The hotel has a boutique hotel feel to it. The rooms were quite spacious and well-designed. The overall ambience was luxurious without being over the top. The staff was quite helpful, especially when booking a taxi, receiving luggage, and setting up a delivery after my phone was lost (and luckily found). They have free laundry and provide free delicious croissants in the morning. I thoroughly was impressed by the value and high quality of service I received, so much so that I considered extending my stay longer (though it wasn't possible since I had to return home).

5D4N in a Japanese-style room (single) Exceptional hotel that seamlessly blends the comfort and modernity of a western hotel with traditional features you would typically find in a Japanese inn (e.g. tatami flooring). Excellent location, only a short walk away from Nishiki market and Shijo/Kawaramachi streets, providing easy connection to the rest of Kyoto via the various bus/train services passing through the area. Impressive range of amenities that you'd be hard-pressed to find in other hotels at the same price point, including a microwave, Nescafé coffee machine with capsules provided (both in your room), as well as 2 free croissants provided for each room every morning. Room was in excellent condition, feeling brand-new. Cleanliness was superb. Finally, extremely professional, warm and accommodating receptionists who do their best to make your stay a pleasant one. Special shoutout to receptionist Joyce Tan for her friendliness and 5-star recommendations! Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, highly recommended. ~ZH
Nothing significant. Take note that your room may not have any views (mine was facing the wall of the building next door) though this wasn't an issue for me personally as the window was covered with a nice Japanese shoji.

Fantastic location extremely close to nishiki market area. Staff were so friendly and even let me check in around 11:30am which was very much appreciated this particular day as I was picking my husband up later (who arrived to Japan after me) that day from Kyoto station so it was nice to be able to securely put my bags away and not worry about them and also have the room ready and checked in for my husband after he had a long journey from Australia to Osaka to Kyoto. Croissants provided to each room every morning was a nice touch. Staff were great at assisting with taxis etc and their English is great given some were foreigners themselves. Do check what a taxi fare should cost however and ask for the cheaper option as they do use multiple services and could book a more expensive uber for example over a basic fare taxi.
Nothing. It was great. Would stay again.

This is a fantastic boutique hotel that offers a friendly, personalized experience. Stylish rooms were spotless, quiet and comfortable with ceiling-to-floor windows creating a light, spacious feeling. The location is in a quiet side street close to the Nishiki markets, popular shopping and eating areas, and surrounded by restaurants, bars and boutique fashion and design stores.and it’s only a 15 min walk from the Gion district across the river. The staff were friendly and helpful and guests enjoy freshly baked croissants everyday from a neighbouring bakery. It was a 10 min walk to nearby train stations including Karasuma station where we caught a local limited stops train direct to our next destination, Osaka. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to other travellers.
Nothing to mention

I loved my stay at this hotel. It is small, with only around 20 rooms or so, so you get to feel a bit at home. The staff was very friendly and was always ready to help me with all kind of requests. The also all speak good English. The room was big for a single room in Japan, beautifully designed and pretty well equipped (espresso machine, ironing board etc.). I used the laundry, the staff even offered to do it for me, but it was perfectly OK to do it myself.
The room window was facing a concrete wall of the building next to. You get no natural light in the room. It wasn't a big problem for me though.

This is a fantastic small hotel that punches above its weight. Stylish rooms, though on the smaller side, were clean, quiet and comfortable with ceiling to floor windows creating a light, spacious feeling (we were in a 4F room looking down into the street). It’s a relatively quiet side street close to the Nishiki markets, main shopping and eating areas, and surrounded by restaurants, bars and boutique fashion and design stores. And only a 15 min walk over the river to the Gion District. The staff were friendly and helpful, and guests enjoy fresh croissants daily from a baker nearby. 10 min walk to Karasuma Station where we caught an express train to Osaka. Highly recommended!
Nothing to report. Kyoto is a heavily touristed city similar to places like Amsterdam and Venice, so prices and room size throughout the city reflect that reality.

Amazing central location near Nishiki Market, great coffee, and shops. The hotel itself is small and intimate while being super close to a bustling part of central Kyoto. It was a short walk away from ShijĹŤ subway station and numerous bus stops. I stayed in a single tatami room which was very spacious for 1 person. My room was quiet, clean, and a had a nice desk space to work. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with any questions. Croissants were provided for each room in the morning in the hallway. I was also able to store my bag there after I checked out for a few hours that day. Highly recommend.
Nothing I would change! I really enjoyed my stay.

This was my second stay at this property and it was just as lovely as the first visit. First and foremost, the staff are truly exceptional. I stayed in a tatami room again, and there is plenty of room for a solo traveler. The Nespresso maker and tea/water kettle are great as well as the fridge and microwave, all of which I used daily. It was extremely quiet. The washer/dryer are also great benefits.
The only minor complaint I have is that there is a scent diffuser or something extremely scented in the reception area that I didn't remember from my first visit. The scents are very overpowering and I would recommend not having any scented diffusers since I know there are a lot of us who are very sensitive to scents.

Great location for exploring Kyoto. The main shopping district is very close and is in walking distance. There is a Lawson store just a minute walk away filled with any food/convince needs. Transportation to any main sight seeing attraction is convenient. The hotel staff were great and spoke English. They were very eager to have a conversation each time we entered. The hotel room was a good size and had all the necessary amenities.
If I had to pick one it would be the bed. It was quite firm but is normal for Japan.

I loved this hotel. I’m not sure if we would have enjoyed our visit to Kyoto as much if we hadn’t stayed at Miru Kyoto Nishiki. It’s located on a narrow alley in a charming neighborhood of older buildings housing specialty stores, boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Not far is the bustling Nishiki Market with food vendors, restaurants, and stores. The hotel itself is modern with a Japanese motif. The room was large (than most Japanese hotel rooms) with comfortable beds and a nice supply of toiletries, slippers, robes, bottled water coffee, and tea. Fresh croissants are available each morning. The staff were extremely polite, kind, and helpful. If you’re looking for a unique and charming place to stay while in Kyoto, look no further.
