The design of the hotel is very chic and the room itself had a very minimal and classic design. The hotel has a lot of amenities such as hand sanitising wipes, facial creams etc. and it was in walking distance to the station.

The room and especially the bathroom felt a bit claustrophobic because it was so small. The room was cleaned after three nights but was not cleaned very well (e.g. still a lot of hair on the floor). There were two types of breakfast and I personally do not like soft scramble egg and it was difficult to communicate with the staff in English to have them cook it longer but they tried their best.

Unique, cozy and stylish room with all needed amenities. It was smaller than expected but very neatly designed and realized. The bed was comfortable with several pillow options and there was a tatami seating area as well. The main floor itself was tile. But if it gets cold you have cozy slippers to use. Staff was friendly and helpful and explained everything surrounding the room and hotel personally.

The location is just awkward. Very close to the station, but not really great to walk to with your luggage. A very narrow sidewalk makes it difficult to navigate with all the travelers going through the area. The windows in my room couldn't be opened and there was no view.

Amazing hotel, amazing onsen, kind helpful staff, easy check out. We got sick on the day we had to checkout, but the friendly morning staff person helped us book 1 ekstra day in a close by room on the same floor, so all we had to do was move out stuff. We really appreciated it! Would visit again 9/10!! Ps. Up the street (20-30meters) theres a small ramen shop which is a must try!

Breakfast wait time was unfortunate, however we decided to eat out all days except for day 1. During Check-in we had to give additional information which seemed a bit weird when they had all the information from booking.com but it still only took 5-10 minutes. There wasn't really any major issues.

Room is clean and tidy with basic amenities along with it, you can pick up some toiletries at the ground floor if you need more. The view from our room is really nice, love seeing the quiet neighborhood and the Kyoto tower from our window. The design in our room is minimalist with local vibes, I tried to find a bed same with tatami floor, I think this is the closest one it's kind of the same feels as our bed is on the floor too. Lols. Well, bed is big as I've chosen it and we are happy that it's comfy! They provided pajamas and a basket for you to use in spa, we were not able to use them but it's cool to have ready and available at your room. Internet works well btw. Also., they even have free refreshments everyday and breakfast includes japanese type, you just need to confirm with the reception which breakfast do you prefer the next day. The hotel has an overall zen feels and it's like 10-15mins walk from the Kyoto station. We had a good stay during our honeymoon 😊

Well any room size in Japan I think is smaller than usual. The bathroom size is smaller, but as long as my husband (6'7 tall) fits we are okay.. Just we hope it's bigger😊

We stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Tou Nishinotoin, and had a great time. The check in was very straightforward, and with the option to leave bags prior to checking in we were able to go out and do some sightseeing without having to lug around bags or find a coin-locker. We enjoyed the breakfast provided - options were western style or japanese, however we only had the japanese style which was delicious. The beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean, and bathrooms were well equipped. The location is approx 15 minutes walk from Kyoto station.

With only two washing machines in the laundry for use, it makes it quite difficult to secure one for washing clothes.

The hotel is an excellent choice in the middle of Kyoto. You can walk to the main station in about 10 to 15 minutes, from which you can take several buses or metros to the sightseeing areas. Often, there is a bus stop even nearer to the hotel. Also, many good restaurants are available within walking distance. The staff is friendly and speaks acceptable English. We booked the Japanese breakfast and were very happy with our choice. The taste is excellent, and the breakfast is authentic. Additionally, the hotel offers delicious cold tea and lemonade during the afternoon, which was very comfortable when stopping by for a short break. The room was comfortable, and the shower was large. We recommend taking a hot bath in the hotel's basement after a long day of sightseeing. It is very relaxing, and the temperature is perfect, even in summer. You can pay the hotel either in cash or via credit card, which is not the case for every hotel in Japan.

Even though the room was very comfortable, it was quite small. We were having problems opening the large luggage bag. Additionally, while the Japanese breakfast was very delicious, it became a bit boring on the third day. I recommend either the hotel offering different Japanese breakfasts or the customers switching between Japanese and Western breakfasts.

What a beautiful design hotel! Everything is selected with care and well thought. Lighting is also very nice, you have several options to dim the lights to create a comfy atmosphere in your room. The most comfortable pillow I've ever slept on in a hotel. It's also nice to be able to listen to Youtube or watch Netflix on the TV, and I loved the foot massager you can rent after a long day walking through Kyoto. Location is perfect for me - in the middle of the city, not far from the train station, close to a nice temple and garden, but in a quiet street. The Nightwear/ Pyjama/ Jinbei were also very comfortable and stylish - may I ask what brand it is? Would love to be able to buy them!

Room could have been a little bit cleaner - I guess it's due to the dark color of the furniture, but you could see dust, also under the furniture. I wanted to use the public bath, but as it's quite small, it was impossible to use it as it was always crowded. Especially during Covid-times, it would have been better to be able to book a slot to use it as a private bath. There were no vegan or vegetarian options for breakfast, so we skipped it. It's a little bit strange that you have to do the check-in at a machine on your own although there's a reception with staff - I prefer being welcomed by a person.

This was the best hotel I have ever experienced in Japan. By Japanese standards, it had a spacious room and incredibly comfortable beds. The view of the nearby temples was stunning, and the hotel is about an 8-10 minute walk from the train station. A great tip is to rent (electric) bicycles from Rental bicycle Fuune, which is just a 2-minute walk from the hotel, and you can return the bikes at any time of the day. Highly recommended hotel!

The hotel has a very cool concept and style. The rooms are modern and it was all very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a king room with a little patio and it was nice to have a little extra outdoor space. They have an amazing Onsen bath that can be enjoyed by guests and no extra costs. Free nice complimentary toiletries also offered.

The room is a bit small for 2 adults and 2 teenagers but we were travelling light so not much of an issue. I guess most hotels in Japan are like that. They could put some chairs or cushions in the little patio in the room so we could enjoy the outdoor space.

Very fashionable and well-designed. The room we had had the basics of everything we wish for. Not that luxurious but since we stayed there to go sightseeing, it was more than enough for us to feel relaxed and have a good rest.

The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was the washing machines - we had to rely on them as we were travelling for 7 days. we used the washing machine with a drying option and it turned out half-dried, so we had to keep some of the stuff in the bathroom to dry them out. but our room wasn’t made for it. eventually our laundry got an unpleasant smell.
