Our room had a view of a graveyard. We didn’t mind- kept windows closed at night to stop ghosts getting it🤣🤣 A little far from main restaurant area.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great, restaurants and great shops round the corner, 15 min walk to Gion sites and shopping, 10 mins walk to Heian Shrine in which the gardens were uncrowded and enjoyable, and busline right outside! The room was comfortable, spacious enough for one, convenient to have the kitchenette. My room didn't have the sofa set up as pictured, so there must be larger rooms. There was the temple behind which did announce early morning services with a drum, so if you're a light sleeper bring earplugs. And there was a graveyard you could see from the window but this is such a beautiful and interesting part of the culture that it didn't bother me. A great value for the location and comfortable room. I would def stay again!

The bathroom floor was sticky so I gave it a clean and there was a slight smell to the toilet

Great location across the street from a shrine, and next to two bus stops! You can easily walk to the Gion District or the Heian Shrine if you want to. Room was spacious compared to most Japanese hotels, and the kitchenette was a bonus. Great place if you plan on staying for 3 or more nights.

There is no luggage delivery here, so you will have to plan accordingly. You can drop off your luggage at their guest facility near Kyoto Station, but you will have to go to the nearby FamilyMart to ship it to your next hotel (warning, they will not help you fill it out!).

Our room was facing a pretty busy street, but the windows are pretty well noise insulated, so we could have a great sleep. The other room was facing a cemetery, which was an interesting experience-we didn`t bother at all. The rooms are very clean, they are cleaned every three days, which is ok. The apartment is 2 minutes away from the nearest bus station and 5 minutes from the subway. Convenience stores are nearby + some restaurants and McDonalds, main Gion attractions are 15 minutes away (on foot). We had a great time at Stay Sakura Gion North and would absolutelly reccomend it for a budget friendly vacation in Kyoto.

The rooms are not big, but it is normal for Japan. We were four in one room and three in the other and it was difficult to open the suitcases. However, we were around every day all day and didn`t bother about that.

The room was about average size for Japan (i.e. small), but well laid out with everything we needed. Washing machine / dryer combo was great, kitchenette facilities were basic but more than adequate, and the beds were firm. Can't say it'd be perfect to be locked into for a week solid, but as a base it's great. An easy walk (2 minutes) to the Tozai Metro line, and with the main city buses stopping at the front door, anywhere in Kyoto's close. There are four minimarts within 5 minutes walk, as are eateries, and the main hub of Gion tourist area's only 700 metres south of the hotel. It's an apartment style hotel, so room cleaning and replenishment is every four days, but that's no real issue as the font desk can refill anything you need.

Front desk staff rotate seemingly at random; they're all nice and helpful, all with varying degrees of English, but it can be disconcerting. Note also that beyong very basic information they will not / cannot help you with things you may expect from other hotels (like getting a taxi, information on attractions, receiving tickets or forwarding luggage).

The location was perfect for exploring Kyoto as you are walking distance to many places and very close to a metro station. The washer was very nice to have in the middle of our Japan trip and there is a clothes drying feature in the shower room which worked much better than we expected. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is on a busy street but with the balcony glass door closed you couldn't hear much of the road noise. Great value.

The room felt smaller than the photos showed but we had everything that we needed. The kitchen/hallway area was very narrow.

This was my second stay with Stay Sakura, they are a great option if you want to stay in a bigger room/apartment. I booked this room because it had a washing machine in it, and to my surprise there was also a dryer! The check is was convenient, you can check in at the property, or go to the guest service centre near Kyoto station and check in there, and they will send your bags straight to your room, so convenient!!

They didn't offer breakfast as far as I am aware. The location was convenient though the view from our room (206) was a graveyard. Which was not a problem for us but might not be ideal for everyone.

The room had no space to put luggage, kept bumping into the TV on the wall when trying to get out of bed / go to the restroom. The rooms were nice and clean but just be aware that they are very small rooms.

Staffs were friendly and check-in instructions were clear, do note that if you are checking-in before the check-in time, luggages needs to be stored in the guest centre near kyoto station instead. But there's a free luggage delivery service to the hotel from the guest centre. Rooms were spotless clean and comfortable. Good size as well. It's super convenient to have a washer, dryer in the toilet is just the best thing. All clothes gets dried in a matter of hours. There are also several 24 hours convenience stores around as well.

It'll be even better if they provide daily cleaning service. Though they are happy to swap your towels and even bedsheets if you take it down to the reception and change it yourself.

The location was great, within walking distance to the nishiki market and gion. Also there are two tram stations nearby, and a bus stop directly in front of the hotel. The room was very nice and comparably big (to other japanese hotel rooms). We had two seperate beds which was also nice. The room was clean and the bathroom well equipped. The staff was very friendly.

There is only one point I can adress here. In the morning between 6 and 6.30 there were drums, I guess from the temple nearby, which woke us up some days.
