Big room and bed! We came during sakura season for two nights and averaged 16,000 Yen/night, so it wasn't bad value at all (no breakfast). Location was fairly convenient - still in walking distance from the Kyoto train station.

Lack of an actual table or chairs in the room, not enough wall plugs. No free coffee - that was probably the only hotel out of 7 in Japan that I stayed at where this was the case. You could buy additional sachets at the reception (and to be fair, they were cheap), but just an odd lack of amenities? And if you wanted your room to be cleaned, you had to hand in your key card at the reception - their default was not to clean.

Kyoto Crystal Hotel III is an adequate hotel with very good location. The hotel room and the bathroom are small, but still comfortable. The hotel is walking distance to Kyoto Station, which is central to a lot of activities in Kyoto. Lawson's (convenience store) is likewise walking distance. And it is near a lot of good eating places (we ate at some really good restaurants at Kyoto Avanti). The hotel staff were also very gracious and helpful. Since I travelled with my three young adult kids, I booked two hotel rooms, and requested for them to be on the same floor, preferably near each other. The hotel went out of their way and gave us two rooms right beside each other. Kyoto Crystal Hotel III, thank you for this accommodation!

Japanese staff were really nice like everytime. Speaking Japanese will come with its perks. Bathroom was nice and they had a smoking room inside of the hotel for common use. Also, the room was pretty wide and nice. The thing I liked most was about room cleaning; they never knock your door or push you for cleaning, if you want them to clean your room, you just leave the room key card to the reception and say no more. :)

Foreigner staff situation is getting weird and weird in Japan. They can't speak English nor Japanese... You can't go and work in a foreign country without any knowledge of language, sorry but I don't like Japan's immigration management. It's nothing about the hotel, but I asked "Do you have any cat food?" in a convenience store and Indian dude asked me back "What is a cat? (猫はなんですか?)" in Japanese hahahahahaha. Also, I don't know why but all Japanese staff are trying to be nice and they are very helpful but foreigner staff are so rude. I asked for extra towel to one of them and they said "we cannot give it to you", but the other day a Japanese staff gave us extra towel. I was like "why there is a difference between staff?".

This was my fiancé's favourite hotel during 2 weeks of travelling Japan. Although we booked 2 single rooms, he was given a double room so we could stay on the same floor - which the staff didn't have to do but they made it seem as if it was no trouble at all to make it happen when asked. The rooms were very spacious, probably the biggest we've seen on our trip, and had all the amenities (air conditioning, dehumidifier, mini-fridge, kettle and hair dryer. Everything looked new and modern as I'd recently renovated.

The location wasn't 100% what I had hoped for but the station could still be reached within an 8-minute walk and there are plenty of bus stops around to get to shopping opportunities or shrines. The bathroom of the single room was very small in terms of positioning of the toilet - sitting down was quite uncomfortable for a normal, not super tall European.

Around 10 min by foot to Kyoto station, the room was quite big compared to Tokyo standards (I often stayed in Tokyo), window had a nice view, sunny. Everything was clean and new. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.

Only some very minor things. I wish the room had a small chair and some simple tableware like spoon. The water in bathroom wasn’t evenly warm all the time, it cooled sometimes and heated again. Based on the sound I guess this is how their water system works. Area around doesn’t have restaurants, need to walk towards the station and cross railway. Overall the stay was enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it.

A good value for the price. Close enough to the train station about a 15 minute walk. Nearby convenient stores and laundry. The staff at the laundromat was very nice and helpful.

The room was as expected for the price. I wish there had been more shelf space in the bathroom. Hardly enough to put a toothbrush and toothpaste. We managed but a little more room to put a toiletries bag on would have been nice. To be fair most hotels we stayed at in Japan had the same issue.

+ really nice employees who spoke good English + spacious room + clean room as well (8.5/10) - location is a bit in a outside area, but walking distance to loads of places is dueable - only a few eat places outside of Convenience stores (small and big lawson) are on walking distance For example: Kyoto station is a 10 minutes walk Kyoto Tower and a big temple is about 15 minutes walk Famous red shrines about 45/50 min walk Teramachi street 40 min walk

The staff were great, approachable and friendly. Except for our last day. We requested to get a taxi to take us to the train station because our luggage were heavier and the front desk person at the time said that it was impossible to get one and that we should just walk.

The fact that the guy at the front desk refused to get us a taxi.

Excellent location, 5 minutes walking from Kyoto Station. Great local restaurants, in the proximity.... Clean and very practical hotel, very polite staff.

Nothing. Even the room facing the street was not very noisy....except for a few occasions when probably local " gang drivers" tested motorcycles....

The room was very spacious and staff were very nice and helpful. Location wise it's a 30 minute walk into the centre or 20 minute bus, but a lot of the sights are accessible via the Tofukuji station (about 15 min walk) which is JR pass acceptable so although we did have some longer walks home from the centre it was still convenient

Bathroom is quite cramped but nothing that affected the stay
