and very clean although the bathroom was a little run down and the shower was terrible. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a traditional Japanese breakfast which you cooked yourself. This style of breakfast isn't my type of thing and the staff were accomodating and arrange some toast for me instead which was much appreciated. Would recommend staying here.

The bathroom could do with an update and definitely the shower head needs to be replaced.

Everything about our stay was terrific! The whole hotel is covered with tatami and guests had to remove their shoes on entering which made every part very cosy and homely. The staff attentive, helpful, and kind with requests; we were even allowed to go to the onsen with tattoos as foreigners. The room was spacious and looked luxurious with the window and small stone garden in front. Everything was clean and well taken care of. The location is close to all important tourist attractions in Hiroshima with the ferry to Miyajima only a few minutes away. There are multiple convenience stores around and a variety of restaurants to choose from. The main bus station is also really close, so it is easy to get to the airport with the limousine bus and fast to get to the main train station. We would definitely choose this stay again!

Honestly, there was nothing we could fault in our stay. We really loved everything! Maybe the option to turn on some brighter lights in the room would have been nice but honestly it didn't bother us even though we had to work for some time in the room.

The location can’t be better!! The rooms were very large and we could easily use extra futons and pillows to sleep more comfortably. The property was family owned and the staff were always there to welcome. We were provided with beautiful kimonos for the bath, including toed socks. Very close to the A-bomb Dome, Memorial park and the canal boat to Itsukushima - we could walk down before breakfast and make a reservation before the crowds arrived.

The public bath was quite basic and the hot bath too hot for our preference. The hotel was a bit aged, but clean and tidy. The staff were helpful but not very good at English, but with google translate we could make ourselves understood.

This hotel is amazing! You simply can’t beat the location as we had a direct view of the Atomic Bomb Dome from our window. The family room was spacious and very comfortable for a family of four. The location is super convenient as it was a short walk to the metro, restaurants, and the peace museum. We also really enjoyed the public bath. Unfortunately, we did not reserve breakfast, but definitely will next time. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Book this hotel if you have the opportunity as it is typically booked out months in advance.

Nothing. It was perfect.

I did not realise that I had booked a traditional Japanese Hotel. However this added to the charm. We were greeted at the door and removed our shoes. The family room relied on futons for bed and a low table. Very spacious compared to some of the more standard rooms that we have been in. So if this is not exciting then the location is fantastic - almost in the A Bomb Dome itself. Local restaurants are also good and we enjoyed okonomiyaki. Sadly we were not brave enough to try the 7th floor baths.

Not an issue but we had an excellent breakfast nearby. No breakfast available on site.

The staff were super lovely and the location was very central. It was a nice first ryokan experience in a beautiful city.

This is not a criticism of the hotel but of my own lack of preparation in knowing what sleeping on a tatami mat feels like. Please ensure if you book this hotel that you are prepared to sleep on a hard floor. A mat is just that, not a mattress. We had to stack spare tatami mats for any semblance of comfort and that may not be an option for travellers who have multiple people staying in their room.
