We really weren’t here for long, so, I can’t say too much. We arrived late at night and left early in the morning. Staff were very nice and kind enough to store our luggage while we explored the area the next day. Excellently placed for the train station (jr line for rail pass holders), which also happens to be next door to the Sagano railway hall. Very easy to get there in time for on the day tickets even at a peak time. Also very well placed for an early pleasant walk to Bamboo forest. Although, my I recommend continuing through to the pathway and viewpoint (it’s very crowded, even in the early am). Corner shop is also minutes away with pretty late opening hours.

The staircase was incredibly steep. I was a bit worried about my daughter in the night.

very close to the JR station and main street the host is extremely friendly and provided helpful information though we can only use the shared toilet and shower, there are not many guests per night, it's not inconvinient .

Extremely friendly host who gave us some recommendations for local restaurants and things to do. The guesthouse's in a walking distance to Arashiyama main area and it's also surrounded by decent food places.

Best part were recommendations for dinner from the host and his quick responses. Also supper close to train station. Clean and warm (I was there in winter). Enjoyed the Japanese style bedding!

This is a great smaller property in the heart of Arashiyama. It was such a comfortable stay in this tradition Japanese room. The area is so close to train and it’s a boutique hotel with great customer service.

Very friendly and helpful host. Even when I paid for a shared room I had the whole room for myself. It was the first time for me sleeping on futons on tatami and it was surprisingly comfy.

Perfect location for getting to bamboo forest, monkey park, bridge, kimono forest and temple. So helpful with check in. Had laundry and fridge I used.

Great place. Very helpful host. Shared bathroom but all amenities provided. Room size good enough for 4. 2 mins walk from Saga-Arashiyama station. Strongly recommended.

Near to JR Saga Arashiyama station. Direct train from Kansai Station.
