Room was comfy and clean. Powerful shower. Coin laundry machines provided on site. Location was excellent - right by Marutamachi subway.

Lifts full of confused young people riding them in the wrong direction - often had to wait more than 10 minutes to get down as no staircase (except emergencies). Staff tried to insist on checking my zairyu card, but there's no legal requirement as a foreign national in Japan to show any ID. I refused as per my legal and human rights, which caused a huge amount of fuss, despite the fact I've stayed at 20+ hotels in Japan last year with no issue.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and spoke pretty good English. The subway entrance was just few doors down and the bus stops were on the corners across the street a short walk away. There was a Hotto Motto right next door which was great because we checked in late and all the restaurants at Tokyo station were closing. There was also a cool coffee shop a couple minutes walk away that my husband loved called School Bus, and McDonalds and a Family Mart just a few minutes walk down the way also.

Hubby is 6ft so the tub was short for him, but deep, so he could squeeze in. Other than that, we loved it.

The room is spacious and the hotel is very close to the Metro station. We love the buffet breakfast, excellent value for money. the staff is also really helpful. As we don’t speak Japanese, Lina at the reception made the huge efforts to help us book a restaurant for our dinner and also the bus reservation to Arima. Thank you so much Lina and the team.

The sink in the room has some problems and I was hoping the housekeeper will have it fixed but not.

Location is excellent close to a subway station and just 4-5 stops to Kyoto main station. Convenience store and tasty Korean-style take away next door. Also close to the palace park which is nice. Great washer and dryer on GF.

There isn't much else around here that I saw in terms of eating options if you want something special. However, it rained heavily during my stay so I did not do too much exploring round the neighbourhood. Still a great, quiet base for Kyoto. I would stay there again. (oh, and a coffee sachet in the room would have been nice :)

The location is 4 subway stops from Tokyo Station...very close to a number of exits. Imperial palace is walkable away. The staff are excellent and thanks to one of the staff that is very fluent with her indonesian language and that helps us a lot with the communications. Sorry for not catching up her name. I truly recommend this hotel and would stay here if visited kyoto.

Excellent location for Palace/Castle visits, moderate distance to Kiyamachi/Nishuku shops&restaurants. We were coming from Jakarta and it was a good luck to see 2 Indonesian staff in the reception, they were very helpful and welcoming 🙏 Most important is that the beds and bathroom was clean 👍🏻

Family rooms a little small, but if you come to Hotel just to sleep it is not a big issue.

Amazing room, amazing location, insanely welcoming and friendly staff, especially the, what i assume was the hotel manager, she was making sure we had everything we needed and were pleased the whole stay, she even walked us out to our taxi upon departure, really satisfied overall with the experience and would recommend this to hotel to anyone looking to explore kyoto as it is close to the center for night life and in a nice middle ground area where its not too far from either the east and west shrines and tourist spots.

it’s so close to Marutamachi Station and there’s exit with elevator, suitable for family with luggage!!! they also have bus to golden temple for Free! the staffs are friendly and nice. There’s also one staff from Indonesia that made sure we’re safe since we went there during earthquake.

The location was great as it was practically on top of the train station. The room must be soundproof as it was very quiet. There is a very inexpensive washer and dryer on the premises which we needed. The price was so low that I was worried that the room would be dated and old. It was a really nice new room! They also offer FREE luggage storage the day of arrival and departure.

The hotel room was clean and the staff were very helpful and courteous. The hotel is modern and the bathroom and shower area were my favourite. They have a laundry area and are located close to a convenience store, parking and local restaurants. They were also in walking distance to the Kyoto Imperial palace.

The beds are not the most comfortable but they were able to provide extra pillows if requested. They also have a breakfast buffet which was unimpressive for the price.
