Room is clean and the location is within 7 minutes walk to Kyoto station, which has the JR, the Shinkansen and the local subway. The bus terminal is also nearby so getting around is super easy. We got the executive room, which is spacious and has a private entry where you can put shoes and small luggage. There is even a massage chair in the room! The hotel is also connected to the underground so there is no worry about getting wet in the rain. There is an escalator and an elevator that take you from the underground up to the floor of the hotel lobby. There is a Don Quijote with a minute walk, and the food options between the hotel and Kyoto station are plenty. Kyoto tower is with a minute walk. The Yodabashi building next to the hotel has a grocery market in the basement, and a large electronics store where you can get batteries, power adapters, and other electronics. The hotel even has washer/dryers on Level 2 for you to do some quick laundry (cost between 100 yen to 500 yen depending on whether you are washing or drying or both). The nice thing is you can check the status of the machines from the TV in your room! You also do not need to bring your detergent or washing powder!

The location is the best. It's very convenient to use the underpass after coming out from train station. If taking bus, it's very near to the bus stop too. The hotel is quiet and the room is comfortable. The coin laundry also provides great convenience as it's fully automated with washing and drying combined, and you can check the availability and status in your room's TV.

The buffet breakfast could be improved. The options are rather limited comparing to other hotels, and also they didn't change the dishes on daily basis, so we ended up having the same buffet spread for 4 days. The layout of the executive double room is a little strange as the wardrobe for hanging clothes and shoe closet is way inside the room at one corner, which a person has to either go through the toilet or walk one big round around the bed to reach it. This is causing slight inconvenience.

Located centrally next to Kyoto station (bullet train and locals/regionals), bus station, and a large taxi rank, we couldn't have asked for a better place from which to travel on foot, by train and bus, and to book longer-distance travel. Lots of eating places, from ersatz French to traditional Japanese. Large rooms by Japan standards, good amenities including coin laundry, secure premises, spacious bathroom with separate shower and tub.

Needs a fitness center, on site Vietnamese restaurant, which doubles as a very good breakfast buffet in the morning, is lousy, the food hardly resupply any distinguishable cuisine. Luckily, there were many other restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel, so we were well-fed during our stay.

The room was nice, clean and fairly spacious. Great amenities, especially the coffee. I liked the bathroom layout, with a shower space next to the bathtub and a glass door separating them from the toilet. All staff I had contact with was very friendly and could speak english. Room cleaning during my stay was excellent. Location is good. 4min walk from Kyoto Station and plenty of restaurants and shops next to the hotell and along the street. The coin laundrette was clean and you can check availability on the TV in your room. Early morning and evening was busy, but it still wasn't impossible to catch a free machine. I enjoyed my stay here very much!

The staff at the reception are amazing. The hotel is located just 6 minutes walk from Kyoto station. Surrounded by many many restaurants and a shopping area. The bus station is just 4 min walking distance. And there is a very beautiful garden 7 min walking disaster. The rooms are bigger than the usual in Japan. Amenities are available at the reception you get everything you want even oil for your hair. The most touching things I really liked is how the reception staff would great me every time I enter the hotel. Check in is 14:00 and again the reception staff are beyond helpful. Specifically Mr Chang. If you deal with him your life will be much easier. The rooms are cleaned with care every time you ask. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The room is quite small to the American but quite big in Japan, especially the room has bath tub. The location is excellent, very center and ease access to most of the tourist attractions in Kato by bus or train. They have prepared some facial caring samples, hair oil ball in the lobby for the customers to take .

You have to pick up all the necessary toiletries, for example : tea bags, coffee bag, face lotion, facial cleaner, ……from the lobby. On the first day, there was miscommunication on reminding us to pick up all the toiletries, so we don’t have any necessary toiletries in the room.

Location is great for trains and busses. Hotel can be accessed through the underground shopping mall from the railway station as can the Kyoto Tower. Donguri restaurant next door is great too!

Only 3 x washing machines in the laundry with no queueing system so it was quite busy. Other Daiwa Roynets we stayed had more which was helpful, but the TV access to the machines availability is a great bonus!

Very close to the station with lots of nearby restaurant options. The room was spacious and the bathroom was incredible. Lots of great amenities too -- I especially liked all the different bath salts! Staff was very helpful as well.

The beds were comically firm. Like, so firm that I burst out laughing when I sat on one and almost bounced right off again, it was so hard! As a result I had a hard time falling asleep the first day or so, but this is down to personal preference and isn't a reflection of the quality of the hotel in any way.

Excellent stay. Centrally located near all transport hubs, restaurants, bars and tourist operators. The room I stayed in was much larger than the average size rooms I’m used to Japan. It had larger bed and bathroom as well. The staff were extremely helpful and also spoke English. The rooms were clean and the cleaners also made sure I had fresh towels each morning. I Would happily recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning to visit Kyoto. The place has many beautiful sites to see and I would happily stay at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel if I ever visit Kyoto again in Future I would also like to thank the 4 staff members at the reception desk when I checked in. They were extremely helpful, polite, and greeted me with a very nice welcome.

The hotel staff were friendly and did there best to help, even in English. The room I stayed in was bigger than the average hotel rooms in Japan for the price I paid. It had a larger bed and bathroom as well. The rooms were clean and the cleaning staff made sure I had fresh towels each day. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to visit Kyoto. It’s a beautiful place to visit and will stay at this hotel again if I ever visit Kyoto in future. Thank you to the 4 reception staff who were extremely polite and greeted me with a nice welcome during check-in.
