The facilities were fantastic and it was a great location. Comfortable futon beds and Japanese breakfast and we loved the added touch of the free traditional robes to wear at night. We thought the staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. We were able to leave our luggage for the day after we had checked out. We loved the public baths and would definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

Super nice people, it helps if you speak Japanese though. I used google-translate app to communicate, but it nothing against the staff - it IS Japan, not USA! :) They were super helpful and super kind to me, very helpful. Just watch out - you need to be back by 12.30am.

wifi kept dropping or being super slow :( that was probably the only negative, otherwise I'm happy.

Food was GREAT! Rooms were very clean. I could not find any dust! A first for my many stays at various riyokans around Japan. Honestly very clean. well done staff!

I think there was a discrepancy between what is written on Booking.com and what is offered. We booked this hotel because booking.com says it has in room meals as part of the ameneties, however, when we got to the hotel they said that was not available on booking.com, but it is available on other websites. I thought that was weird. They said as a compromise we could have our second meal in our room. the breakfast buffet was nice, but other guests were ill and coughing on the trays of open food while not wearing a mask. I did not partake in breakfast after seeing that customer cough without a mask. not exactly the hotel's fault.

There’s public bathroom on the basement. there’s also kimono and sleepwears to use. And not to forget, it was very near to the kyoto station!

The entrance room is somewhat too narrow for the stroller to enter, so we must pick it up first to close our door

Wifi was a bit sketchy as well as the customer service. We did not have wifi on our first day and the stuff did not say there were any problems. On the contrary they said that the problem is likely with our phones and computers. On the next day the wifi started working. We did not do anything on our end - so I assume the problem was on their end.

It was the lowest quality hotel with metal room doors we had in Japan with similar price! Although this one was the most expensive one! The room didn’t have a good window to see the street! Metal doors, low quality of futons and pillows! Low quality of towels! You are not allowed to come inside of the hotel between 12:30-5 am! You also have to give the room key back when you leave the hotel! Our room was shaking from the ground and not sure what it was! Definitely not recommend!

very modest considering the price, we were not told at all that the hotel has a spa department.
