Located in a tourist area, near by a big temple. Convinced shops and cafe, restaurants are all around. Slippers inside, very clean, good kitchen with all appliances to cook, big fridges, sofa, guitar, coffee, tea, good locker room, a bed is very spacious, mattress and pillow, bed sheets are good. Air con, a mirror are in the room. Light, charging space, take your adapter or Ask for at the reception. Extra charge for towels. Enough toilets and shower rooms. I even had a pleasure to take a bath on the first floor. They take care about the noise which is very important. Umbrellas also provided. Staff is super helpful and welcoming!!! Feels like a warm hug being there.

Location was excellent - 5-minute walk from the main Kyoto station (access to shinkansen, JR lines, and subway) - yet quiet and safe area. Staff were super friendly and helpful and gave good recommendations of things to see and do in the area. Facilities always clean. Price reasonable. Heat pumps in private rooms and dorms.
Dorm doors lock with actual keys, which can be hard to coordinate with 6+ people, so result is the door is often not locked. Not a huge problem as the hostel felt quite safe (not a party hostel) but keycode door locks would just be an additional layer of security that some travellers might appreciate.

Very friendly staff, very easy to talk to. Most of the staff spoke very good English and gave nice recommendations for the area. The common area and all of the facilities were very clean and modern, absolutely no problems. High quality hostel. Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from the main Kyoto Station.
My only complaint is that the showers have an interesting handle design, you press the lever down and it starts the water but you have to keep pushing it periodically to keep water flowing. Slight inconvenience in an otherwise excellent hostel.

great location close to public transport. A great common kitchen, although this tended to be crowded. Nice with umbrella to borrow. Welcoming personal. Felt safe as a solo traveller. Would recommend to others.
The dorm was located by the sink, and someone used the hairdryer in the middle of the night. could be more signa for keeping quiet at night and early morning. No clear rules for the use of keys to the dorm, one girl didnt bring hers and had to wake us up. she turned out mad that we were locking the door. Could have offered at least one towel to borrow for free.

The location is great. Bus stops nearby and a short walk to Kyoto Station. The bunk beds are comfortable. The shared lounge and kitchen are well maintained. The staff are also amazing. All were very kind, interesting, and informative. They spoke great English as well. I was lucky enough to spend the New Year in Kyoto, and one of the staff took us to a local temple on the 31st at night. It was a phenomenal experience, with almost no other foreigners and tourists. It was incredible to witness the culture. The volunteers of the temple even provided us with soba and let us ring the bell. They were very enthusiastic and supportive of us partaking, and so that was very sweet
The only small thing I could critique is the showers. The majority of them require you to press a lever every 10-20 seconds for water to continue. This isn’t even uncommon in Japan, but nonetheless it is a little annoying

The hostel can't be called hostel. I'd say HOTEL even. Great and friendly staff. Amiko is the best. All of them are so kind and helpful. They'd give you their last underwear if needed 😂 The cleanliness is exceptional. The location is even better. The best place to stay at. Trust me. You won't regret.
It's not about the hostel or anything. About stupid people who have no respect for others. It's said to be quiet after specific time but some people think they're unique and are allowed to do whatever they want. The walls are really thin. You can hear someone sneezing on the first floor, while you live on the third 😉. That's why it was really irritating when my neighbors (next door) didn't care about anyone but themselves. They listened to music at night, yelled, spoke in the phone very loudly and so on. It's only foreigners who could do that. I hardly can imagine a Japanese who doesn't respect others. Impossible!

Staff - reception staff were so friendly and I really appreciated all their help, from suggestions to helping me complete my form to deliver my luggage to Tokyo. Room - plenty of space, super clean and really fun to sleep on the floor - super comfortable too! Location - the BEST! It was so easy to get to the station, there's a Lawson like 1 min walk away and also a really nice place for drinks just a few steps away too.
I did have one of the cleaners (?) try and enter my room when I was just coming out of the shower which startled me a little since there's no lock from the inside... So maybe something to consider for the hostel to start including a simple lock (which most hotels do have).

If you like Japanese style rooms with tatami mats, you'll like this place. When I checked in, they had a namecard on my bed to welcome me. This place is small and cozy but has all the facilities needed (shower, bathtub, bidet, washing machine, dryer, hairdryer, etc). The bed and bathrooms were clean. It's within 5 minutes walkable to Kyoto Station. The hosts of the place (especially Emiko-san) are very delightful to talk to. They'll even give you suggestions to explore Kyoto Station. They have made handmade drawings showing the popular spots in the main hall to help you decide. When you come back to the hostel, they greet you with your name. Small things like this makes the experience enjoyable. There's a common area, where you can get free coffee and tea. If you want to stay here, book the rooms at least 3 days in advance. I wanted to extend my stay here but they were fully booked (even in June).

The location was great and only 7-8 minutes away from Kyoto station. The room was clean and staff was polite and helpful. I liked that there’s washing machine and dryer for use at a low price. Overall it’s a lovely stay with great value for money.
The ventilation of the bathroom could be better.

Staffs are friendly and responsive. The hostel is good located, about 10min walking from Kyoto station. The room and other areas are clean. There are utensils and other amenities available in the kitchen. Soap, shampoo, conditioner and hairdryer are available in the bathroom / toilet area. Quiet in the bedroom, beds have curtains.
Would be nicer if there is a window in the bedroom. Not a dislike, only unusual and a bit time consuming; we have to put the sheets by ourselves.
