Hotel Villa Fontaine Kobe-Sannomiya

The property was very close to the train station about 4 minutes walk. The hotel lobby was at the 5th floor and it was pretty. The room was clean and comfortable, bed is big enough for two, the bathroom is also has good amount of space. The room has a nice couch, and our room was sunny in the afternoon which is nice specially on a cold day. Soundproofing was very good. Cleaning staff were nice and respectful. The reception spoke good english which makes it easier. They were also very kind to help us send our luggages through Ta Q Bin to our next accommodation. They had open bar from 5pm to 8pm with some snacks. They also have free water when you arrive which is thoughtful. Overall it was a very good stay for us.

The room was rather small but the bed was comfortable for me. I loved their breakfast, they had these cute mini croffle and grilled sandwich stations. The pastries at breakfast were wonderful and freshly baked. Great selections of delicious tea at the coffee lounge that you can enjoy freely. There was also an interesting wine vending machine that unfortunately we didn’t get to try. Loved how they carefully curated some local Kobe products in the food & drink. Location wise is close walking distance to the JR Sannomiya station and next door is a supermarket!

Almost nothing, maybe just the lady staff at the breakfast that didn’t seem too friendly. Overall I think the service here could be better.

The room, the location, the free drinks during happy hours .. everything was perfect. Except the booking system.

The only thing I didn’t like was the booking system. 1) They propose single bed room for two people so unless you check you may end up in a very small bed. 2) even after checking and picking comfort double room I was surprised to learn that there was no bathroom in the room. Surprising for a comfort room. So I had to cancel and rebook comfort room with bathroom. The whole hotel is nice and I ended up happy with my hotel room. The only surprising thing is the structure of their room, be cautious when you book.

The property is wonderful. the rooms is a bit small but adequate for the few nights we stayed before the cruise. the lobby is on the 5th floor and open 24H with English speaking staff. the service was above and beyond. Right beside was a supermarket, big Daiso and tax free beauty store.

Because of full occupancy the internet did not work. They were very apologetic about it and gave us a unit to help boost the signal <did not help) but it still was quite inconvenient. on day of check out the internet worked. if not full occupancy, you should have no problems with this.

The decor at the lobby was quite fancy and the staff were very welcoming and professional. They also provided the guests with free drinks and food at the lounge for a Happy Hour promotion. The room itself was slightly small, but not necessarily tight. It was very clean and cozy, and the bathroom was likewise clean. The amenities nearby were convenient, with a coin laundry and vending machine in the same floor.

There were issues with checking-in, specifically on the side of the hotel's system. However, this only resulted in a slight delay for our check-in, and the staff were able to process our booking quickly. The booking itself was quite expensive for the room size.

The hotel location is good, pretty central and around 6 minute walk from Sannomiya subway and JR line. The room was pretty spacious (for Japan standards) and infact had plenty of space to spare even after putting in all our luggage. Another good aspect was that they had prepared some drinks (milk, tea, coffee etc) in the lobby which was open 24x7 and which guests could use as a dining area any time with their own food.

Nothing much to complain.

Did not have the breakfast, unfortunately. They did have a free happy hour setup, but if I recall correctly there was no beer with it, only wine, which was OK, and some other hard liquors which I don’t drink. Not sure why any place would serve free drinks and NOT have beer, it’s easy and cheaper for the establishment to do so vs. serving wine, whiskey, etc.

The staff are wonderful from check-in to check-out. The staff contacted me when I didn't notice the lost accessory. An excellent hotel where we can feel the hospitality at a reasonable price

It is difficult to understand where to hold the room card key sensor of the elevator on the lobby floor. I am sorry to have to call the busy staff. Without this, the rating would be 10. This is an improvement, not a complaint. .

Complimentary drinks of tea and coffee. The customer service is excellent. The staff are helpful, friendly and exceptionally professional. Exceeded my expectations. Good facilities, microwave in common area for reheating take away food. Every floor has vensing machine, ice maker and washing machines.

The room with twin beds with extra bed is too small.
