Very rarely will you fall in love with a place, but one of the most wonderful things about travelling and living is those rare moments, the beautiful ones that you find without even thinking about it. I didn't expect to come here, but the it is one of the best places and I always wonder about when I will be coming back. The staff here are lovely people, every one of them so wonderful to get to know. I reminisce about this hostel and the good times we had here!

The staff are very attentive and gave great recommendations! Very cute little setup making it super easy and simple to meet other traveller's the way the common area is designed. Showers are nice and super high pressure. Close to the zoo 😁 and cable car is easy to get to by bus.

Quite crammed not a lot of space although that's part of the old Japanese charm and the staircases are fairly hectic so heavy suitcases can be challenging. The private rooms were okay although if you're a light sleeper probably won't recommend staying at the hostel as the Hankyuu rail way line runs basically 10m from your pillow. If you're big on cooking your own meals the kitchen is very limited.

The place was really nice, comfortable, and make you feel like you're at home. In the main area, it's very easy to find friends and people to gather with. The location, it’s near the train station and there have shops and cute restaurants around. The stuff was super nice helpful and helps me in very bad situation I was in, even though they didn't need to. And it was way over their responsibilities about me. Thank you so much in the whole stuff, about all your support when i needed. I wish all the best for all of you 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻 I really recommend this place, and this calm and beautiful city 🌸

Quirky Hostel. Very nice management. Even though I’m a light sleeper with earplugs the train noise didn’t bother me that much which was a surprise. The stairs are quite steep but the management did help me with my little suitcase. Clean room. I thought that the location was convenient: between the cable car to the herb garden and the cable car to the mountain. Please note that the cable car to the mountains are not in service on Tuesdays but the one to the herb garden does run. There are coin lockers at the station for bags and such.

4 people bedroom has the most comfy and soft beds that I ever slept! I will 100% stay with them again when I come back to Kobe, best vibe from staff and helpful. Ps: nearby to tattoo friendly onsen, it was great!

Personally I don’t mind, but I don’t recommend this venue for people who are sensitive to noise, the train rails are next to the Guesthouse. Also if you have heavy luggage, like suitcase, this guesthouse has thin and high stairs. Those are just observations, not reservations at all!

Oh man, where to begin. The guesthouse has a great vibe and the place is decorated nicely. I stayed in a single bedroom and it was very spacious! You can meet a lot of great people at this place and the staff itself has an elaborate map of the area around, including free ropeway passes to get to Mt. Maya!

It's a bit nitpicky but the plug to charge my phone was a bit far away from my bed. If you have a long cord, you're good. That's all I can think about.

I loved my stay at Maya!! All the staff were super friendly and so kind. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable, and the showers were a good water pressure. It's well connected to both the Hankyu railway and the JR lines, as well as walking distance to the Earthquake Museum/Memorial, and there's loads of places to eat within a five minute walking radius. I will definitely come back!

The top floor toilet (that I was on) is really small, to the point where i couldn't sit on the seat properly as my knees didn't quite fit, so I had to go down one floor to the bathroom a lot.

This is a charming little hostel! The people who work here are friendly and knowledgable about the area, and they give great recommendations. The communal area has a laid-back vibe and charming decor. While the location won't be ideal for some people - the nearby trains can be noisy, and it's not in a vibey area - it has a charm of its own. The nearby Suidosuji shopping street has nice fresh produce and some charming little stores. The railway bridge right next to the hostel has little shops and studios beneath it, with a carpentry shop and studio right across the road. It's near Nada train station, from where it's easy to get to the city centre or other places.

There isn't really anything that I strongly dislike about this place. As they warn on the website, the building is old, and sound travels a lot, so the earplugs that are kindly provided are helpful.

Everything was clean, comfortable and super cute! The atmosphere is really chill, I met a lot of nice people. The staff is awesome! The wifi works well on any floor. There is a cool rooftop area too. Also the location is convenient. There’s train station, convenience stores, bars and coffee shops next door. Everything was perfect. I had an awesome stay, thank you!!

I really enjoyed the people who stayed at the hostel. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and generous. I received a map with local recommendations, which made it easy and fun to explore the Maya area.

The location of the hostel was very close to the train tracks, so there would periodically be light and sound that could be heard and seen through the windows at night.
