December 2023

Check-in: we were greeted by a staff who spoke in fluent English, which allowed for a smooth check-in. We purchased our breakfast tickets at the front desk too. Location: the hotel is located in Sumitomo building, in a business district area, hence at 5-6 pm, the area clears out as the salary men leave their offices. Area is peaceful. The nearest train station is Shiodome station (3-5 mins walk), but Shimbashi station is more well-connected to the rest of Tokyo (10 mins walk, sheltered). The hotel is near to Ginza too, and is accessible by train from Shimbashi station, Ginza line. There were not many food options in the Shiodome area (typical cafe food for office workers, couple of restaurants here an there), but at Shimbashi area there are many izakayas that open past 5 pm. Caution should be taken when hanging out at Shimbashi area as the izakaya staff are aggressive and do not hesitate to approach tourists. There are also few tourists in that area, so you will be easily recognisable in the sea of suits. Pachinko parlours, massage parlours, the place felt sketchy. People there smoke in restaurants openly and drink A LOT. Not recommended for families with young children/ group of girls, possibly not so safe when the sky turns dark at 5 pm in Decembers. Room: TV and bed are large and a humidifier is provided as well. Room felt significantly larger than the typical 16 m2 business hotels in Tokyo. Breakfast: paid $25 each, and felt it was quite worth it. The highlight was the ochazuke DIY bar. There is a happy hour from 5-7 pm where wine and champagne (and juices) are free flow.

Room: spacious room, but was slightly ruined by the "upgrade" by Booking.com. That included a sofa daybed in the room, (the room hence sleeps 3-4 instead of 2). This greatly reduced the space we could use for our luggage. We instead opened our luggage (2 25-27 inches luggage) on the daybed so that we can still have some walking space. With the daybed, there is no chair, other than a table. The window does not have curtains, instead it is closed by a series of sliding opaque panels. Room: there were 2 pillows provided during check-in. I did not know they were different. I randomly chose and slept on one which was low and hard. Woke up with a backache the next day. The other pillow was more plushy and higher, choose that and request for a second one if you were to go to the hotel.

Location, stone throw away from subway. There's a covered underground walk way to Asakusa line(airport line to/from Haneda/Narita) so pushing luggage around won't be that daunting especially.

Not a lot attraction nearby, but its convenient to take train around.

The property is located in a very nice neighborhood in the middle of Shiodome. It is located inside a large office building so it can be confusing to find but has direct access to Yurikamoke Line for Odaiba as well as the Subway Oedo Line (Shiodome Station) and JR Rail (Shimbashi which is a 9 minute walk). The staff were very polite and efficient and did their best to make sure we were comfortable. They even helped us to book a taxi for Haneda Airport who came on time. The rooms were clean and well equipped. I had a nice view overlooking the buildings on the other side while my friend got the lobby view. The wifi and TV were good and there is a video on demand card in the pantry where you can input a code and watch a variety of movies and programs as you wish. There is a Tully Cafe and a Family Mart on the second floor of the entrance which was super convenient. Overall, I recommend this hotel as it close to Haneda Airport by Taxi and also has great connections to public transport. There is also a Don Quijote in the area and there is a lot of food options around the area.

Despite booking a premier room, I noticed that the furniture was a bit dated and needed an update but my friend, who got the smaller standard room, was lucky to get a more modern room. My room did not even have a safe box so I ended up carrying all my cash and passport around so thank god I was in Japan where it’s very safe.

For a 3-star hotel, this was a great stay! It was pretty affordable because we booked in advance and great value for the money spent. The entrance to the Oedo line (subway) is mere steps outside of the lobby, which helped us get to all of the places we needed to go. The building also has a cafe and convenience store inside (typically open from 7 or 8 am to 8 pm), the only thing is they are closed on weekends and holidays. And all of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. The location is also pretty central, but it's more of a business district so not many things to do/see within close walking distance (most things are more than 15 minute walk).

The hotel has smoking rooms so some of the elevators smelled of smoke and certain floors, which we had to venture to in order to find the washing machine. The rooms are on the smaller side, but still big enough to open our suitcases on the floor! Breakfast is on the pricier side (approx. $16 USD per person) but it's a good buffet with lots of options.

Everything about the hotel was good. The location was ideal as it was near the Simbashi and Shidome stations. Walking distance to Ginza and Tsukiji Market. The amenities are good and the room are nicely lighted. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The filtered coffee was awesome. Water bottles provided on a daily basis.

Nothing at all except that the service at the Bar in the evening for the drinks could have been better if the waiters were friendlier and they keep enough clean glasses for the drinkers.

Everything, from the facilities to the staff and the location and the room itself, everything was absolutely ideal. The staff were welcoming and helpful, helped us with everything we needed. The room we stayed in was BEAUTIFUL with a great shower and very very comfortable beds. We were able to navigate to our destinations very easily and were so very happy with the location being so close to so many things we were visiting. I am so happy we chose to stay here. We will be recommending this place to all our friends and we will come back.

No complaints. Everything was immaculate and ideal.

Relatively close to train stations (walking distance 10-15mins) - we found the location excellent as it was walking distance to the market and Ginza also the building offers a range of shops and food. Great service, friendly staff, breakfast was of good quality. The hotel offer free drinks in the afternoon. The room was clean and well presented a bit small but is normal in Japan.

We struggled to have a good sleep, we found the bed a bit uncomfortable and very small (perhaps our fault re: booking) we had to order extra 2 pillows as they were really flat.

February 2023

I was looking to stay near Shiodome/ Shimbashi (Have in a nearby hotel earlier). This place is near to many stations like Shimbashi, Yurikamome, Shiodome etc. made itself stand out. And that with the location being near to Ginza and Tsukiji. So in terms of location this was an excellent choice for me and my family. The staff and hotel itself is really nice. The hotel itself is in a manner grand looking.

The fact that all aspects are chargeable 1. Early check in 2. If not early check in, keeping bags before the check in time All these things matter since the check in time is around 3/4pm. If you are travelling from one city to another you tend to arrive early so as to maximize the day in that city but dragging bags is not a convenient way to explore the city. Plus we were staying there for a period of 5 days I would have assumed that the hotel would have taken this into consideration. Unfortunately not. Was very disappointed on this aspect.

Our double room and its amenities were very nice. We paid for the breakfast buffet, which we loved, since it included both Japanese and Western foods, good coffee and lots of choices. We also enjoyed the free happy hour drinks.

The room was a little small for us, but normal by Tokyo standards. We wished we could have had a room with natural light. Also, although the hotel is located next to the Shiodome station, the larger Shimbashi station (a 10 min walk away) was more convenient for us. However, it took some time to figure out how to get from the hotel to Shimbashi.

Hotel building is connected to underground pathway that leads to Shimbashi Station on the Yamanote Line. It is also attached to Shiodome Station that goes to Odaiba area (TeamLab Borderless, Rainbow Bridge, etc). Hotel is also nearby to Hamamatshucho Station that connects to Haneda Airport. Pretty convenient as a base to travel around Tokyo. The underground pathway has a lot of restaurants and Family Mart. Hotel room is clean and comfortable with free drinks at the lobby in the evening. They also offer luggage storage if you're there early before check-in time or after checking-out.

For a triple bed room, ours was wayyyyy at the end of the floor. We had to maneuver few corners just to reach it😂. But it's not that bad as I get to increase my step counts.
