Absolutely amazing experience! The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, with comfortable beds that make you feel right at home. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, showcasing the hotel’s commitment to quality and comfort. The hospitality is exceptional – warm and attentive. If I had known sooner, I would have booked exclusively with The Share Hotels during my entire stay in Japan.
I had to work late at night a few times and really wished the lobby tables were available, but unfortunately, the space is closed during the night. This would have been especially helpful since the WiFi on the other floors isn’t very strong.

The hotel is extremely stylish with a general ambiance that makes it feel like I’m staying at a spa. There are lovely tea rooms and artwork on the walls. Though small, the tatami room was extremely comfortable. I slept so soundly through the night. The staff were also very helpful and friendly and the location is close to things like Oyama Jinja, the Kenrokuen park, Omicho market, the old samurai quarter, and more, plus major bus stops.
Basically nothing. I guess the night wear they provide could be more useful. Other Japanese hotels have had night wear you can wear in common spaces but these are not long enough and don’t have pants. And there’s no public bath. But really both of those things are super extras.

- Beautiful industrial aesthetic - Pleasant and helpful staff - Laundry/dryer easy to use - Loft bed was great for kids - Decent sized room for family - Just a nice looking space to be in - Good quality amenities such as pyjamas available - Walking distance to town, tourist spots (gardens, market, castle, old town) and train station, bus stop right outside
- No natural light: there were windows (well hidden!) but it faced a wall situated <1m away - The bed was hard and the pillows lumpy - Laundry only accepts 100 coin & no coin changer so forced to buy something from the vending machine next to it

Kumu was our favourite stay during our entire trip. The staff were absolutely incredible to us, so kind and helpful. They ordered us taxis, helped with our luggage and did things you would expect from a hotel with high quality service. They even helped us book a reservation for a restaurant we wanted to go to. Not to mention the attention to detail and aesthetics of the space downstairs and in the rooms are so exceptional. For the price and quality of stay, you can’t beat it! Location was also solid! Very central location too, walkable to any part of the city you want!

We stayed in the bunk room with 3 people and there was ample room to open all our suitcases! Nice surprise to have slightly more floor space in a Japanese hotel room. Beds were comfy and loved the toilet with an auto opening lid every time you walk into the toilet room. Live music at night and space to have dessert and drinks downstairs. The rooftop was also a great place to hangout. There are even shared spaces on some floors where you can enjoy tea together. Loved the design elements in the hotel too. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We asked for the wrong later breakfast time and the staff proceeded to ask other guests if they could switch with us instead so we wouldn’t miss out on breakfast. Would recommend this hotel!
We didn’t mind much but the room only had one small window near the top bunk. Means the room doesn’t get any sunlight at all.

We appreciated the art that we could observe inn each floor, and the classic, yet modern, japanese bedrooms and tea rooms. The staff went out of their way to help us with booking a restaurant, when we asked for a matsutake-dinner. They called a place and explained our dietary needs in japanese, so everything ended up perfectly. Really close the the castle grounds, garden, samurai district and shopping streets.
Sadly no onsen on the hotel, but everything else was so good - so the hotel still gets full score from us!

Beautifully designed modern ryokan-like hotel with art on each floor. Gorgeous tea rooms, good facilities and lovely materials. Spacious and very cool lobby, wonderfully helpful staff, specially Yuka, whose warm smile and absolute determination to ensure all was right was not only endearing but outstanding. My second time KUMU Kanazawa, and I look forward to my third!

Extremely helpful staff, laidback atmosphere and a good selection of facilities (the washer is really a plus), entertainment (DJ with a fine taste of funk, soul, Japanese city pop) and cool design that is both functional and beautiful to look at.
The only real minus for me the setup of my room. The floor had varying levels, which made it easy to trip or hurt yourself. I actually fell a few times. Also because the bathroom had a different level the comfort of the room was a bit below subpar.

Great location -- Not closest to the train station, but at a major street and within walkable distance to major tourist attractions. Obviously a building repurposed into a hotel, room design is in "industrial style". Room size is on the small side though. We were there during the Noto earthquake. The hotel staff was very supportive, trying their best to restore hotel functions. They proactively provided updates about transportation status (trains and buses), they offered to extend my stay if needed, and they helped me to call my next hotel as my trip was affected. Thank you very much for your excellent service at a difficult time!

Stunning design, beautiful room, very trendy, great staff. Location good. Super clean. Rooms presents bigger on photos.
Incredibly expensive compared to anywhere we stayed in Japan over 2 weeks. With no inclusions (a drink or breakfast or welcome cup of tea..). We paid more for one night than other 5 star Ryokans with meals included. This must have been due to accommodation supply shortage as there was a sporting event in Kanazawa over this weekend, so perhaps we were just unlucky with timing.
