Easily one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in! I booked for one night and ended up staying for 3 weeks. Takuro, Miyako, Emily and a host of mighty international staff headed by the sweetest chef Louis make for an incredibly welcoming experience. The hostel's warm vibe brings people together in its spacious common room easily, and its great location makes hopping on a train to soak up Osaka's nightlife easy peasy. The location is very interesting too! The dorms are spacious and very private, with great AC.
All exceptional

The vibes here are simply amazing. I made so many friends among the patrons and the staff was also very friendly. Honestly one of the most social hostels I've ever stayed in, and not just in a party sense. There were plenty of people there to party but also lots of interesting people to talk to and find friends to explore the surrounding areas with. It was mostly foreigners though, in case that is a factor for anyone. The staff was a mix of foreigners and Japanese. They were very friendly and helpful if you needed anything. They were also very connected into the local expat community and I got to tag along to some smaller community things on top of the bigger hostel-organized events. It was nice to feel included in a community even if it wasn't necessarily the native Japanese community. There were hangouts all the time and one night they even taught us how to make gyoza and we made a ton right there in the hostel. The owner is Japanese and was around all the time helping lead events and outings, and just hanging around. He helped me order something off Amazon with his Prime account when I needed it fast. The beds were basic but comfortable. I was impressed that I never felt anyone else moving around in their beds or anything. They have a small kitchen where you can cook your own meals, and even a rice cooker. The location is very close to a convenience store, a supermarket, various restaurants, multiple subway stations, a Mega Don Quijote, and more. The actual street it's on is kind of run down but that probably contributes to how cheap it is. It's also a 35-ish minute walk from Dotonbori so walking home from the bars/clubs there is totally feasible if you're out late after the metro has stopped and you don't want to pay for a taxi.
The bedsheets are kind of awkward to assemble and keep assembled. Big bags have to go in a storage room (at least for the mixed dorm) attached to the main room so you can't really keep your stuff next to your bed. One day when I went to take a shower there was just no hot water, even after running it for like 10 minutes. The dryer is really weak so they advise drying your clothes at the laundromat next door (which isn't a huge deal). None of these were significant cons but just thought I'd mention so people know what to expect.

Location was just so convenient. Nice staffs. Safe Stable wifi connections Easy to check in and out They do so much effort to make a good atmosphere and try to me people have connection with each other
Small kitchen If you have heavy suit case or big size suit cas it can be a bit struggling to manipulate in the small entrance and hall way Shower rooms are a big small, keep touching the walls but I guess normal for Japan

The first and best hostel I stayed at on my trip to Japan. Absolutely amazing vibe amongst the guests in the cozy common room, events on the weekends, terrific staff, a great location in a more genuine feeling part of town, and super cheap. Incredibly social.
The showers could get a little smelly, and my rooms mattress was a little thin, but these are small gripes for what was a great stay.

Very active Hostel, a lot of people hanging out in the lobby. Seems like a great place if you want to get to know some fellow travelers. Staff was very friendly and fluent in english, but was also happy to speak in japanese to me if I showed interest in talking in japanese to practice. Staff also cancelled my last night for free because I wanted to switch to a more spacious hotel for some repacking before my flight, which was very helpful and cannot be expected.
Not the cleanest hostel i have ever been, though definitely still good, just judging by japanese standards. The dormitory area has basically no extra space when fully occupied, doing some serious packing in there seems very hard.

Absolutely loved this hostel! The atmosphere was amazing, super great place to meet other travellers, especially if you’re solo!! Everyone was able to get together and hang out for the night which was such a vibe! Ammenities were super clean and provided everything you need. Super helpful having toilets in the room as well, bed was very comfy! 🩷 staff were wonderful, very sweet and very helpful! Location was great, close to lawsons and family mart, and a quick 5 min walk to the station. Definitely recommend, would love to stay here again 💫💫💫

It was a pretty convenient location from a local station and it was nice for a short weekend trip with friends. The environment was also pretty easy going. Easy to meet people and make friends. I also liked that they hosted events that were open to anyone to join around the city. Also the bunk bed had enough space for me to bring my backpack inside.
The shower room and bathroom's sink were sometimes covered in water, but that only seemed to be the case if used really early in the morning or late at night. But overall it was quite clean despite us coming during a busy time.

Best hostel I've stayed in for a social atmosphere. People were incredibly nice and accommodations were pretty good. Great place to meet new people. Check-in was easy and for the price, a private room is well worth it. Laundry was cheap and easy to use. Great common area and the Christmas party was awesome
The mattress was small and uncomfortable and the showers are on the 6th floor for some reason. Clean but only at first glance. They charge you for everything here so keep that in mind. Kitchen is very small.

Staff: Welcoming, warm, and helpful. I only stayed for one day so I only encountered the lady in the front desk. Location: Good. Though located in a 'relatively run down' area in Osaka but it's not that bad apart from the hygiene enviornment of the roads. There're JR stations, metro stations and many convinient stores. Comfortness: Quite good.
If you are in a mixed dorm, there'll be abt 20 beds meaning that there'll be so many people. People's behavior vary and this is not something that the hostel can determine. There's an a$$hole who shouted out loud after 11pm and laughed like a j. er K in abt 3 am (gladly he lowered his voice but it's still hearable) and walked in the corridor making large noise with no intention to take care of others who already fell asleep. Another thing that I'm not satisfied with is the noise came out of the hostel (as my bed is adjacent to the windows). People (I can tell that they were foreigners but not sure if they sleep in this hostel) made large noise on the streets after 11pm and it's bit annoying.

The staff at the guesthouse is really friendly and fun. It's just 3 minutes from the subway station, so it's convenient to move around. Both the bed and public facilities are kept clean and the bedroom is spacious. The guests are also very social. This might be the best option if you are looking for a friend to travel with. And tourists don't have to worry about the security of Nishinari. It's safe enough to walk around late at night. I made many memories here. Best guest house in Osaka 👍👍
