Breakfast was delivered to the room. Staff was super accommodating and was an absolute pleasure to have stayed at Nagi Arashiyama Kyoto. I'll come back whenever I can. Location is a bit far off but nothing longer than a 15minute walk to get to the main area. Which is excellent since it's far enough from the crowd but close enough to get there. Room is HUGE and fantastic. Really didn't want to leave the bed it's probably the best bed I've slept in, even better than the one I own. I might want to go again just to sleep!!! Cleanliness is 100%! Love this place. You will NEVER regret booking this hotel.

Nothing could have been better.

This hotel was 10/10 perfect. The facilities, breakfast and staff were all lovely! I really appreciated how kind and attentive the staff was to us- and our personalized note in the room when we arrived was so sweet! It is in a quieter part of Arashiyama, away from the busy tourist streets but close enough to walk everywhere and near the station. We would definitely stay here again on a trip to the Kyoto area.

The only thing we would suggest to the property is a place to properly hang wet towels from our showers/bath. Otherwise the property is perfect!

The room was huge! Not only was there a comfortable king sized bed, it also had a futon couch which was great for lounging. The bathroom was also huge with a split toilet area and sink/bath area. When we arrived, they gave us a glass of refreshing tea, had a lovely little handwritten note in our room, they delivered our bags to our room while we were out, and they had a Nespresso machine and the prettiest little tea set to drink some lovely tea.

The view is mostly just of the street (though there are the bamboo mountains in the background, but really this is so minor compared to how lovely everything was.

This is a small boutique hotel that was a fabulous place to stay at. The room was quiet and comfortable. The bed was exceptionally nice. There was an espresso machine in the room. The staff were incredibly attentive. We were able to check in a little early, it was no problem. The shower was wonderful. The location is very convenient, being less than a 5 minute walk to the train. It is a great base of operations to visit downtown Kyoto (15 min train ride away), or maybe Osaka, and then come back to the quiet and calm environment this hotel and neighborhood offers. The bamboo forest, the river, along with multiple day hikes, begin after a short 15 minute walk. This was the nicest hotel we stayed at in Japan, and we'd absolutely come back.

It is really hard to find anything wrong with this hotel. The neighborhood is very quiet, and there are not many restaurants close by. There is a convenience store across the street, though. Maybe consider having at least one television station that is in English (like maybe CNN), and/or having a YouTube option on the TV.

The location was the best for exploring Arashiyama. A short walk (a few minutes) to Saga Arashiyama station, a convenience store, and delicious restaurants. About a 15-20 minute walk away is the main sightseing area of Arashiyama (bamboo forest, Togetsukyo Bridge, Tenryuji, etc). We also enjoyed the Japanese style shower/tub and comfy bed. Most of the staff also speak some English and most instructions/info were in English and Japanese so communication wasn't an issue. We really enjoyed our stay here and would gladly stay here again.

Ive been traveling frequently for the last 10 or so years. This hotel is easily in my top 5 hotels that Ive stayed at. Great service, the rooms are spacious, the location is perfect. Ive had the best sleep in this hotel. This time, I only booked for a night because we were passing by, but the next time I come, Im going to exclusively book this hotel. The staff is really nice and very welcoming. The hotel and the rooms - BY FAR - surpassed my expectations and looked even better in person. Ive gotten used to living in smaller rooms when coming to Japan, so this was a very welcome and surprising change from the standard- loved everything!

Im obligated to write something I didnt like; Ive generally been very happy and cant find fault, so this is me nitpicking. I wish there was a later checkout option made available, or checkout was a bit later. Not an issue at all because you are given this information beforehand.

Excellent hospitality and enthusiasm from every staff. Helped me to research good restaurants in and around the neighborhood, called, booked even printed enlarged maps to prevent me from getting lost. Great teamwork spirit. Also good room size with very good toiletries. We stayed 2 nights in 2 different room type snd found the layout in 402 more practical and comfortable.

Light switches were confusing. Hooks needed in bathroom and dressing area. No English Tv channel at all.

One of the nicest stays during our entire trip - Staff were all incredibly kind, ever-present, helpful, went above and beyond - Every aspect of the room felt like an interior design study (shout out to the bathroom stool) - Most amazing shower of my life - Private little garden nook that you can look out at through a window - Location is fantastic, in a quiet area but just 10 mins walk away from the action in Arashiyama and 5 min from the station

Nothing at all it was perfect

Everything. The room was immaculate and spacious. Staff could not have been kinder or more attentive. I loved having breakfast in bed. The location was perfect - far away enough from the main areas to avoid the crowds at night but close enough to easily walk to the bamboo forest and river. If I am ever in Kyoto again this is where I’ll stay!

That I couldn’t stay longer.

Beautiful small hotel with a large room and king sized bed! Espresso coffee and tea available, lovely large shower and vanity with separate water closet. Very clean and quiet. Short walk to Saga Arashiyama station, bamboo forest, and monkey park. Very friendly, polite staff - they also have umbrellas available for guests. I highly recommend. This was my favorite hotel of our entire two week trip.
