This hostel is incredible and this for several reasons : - First, the staff is extremely kind and devoted - The hostel is located near Kyoto Station and the area is cool at night with a lot of restaurant, konbinis, shops.. Shichi-jo subway station is 10 mins away by walk and bus 206 that brings you to Higashiyama is just in front of the hotel. - Everything is SO clean and quiet. People are respectful. I felt super safe as a solo traveler. - The room was larger than i expected which was a great surprise. Everything was super clean. They provide a hair dryer, a cute mirror, tissue boxes. The bathwroom was clean and large enough. - Free wifi worked perfectly for me. - I payed 150 bucks for 5 nights which is extremely cheap. Thank you so much for this amazing experience 🥰

Maybe the futon was a little thin, but it was fine really.

Very close to the train. Friendly desk personnel. We were able to store our luggage pre-check in so we could explore a bit without our baggage, and after check out so we could grab lunch with more freedom as well. Traditional room was clean and comfy - we got one with a private bathroom and it was very convenient. They were able to squeeze in an extra mattress for our toddler (at an additional small fee) which helped us all sleep better. They warned us it would be a little crowded in our room with the three beds, but since they fold up very easily we didn't have any issue. There was also closet space for luggage.

Stairs only, which could be difficult depending on your physical capabilities, and amount of luggage. They took our luggage up for us though, so we only had to deal with it checking out and even staying on the third floor it wasn't much of an issue.

I would highly recommend this hostel for a few nights stay in Osaka. The hostel is close to tokyo station and few bus stops that takes you to major attractions are nearby. There are some nice sake bars in close vicinity of the hostel. But the best thing about this stay is the staff. They are really helpful and cheerful people and they speak fluent English. I had a nice chat with Joey and Emiko about japanese culture, their life and learnt some new things.

slight issue with some of the lockers in dorm rooms have tight latches which can be difficult to operate. Would be nice to have those fixed. But again not a big issue as such. They do work. 🙂

The hostel is located just 550m, or an 8-minute walk, from Kyoto Station. There are restaurants and convenience stores nearby. There is also a coin laundry just a 10-minute walk (750m) away. We stayed in a four-bed dorm room located on the ground floor. The room was clean. Each bed has a curtain for privacy, a lamp, and two power outlets. It is the guest's responsibility to put on the bed cover and pillow case. The guest is also expected to remove the sheets and pillow case after. In the room was a shelf, locker (if I remember correctly, you need to bring your own padlock), and hangers. On the ground floor is one shared shower room, two sinks, and two toilets. (You can also use the shower rooms and toilets on the second floor.) There is also a common room and kitchen. Towels are for rent for 100 yen.

We found a live insect—I think it was a silverfish—on one of the beds.

The bed is spacious, with enough space for both my big and smaller backpack, plus a locker, hanger, socket and light. And curtains all around the bed. I also loved the wooden structure, it felt peaceful and cozy to get into the bed. I really liked all that. Also, the common areas are great to cook or eat some take away, grab a tea, meet other tourists... I actually made some friends there and explored some areas together so it was great. And the staff was really nice, they all have a young vibe and were always wishing a good day and giving recommendations for my trip!

The bed was quite hard compared to other futons I've slept at in other hostels and houses. As I said, I loved the bed space but the comfort of it is not the best. I'm not very picky about it so I would still recommend, but just for you to know if that's very important to you.

Staff were a particular highlight. The communal kitchen was excellent and very clean - more so than most hostels with communal kitchens. Nice to have the traditional room but the cost much lower than alternatives. Fantastic location and some excellent recommendations of places to eat that ticked our boxes, e.g. we had specific dishes we wanted to try, and the prices of the places were low, but the quality was brilliant. Similar to the hostel. Would happily stay again and recommend to others.

I’d say kind and helpful staff first. Even though I only had 1 night there, all of them treated me in a really friendly manner. The hostel looks more like a traditional Japanese house so give it a try instead of staying in a typical western style dorms. The kitchen offers free coffee and tea, which is also a nice plus. Overall all common areas were pretty clean and well organised. Walking distance from Kyoto station and has many local restaurants nearby. Most guests are young backpackers from all over the world so the hostel was quite social.

Facilities are a bit aged but all worked well so not a big problem. Room size was quite smaller than I thought, so after ppl in the dorm put there big backpacks, not much space left to walk around.

I liked the old school Charme of the hostel and everything was very clean. It is like 30 walk from the Gion district, but it’s also interesting to walk a bit. It is close to the Kyoto main station (like 6 min walk), which is perfect. Everything was very thoughtful in my room and very very clean. I liked that a lot and I felt safe.

It was a tiny bit noisy, but it depends on the neighbors and shouldn’t be a minus for the hostel. Sleeping on tatami is a cool experience but after 4 nights I miss a bit a softer bed. But if someone doesn’t care about that- go for it!

What I liked about this hostel was staff and location, very close to Kyoto bus/train station 4/5 minutes walking distance. Staff: Emiko, Koki, Joey, were all helpful and courteous. No breakfast however, free tea/ coffee and green tea available 24/7. Kitchen/ fridge/ washing machine available for cooking/ washing and storing stuff. Wifi was good , small and quite hostel . overall it was a great hostel to stay near to main station. NOTE: Carry your own toiletries and bath towel or pay 100 yen rent for towel.....Which is fine with me.

Nothing really.

Very near to Kyoto main Station Walking around 5mins Near Yodobashi mall so you can shopping if needed for new clothes (GU, Uniqlo etc). The host very kind Washing machine at the outside (before 10 pm only) with 200yen and dryer 100yen. Iron can rent at the counter. Unlimited coffee.

The toilet don’t have bidet. No lift for older people. But they can help you to carry the beg upstairs.
