The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with many amenities which made living there easy and convenient. The check in process was easy and the house was easy to find. The washing machine and drying rack in the bathroom was great! I loved the built-in dryer inside the bath area, you can set it up to have all your clothes crispy within 4 hours, much better and organic as compared to a coin dryer. They provided cooking utensils and plates / mugs / forks spoons chopsticks, which was great to make quick meals on a budget day! (The lids of the utensils were smaller / bigger than the utensils itself which made it a little inconvenient, but the big one got the job done..) There were only 2 chairs to the breakfast table even though we're 3 people, but they were nice enough to at least bring us an extra chair upon request. They also restocked our detergent pods (although one day later than they said they would, it still counts!)

They gave us a room with a broken sofa bed and the double beds were uncomfortable to share since they were too spring-y and one person moving shifted the other. They gave only 2 duvets for 3 people, and refused to provide us with an extra bedsheet. It is a good place for 2 people, but if you're a party of 2+ , ensure that you lay down your requirements in advance. Even though it's an unmanned property, I personally think that they should customise the requirements according to the number of people visiting since they're charging extra accommodation tax (on arrival) PER PERSON, why not provide amenities in the same fashion?

The size of the unit was pretty decent and it was clean. There was sufficient space to open the luggage and a fridge that was bigger than the usual hotel fridge. As the room came with a washing machine, thoughtful extras like drying racks and sufficient hangers were provided. When I needed more laundry pallets, someone delivered them within half an hour, even though the reception was a distance away. Overall, it was a nice comfortable stay.

Though the location was stated to be 10 minutes from Kyoto station - they mean a 10-minute brisk walk, not when you are pulling your luggage with you. A bit out of the way.

I liked my room very much.

My problem was with the way you check-in at a remote location and leave your bags and then have to walk -8 min to get to the room. and wait for your bags to be delivered. I booked on line and there was no instructions except to check in to service center first without any indication that it was not at the hotel site. I have never had to check into a hotel this way and, if i had known, I might not have booked a room.

It was good value but was more like an air b&b than a hotel. You have to check in at a guest centre which is approx 10 minutes walk from actual facility. However, the facilities are very good, wet room, laundry facilities, hot plate, microwave & kettle, all good if you intend using food from the many 7’11 type minimarkets. Towels are not changed on a daily basis. There are places to eat in local vicinity but for more choice you will need to walk 10 minutes to nearest train station.

The fact that check-in is at a different location.

Excellent location 5 minutes walk from Kyoto station. Easy process to collect the room keys from a central office 5 minutes walk from our accommodation. The staff were excellent and vey responsive when we asked them a couple of queries, answering via the Booking.com message app within 10-15 minutes. The room was a good size for 4 of us and had the bonus of a washing machine which was very handy. Happily stay here again

All good for us, nothing to report!

Easy to reach from the railway station, and well-connected with public transport.

The apartment accumulated a lot of dust at the time we've stayed there - e.g. on the lamp, behind the microwave, etc. There was just one blanket on the double bed - while big enough, you might have to negotiate it with your partner in the middle of the night. There is little natural light in the apartment on the ground floor.

We had planned for five adults in our room, however when we arrived they only had enough towels and bedding for four. after contacting through the booking site to fix it the staff came in right away to fix it and even made the bed for us. the staff service was amazing and the location was perfect and close to the train station. also they delivered our bags to our room from the guest center check in office.

the property is close 5min walk to the Kyoto station and Kyoto Shinkansen (very convenient) the washer is inside the room, its like a small “long stay” accommodation in US. there are lots of convenience stores around

that the reception / check in is a different place from the hotel itself. For somebody coming in from a different place after traveling long hours; finding 2 places (1 check in counter and then the hotel) is a hassle.

The person at the counter when we checked in was lovely and super helpful! She was very kind in explaining the facilities and amenities.

One small thing that could be improved was the number of available outlets. A lot of the in-wall sockets in the room were occupied with pre-existing electronics so we had to plug out the TV to be able to use our electronic devices. But that really didn’t cause any issues.

I have made two continuous bookings and have spent a total of 13 days there. A walk of around 10 minutes to Kyoto Station is acceptable. Though the room I have booked is a bit small; it is clean and tidy. Staff at the service centre is friendly and helpful. My husband and I were very hungry when we returned to collect my baggages. Jessica at the Service Centre helped us to find a restaurant nearby. It is greatly appreciated. Sakura is a hotel we shall reconsider when we come to Kyoto next time.

The message that check in at the Service Centre instead at the hotel has to be more clearly stated. There is such a message but not very eye catching. Not only just us, we have also seen other guests waiting outside with the baggages for check in by their colleagues at the Service Centre. For our long stay, we tried to arrange the garbage for re-cycling but could not find sufficient garbage bags. I later found the new garbage bags under the used one in the dust bin. I guess put the new garbage bags outside is better🤔
