Please note that my expectation is that of staying at a "capsule" hotel for the first time. Best thing about First Cabin Akasaka is the location. It's right in the middle of Tokyo but not as annoying as Shinjuku or Shibuya, and proximity to train stations is a great plus. Amenities provided did the job (i.e., towels, brush, pajamas daily). Shower stall and room in the basement is quite spacious. Was able to use the laundry machine multiple times and they work well.

Not really for light sleepers as there is a gap in the accordion doors. For my whole length of stay, there is only one night when I can hear a very loud snorer, but nevertheless, light sleepers might be bothered by slight movement / noises outside your pod. The bed could actually be a little softer, it takes getting used to. Note that while I appreciated the shower stall and spa room - take note that it is on the basement, and it might be quite awkward taking the lifts just to take a shower.

The facility is super clean. The ladies’ floor was equipped with hair dryers, straightener, cleansing gel and lotion. The cabin was spacious

There is only one elevator for the entire 7 floors. Perhaps for security reasons, staircases are only for emergencies. You would have to wait for good several minutes to get around. It took me seven minutes to get to the basement shower room

I had an excellent stay at First Cabin, Akasaka in Tokyo. The location was ideal, with easy access to popular attractions and the nearby metro station, making it perfect for exploring the city. The premises offered great convenience, with everything needed right at hand. The facilities were impeccably clean, adding to the comfort of the stay. The cafeteria served good food, and guests were provided with all necessary amenities, including fresh towels and a handy kit. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. I would highly recommend First Cabin, Akasaka to anyone looking for a convenient, clean, and well-equipped place to stay in Tokyo.

nothing special

The establishment is close to two stations, so it is very convenient to travel around Tokyo. The place is surrounded by 3 FamilyMarts, 1 7-E, 1 Cocoichi, 2 excelsior cafes, near matsuya, sukiya and yoshinoya, among many, many good eateries. The place is clean. They have Key Cafe on the same floor as the reception. After 5pm it becomes the second lounge area. Late night requests are available via the reception. On tthe shower room floor, they have a couple of vending machines to quench your thirsts.

There is only 1 elevator, sometimes I had to wait for a few minutes to get in or out. The bed is super firm. Too hard for me. The shower room is only at the BF, and elevator is the only way there. Unless you shower at night, it will take some time since that single elevator goes up to 7th floor.

very convenient location, right opposite akasaka station. also accessible by several other stations but it is ~5-10 minutes walk. overall great connectivity to various parts of tokyo. i have previously stayed at other first cabin branches, love that the cabin is larger than typical capsule hotels and has enough room to stand up in. toilets and showers were well equipped, there is even a hair iron the female toilets and showers. everything was clean and generally quiet and staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

the bed was a little too hard for my liking, and as with all capsule hotels/hostels, you do get woken up by the sounds of other people getting ready in the morning or when they return at night, as well as the sounds of packing/unpacking (i am a light sleeper though). but if the sounds really bother you, the hotel provides earplugs for use. another thing which has been mentioned by others is that the showers are on B1F and there is only one lift. the wait can get a little long sometimes so just be aware!

Upgrading to a bigger cabin is well worth the price. Would stay again! The amenities were basic but did the job (basic toiletries, towels, and a set of jammies). The shower stall is HUGE. The coin laundry machine worked well; if you're only here one night and have about 2 hours spare, you could even skip bringing a second set of clothes for the next day! One set of clothes needs about 1x wash cycle and about 3x drying cycles, about 2 hours and 5 minutes total.

Can be a little noisy since the folding doors have a small gap above and below. Make sure to bring some hangers with you as the bathroom stalls don't those or cubbies in the changing room just before the actual shower. This is very minor, but I wish the drinks selection at the vending machine was a wee bit bigger.

The cabin was spacious enough to count as a small room, and the safety box under the bed was pretty hefty! You get free slippers and pajamas everyday, and they offer you quite a lot of bathroom freebies. The spa was basic but an enjoyable extra, especially after long days of walking around Tokyo!

The bed is a bit on the hard-side, could be a problem if you're used to a softer mattress. The cabins are separated from the hallway by tents, therefore there's not much soundproof. Ear plugs are recommended becuse some people get in or out in the middle of the night or early morning. This is to be expected when you sleep in dormitories, though.

I really loved how female friendly it was, they had hair tools, hair tie and refreshed towels often. Female only dorm and was quiet enough, I loved the bath area, and how clean it was. The front desk spoke English well and explained things thoroughly, and showed the rules in a book if in doubt. Very safe for solo stays :) and good location, close to subway station and nearby hogwarts cafe, shopping area and restaurants

The single lift sometimes took too long during peak times, perhaps having hair spray would be nice touch to go along with the hair tools

The location is great. And what I like about First Cabin is that even though the bathroom is on B1, it has toilet and washroom provided with all equipments you need at every floor, so you don't need to always go to B1 to wash your face or brush teeth, you can do everything on your floor, except taking shower and laundry. It also has a public bathroom where you can enjoy hot spa after a long day. It was very relaxing.

The checkout later service costs 1000 per hour, I ended up paying 3000. It is more expensive comparing to other hostels/hotels.

I always love the first class cabins here, has everything you need & more. Coin laundry, free wifi, pyjamas, all toiletries. This location is fantastic- just across from Harry Potter cafe in a beautiful, clean area of the city with lots of restaurants. 7 minute walk to Akasaka Mitsuke station where you can get the Maranouchi line direct to Tokyo station, or Akasaka station just across the road where you can get the Chiyoda line. Some staff have excellent English. Pretty quiet in the dormitory. Just great convenience.

As always with dormitory type hotels you have to deal with the noise of your neighbours, however everyone was mostly quite considerate this time, still recommend earplugs +/- noise cancelling headphones if you want a restful sleep as you can hear everything from your neighbours. Mattress very hard, needed to get 3x extra blankets to add underneath. 5pm check in a bit annoying, can go earlier at 1500yen per hour.
