I recently stayed at this hotel in Kyoto, and overall, I had a fantastic experience. First of all, the room size was excellent, much more spacious than I had expected for Japan. It was incredibly comfortable and gave me plenty of space to relax after a long day of exploring the city. The cleanliness of the room was top-notch, and the entire hotel had a nice, quiet atmosphere with a pleasant, fresh scent throughout, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The staff were another highlight of my stay. They were extremely friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. They spoke good English and were always ready to help with any questions or needs. They truly went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable during my stay. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was important for me since I needed to stay connected for some work during my trip. I never had any issues with the connection dropping, which can sometimes be a problem in hotels, but not here! The location of the hotel was also very convenient. It’s close to many restaurants and convenience stores, which made grabbing a quick meal or snack super easy. Additionally, the hotel is not far from a metro station, making it a great base for exploring the rest of Kyoto. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. It’s a fantastic place to stay in Kyoto, offering comfort, convenience, and excellent service. Just be aware of the smoking situation if that’s something important to you.

No designated smoking area either inside or outside the hotel. The closest one is about a 20-minute walk away, which can be a bit inconvenient for smokers.

We had a great stay. Very nice and helpful staff. The location is fantastic with many restaurants and shopping streets around. You can cover a lot of central Kyoto just by walking from here. Even Gion is within walking distance and we walked there two times, one at daytime and one in the evening. We loved having the hotel to come home to every day. Rooms were great, no noise, all clean and good vibes all around.

Breakfast was a little insufficient for us, with only 2 selection choices. There is a risk that some of you dont like half of it, even though the quality is good.

Lovely, fresh, modern hotel. Clean and well designed bathroom. Central location, made it easy to see the stunning sights of Kyoto. Kind staff. Great breakfast and coffee available at Common Well café in the lobby. Great products available.

We had a twin room, but only one bed had a bedside table or access to any lights/ lamps for the room. It would have been better if both beds had lamps/ switches/tables. Our window was completely frosted so no view. Streaming on Amazon prime only was available. Other hotels have had Netflix options. Price was higher than usual due to cherry blossom season.

Fantastic location that feels quiet and tucked away but within walking distance of some great local restaurants and transit stops. Rooms are a decent size and have everything you need, plus room to open up the luggage without being underfoot (although was traveling solo so with two bags it might be different). Comfy bed with quality sheets, nice PJ set, plus kettle + tea/coffee. There's a mini fridge (handy) and TV (never turned it on), wifi was great/fast. Loved having a cafe downstairs - only had breakfast one morning which was delicious and great value at 2000Yen.

Frosted windows made it feel a bit enclosed - view probably wasn't all that it would have been nice to be able to see out. Otherwise loved everything.

The location is great, right next to the the famous Nishiki Market (にしきいちば); easy to approach to most places. Hotel staff were friendly, welcome Matcha was lovely, but the tiny little fish Origami was an additional surprise. There is an open lounge for all guests free to use during the open hours; drink a cup of tea, flip through magazines are quite nice. The restaurant was on the local restaurant list, one of the beloved coffee restaurant, serve continental breakfast. Very nice coffee. The facilities are not the top among the three hotels I stayed within one week visit of Kyoto, but it is fair for its price.

2 Chinese walk in guest, plus mine breakfast was delayed for over 35-45 minutes, guests behind us have been served and finished, the reply was our order got forgotten by the cook. That wasn't pleasant experience, but apart from that, the food was fine.

Very clean, modern, tasteful design. Staff were exceptional, good English communication, and were very welcoming. Staff made it very convenient for us, from filling out forms to sending our luggage. Love the lounge and cafe! Matcha welcome drinks and snacks. Will definitely come back and recommend to friends and family.

There was a very faint wet towel smell when you enter the room but it may be because of the cleaning solution or spray they use. Not a huge deal but you can notice it when entering.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Great facilities room was brilliant had extra features like a Bluetooth speaker, good size room and very clean. A big thank you to the staff who helped us during the time of typhoon Shan Shan they helped us with trying to plan our travels to Tokyo and contacting the other hotel on our behalf and helping us with trains. Also sorting out another night for us to stay in the same room. We can’t thank you enough! Cafe was brilliant great selection of delicious foods and drinks. Charcoal latte was very tasty!

I wouldn’t say there is anything we didn’t like about the property, would definitely stay there again.

one of the best hotels i stayed at. bang for buck definitely. staff was really kind, even kind enough to help me make a couple of reservations. as soon as i checked in, they even made me a welcome drink (matcha) and snack. slept like a baby in this hotel and i love the interiors as well. very minimalist, the cafe attached to the hotel was really good as well. highly recommend to stay at this place when you go to kyoto. i will definitely go back!

nothing. everything was perfect. nothing that i was to change. i would have wanted to eat at the resto attached more as their minestrone and coffee are really good.!

This great little hotel is conveniently located a couple of blocks from Nishiki market or the shopping street where you'll find Daimaru and even Gion is a nice easy walk. It's near bus stops to take you to the sights like Kiyomizu-dera or your choice of train and subway stations giving easy connection to Kyoto station and easy access to Arashiyama, Fushimi Inari, Uji and Nara and the like. The rooms are a good size for Japanese standards and are very well thought out with everything having a purpose. There's a little bar fridge tucked away, a small coffee table /seating area too. Staff were kind and helpful too. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to others. Easy and convenient location so I could come from KIX airport and easy access to Osaka too.

We were in Kyoto during the July festival, which seemed daunting at first, as we expected it to be very busy, challenging to arrange things. However, with a bit of work and the help of the hotel staff, we ended up having a very nice stay. The location is fantastic, within 5 minutes of the Nishiki market, which is huge and has great food until pretty late in the evening and also within 10 minutes of the metro station, which makes it really easy to explore. Staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast at the hotel was really delicious, well worth the price, and the coffee was great. Highly recommended!
