We were lucky enough to get a room on the 9th floor which offered us glimpses out over parts of the area. Location is great. 7-11 across the road is really handy and great coffee only a few doors down, plus well connected to many great areas of Tokyo but also much quieter than other bustling parts of town. We loved it!
Expensive, but not unreasonable compared to other hotels in Tokyo.

We stayed in the Japanese apartment because the kids wanted to experience sleeping in the futons and they loved it! Rooms were very clean and quiet, bed and pillows very comfortable. Nice complimentary toiletries available. The little kitchen has all you need to prepare small meals and there’s a 7/11 just across the street. It’s located just 5 minutes walking distance from the metro station in a lovely neighbourhood with many different restaurants and convenience shops around. Staff is super friendly and helpful. They were absolutely amazing when we forgot some documents in the safe after checkout and they got in touch to help sort it out. Would definitely stay here again!
No blackout curtains.

This hotel was in a quiet part of Akasaka, just outside of Tokyo proper but within walking distance of a metro line, restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping. It had everything we needed to be our home away from home! The baby gate on the edge of the bed to keep our toddler from rolling out was an invaluable touch. Staff was friendly, spoke English, and were always happy to help!
I wish there were a few more washer and dryers. They were always busy. The attached restaurant was also super inconsistent with service and food quality.

Location, location - this is a property with easy access to public transport & many big tourist spots but without all the hassle & bustle of traffic & people. There are many delicious restaurants with in walking distance both western or traditional Japanese. The staff were more than happy to help make reservations if you are not so good at Japanese speaking. Amazing temple down the end of the street & a little gem temple hidden with the local streets. Rooms were very spacious & had plenty of room for my husband & I plus 2 teenage boys. New towels every day perfect. They even decorated our room while we were out with balloons & champagne for our 20th wedding anniversary. Lots of little touches that all added up to a great stay. Would definitely come back again
Can not fault it

MIMARU TOKYO AKASAKA was our stay in Tokyo during our Japan trip. It is well situated in Akasaka, near public transport, near restaurants and with a 7/11 and Lawson across the road. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Our daughter is in a wheelchair and this was not a problem in the hotel, the staff was very attentive and offered additional means such as a shower chair. The room was spacious and comfortable with a kitchen, seating area, double bed and a spacious bathroom as well. Next time we are in Japan we will definitely use Mimaru again.
The only thing we would comment on is the room carpet and seating area pillows, they could do with an update. We want to be clear that everything is clean and taken care of, but fabric flooring and fabric pillows do tend to wither over time and extensive usage.

Staff speak perfect English and were very helpful. I like that there was a little kitchen in the room, and it's perfect for families. I also like that the toilet area is separated from the bath area as that's always more hygienic & convenient. Also the communal laundry area was incredibly useful and easy to use - we really needed laundry before heading to the countryside so im very grateful for that feature.
There is a Russian restaurant on the ground floor of the building. I could hear them playing live accordion music all day, sometimes till 10pm. It's not great if anyone wants to have quiet time before 9 or 10pm. I asked the staff if this is only during xmas time or all year round, and sadly it's the latter. Mimaru need to deal with this or find new tenants. This is the only thing that prevents me from wanting to stay at the hotel again.

Fantastic location and staff were wonderful. The rooms are great, very clean and coin laundry very handy. Good value for money considering the excellent location.
It was a little squishy for a family of four (the two single beds were the sofas) but this was kind of expected in Tokyo. Even though there were cooking facilities it would be difficult to cook with the small hot plates, lack of bench space and few utensils provided. Even so, this wasn’t a problem due to the amazing location and array of restaurants to choose from on our doorstep.

Helpfull staff and check in experience. Accommodated a very early check in for not unreasonable extra amount. As with other Mimaru properties, very informative check in, with items to be borrowed etc. Can really recommend Akasaka as a place to stay in Tokyo and the hotel was a short work to the Metro, as well as loads of restaurants and shops as well as an easily manageable walk to Harajuku, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Roppongi etc.. Room was clean and very quiet, despite central location. Highly recommended.
Whilst a family room, there is no sitting space and if you have the extra beds out, there is very little room. We had expected a little more space in the room - but at the same time, it is a reasonable sized room for central Tokyo.

Well sized apartment. Most of the staff were amazing, some not so helpful. Really close to combini and well appointed little kitchen.
Our room needs a really good detailed clean, very very dusty around the edges of the room. Having said that the sheets and bathroom were spotless. Great location to get to other sights, but for us as a family we did not love Akasaka - seems like a mens business district, still bot sure why there was SO SO many security guards around the main eating / drinking area (didn’t stay to find out), did not see that elsewhere.

Room are spacious, Japanese style bedroom with western style beds. Very clean.
The sofa bed is kinda small. Beddings are left in storage beneath the bed so when taken out is a bit dusty. The property is not very near Akasaka station (abt 5 mins walk with hill) especially when you travel with big luggage. Navigating from the station to the hotel is also a bit tricky, you have to pass through a tech company’s pathway to reach the main road then walk down to the hotel. Also the hotel is on a downhill, we stayed near the station but ended up calling uber whenever we needs to move with luggages
