The hotel has a boutique hotel feel to it. The rooms were quite spacious and well-designed. The overall ambience was luxurious without being over the top. The staff was quite helpful, especially when booking a taxi, receiving luggage, and setting up a delivery after my phone was lost (and luckily found). They have free laundry and provide free delicious croissants in the morning. I thoroughly was impressed by the value and high quality of service I received, so much so that I considered extending my stay longer (though it wasn't possible since I had to return home).

Great location for exploring Kyoto. The main shopping district is very close and is in walking distance. There is a Lawson store just a minute walk away filled with any food/convince needs. Transportation to any main sight seeing attraction is convenient. The hotel staff were great and spoke English. They were very eager to have a conversation each time we entered. The hotel room was a good size and had all the necessary amenities.

If I had to pick one it would be the bed. It was quite firm but is normal for Japan.

This was my second stay at this property and it was just as lovely as the first visit. First and foremost, the staff are truly exceptional. I stayed in a tatami room again, and there is plenty of room for a solo traveler. The Nespresso maker and tea/water kettle are great as well as the fridge and microwave, all of which I used daily. It was extremely quiet. The washer/dryer are also great benefits.

The only minor complaint I have is that there is a scent diffuser or something extremely scented in the reception area that I didn't remember from my first visit. The scents are very overpowering and I would recommend not having any scented diffusers since I know there are a lot of us who are very sensitive to scents.

This sweet little hotel near the Nishiki market was one of our favorites in our two week journey through Japan. The staff was beyond amazing. They were so helpful, I even lost my phone inside a taxi, and they were able to help me recover it! It was waiting for me at the hotel when we got back from the shrine. The beds were super comfortable, in the area was perfect walking distance to Nishiki market. We were only in Kyoto for one day so we took the taxi to all of the major attractions in the area. It was about $15 taxi ride to each of them from this location. We asked them to call a taxi for us, and they happily organized that for us. The rest of our family stayed at another hotel down the street, if we are ever in Kyoto again, our entire family has decided they would stay in this hotel.

I loved this hotel. I’m not sure if we would have enjoyed our visit to Kyoto as much if we hadn’t stayed at Miru Kyoto Nishiki. It’s located on a narrow alley in a charming neighborhood of older buildings housing specialty stores, boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Not far is the bustling Nishiki Market with food vendors, restaurants, and stores. The hotel itself is modern with a Japanese motif. The room was large (than most Japanese hotel rooms) with comfortable beds and a nice supply of toiletries, slippers, robes, bottled water coffee, and tea. Fresh croissants are available each morning. The staff were extremely polite, kind, and helpful. If you’re looking for a unique and charming place to stay while in Kyoto, look no further.

This is a gorgeous boutique hotel, nicely close to the Nishiki markets. The room was spacious, very clean, very comfortable and with an understated lovely design feel. The in-room coffee maker, and the croissant delivery in the morning was a very nice touch! The location of the hotel was excellent - on a quiet street, within easy walking distance of stations and various attractions. The staff were absolutely fabulous - they were so friendly and helpful, with excellent English, and did everything to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, including great recommendations for restaurants nearby. We had a great time in Kyoto, and will definitely stay here again! Thank you so much.

I loved everything about Miru Kyoto Nishiki! The location is great, right next to Nishiki market. There are tons of restaurants and cafes right next to the hotel. It is walking distance to many major Kyoto site-seeing spots, and close to several subway lines. The room (I stayed in a single tatami room on the fourth floor) was super comfortable and perfect for one person. The room is also pretty big and there is plenty of floor space for luggage. The bathroom was also decently-sized for Japan. I was working on vacation, so the desk in the room was great, as was the Nespresso (which is refilled daily). The Wi-Fi worked well. The staff was fantastic! I got some great local food recommendations, one of which ended up being one of my favorite meals of my trip. I went in winter and the heater worked well. The futon and pillows were very comfortable. Loved the free croissants in the morning, too.

Nothing!

Everything about this place is perfect! The rooms are huge by Japanese hotel standards, clean, and well-soundproofed. Our bed was the comfiest bed we slept on in Japan. The attention to detail in the rooms was lovely, and everything we needed was there from croissants in the morning to a smart TV that we could use to stream Youtube and Netflix to a smartphone you can use in the room. The staff were super friendly and helpful. This wasn't important to us but they all spoke English, some of them very well. There are free laundry machines to use which was very helpful. Wifi was great. Location was perfect right next to Nishiki Market and lots of other shopping and public transit.

Really hard to find anything to dislike about this place! If I'm being really nitpicky, the dryers do take a long time to finish (3 hours for a regular load of laundry), but the staff were really helpful in taking it out for us so we didn't have to wait around all day for it to finish.

We stayed 5 nights at the Miru and only have good things to report. The location could not be any better, close to public transport, the central, market and Gion, but tucked away in a quiet street with a host of great dining and shopping options nearby. The room was comfortable and very spacious by Japanese standards, with a king size bed, sofa and large bathroom. Everything was tidy and clean. There was even a laundry room that guests could use free of charge. A real plus after 10 days of traveling. Last but not least, the staff were lovely and so very helpful. It was a real pleasure to come back each evening after long days of sightseeing. The Miru has a small boutique hotel feel, but matches comfort standards of much larger (and more expensive ) hotels. Great value for money.

Everything was great. Nothing bad to say.

We’ve travelled Japan for 3 weeks, staying in a total of 5 different hotels. Miru Kyoto Nishiki by far was the best out of all of them. In terms of location, price to quality, cleanliness but also hospitality. This was the only hotel where the personnel was genuinely interested in us. They asked us about our expierences and we even showed some pictures. It all felt very sincere and authentic. The rooms are spacious, clean and decorated elegantly. The croissant service is cute and tasty. They really thought of so much others don’t. There was amongst other things a nespresso machine, plates and cutlery and even an European plug. We would definitely book again if we ever were to visit Kyoto again. Keep up the good work guys!
