Room - We are a family of four staying in Deluxe Japanese Room for a total of 13 nights at Mimaru Tokyo Ueno Okachimachi. It was spacious, with cooking facilities and kitchen utensils though we seldom used it. Microwave included, dual use aircon for cooling or heating. Room is clean. Amenities - lifts to every floor, 3 nos of washing machine (¥400 each wash with automatic detergent) and dryers (¥100 each use) available. Coffee and tea bags self collect from ground floor near reception. Location - very good, private and quiet away from the busy parts of Ueno, nearby connect to many train lines, Lawson convenience store just a short 50m walk away where we  bought most of our simple breakfast and drinks, Ueno station is just a short 5 mins walk away if you need to take Shinkansen (bullet train) to go other cities. Staff - very friendly, most can speak English. Helps call for taxis when needed. Overall, it's a very good place to stay, will recommend to others and will stay here again.

MIMARU will become my go to hotel for Tokyo. The location is so convenient with all the major metro lines just minutes away. The room is well organised for even big groups. The bed is comfy. We had everything needed. Highly recommended for families.

We stayed here at the end of our trip. The staff here is wonderful. They were very helpful when we needed assistance with a travel delay situation. The Ueno area is peaceful and it was a nice area to get away from the crowds. Ueno Park is nearby and we enjoyed the Ameyoko area which is very festive and vibrant at night with lots of locals out enjoying bars/restaurants. One ideal reason to stay here at the end or beginning of your trip is that it's a short walk to the Keisei Limited Express station, the high-speed train from Narita International Airport to Tokyo. The aparthhotel has accommodations for families (we had 4), which is a plus. The hotel is also located close to other train stations (such as Ueno station) so you can get to other party of Tokyo easily.

The beds were not too comfortable and the rooms, while clean, felt a bit older and slightly more run-down than some of the other accommodations we stayed at during our trip.

We had 2 families of 4 staying in one of their premium family apartments. It was great to have a common space to hang out. Laundry facilities were onsite on the first floor which was very convenient. Close by to Okachimachi train station (Ueno wasn't too far away either but was a walk). Loved the kitchen area to hang around in (we didn't eat in but could have).

It is larger than the typical Asian room but the rooms were still a little tight for us (although we are spoiled with space in the United States).

spacious apartment for 4 people in great location near Ueno park, shopping and restaurants. easy walk to Ueno station, touristy Ameyoko area (lots of overseas workers cf past years), and Akihabara. easy access to metro (Okachimachi station) and Charichari bikeshare hire (next to building). windows that open slightly to let in fresh air. great views. the bath was fantastic. wonderful welcoming, friendly, multi- national staff (front desk, housekeeping and cleaning staff).

apartment is dark despite opening all curtains/ blinds. window over kitchen sink could open a bit (it's permanently shut) to let in fresh air into main living area.

The staff here are very friendly, helpful and speak excellent English. The location is great, close to multiple train stations and a large shopping district. Our shower and bathroom were clean. The rooms were comfortable and I like that we had the option to open the windows for some fresh air. The beds are comfortable, just know that they are very firm, like many beds we experienced in Japan.

There were spots on the rug in the hallway and marks on the doors that made it feel like they needed a little better attention to the details - especially for the price. I would still recommend staying there.

We have stayed in another Mimaru and we loved the location and friendliness of staff in this one. The location is ideal with access to 2 stations and sandwiched between popular areas, whilst not being overcrowded. The neighbourhood is great with shopping and markets at your doorstep. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating with luggage transfers. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to Tokyo.

The only con would be that the beds were quite hard but overall still satisfied.

Its incredible value for money. This particular Mimaru is like a 5 minute walk from Akihabara, which meant that we went there every night after we were done doing the standard tourist stuff. The shower being split from the bathroom is also nice because it prevents an early riser from blocking people from the restroom if they take a long shower.

The rooms are a bit small, but that's coming from an American from the Midwest. We have a lot of space out here so I expect the rooms are comparable to other hotels. It was enough space for us, but we didn't have enough room to all leave our bags open.
