The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was mostly clean and quiet. The toilet was well maintained too though I would prefer the handwash soap to be nearer to the sink area.

There were a few bedbugs. I knew immediately when I got bitten so I checked through the lower bunk's entire bed and comforter. Thankfully, it was just a few. Otherwise, I would have called reception. I think the side bed lamp wasn't working so it was kind of dim in that area. I'm not sure if it was mentioned or not that this room is without windows. Please provide the info in your description if it isn't there yet.

It is a good, proper hotel. Very good price/value balance. Rooms are big and clean, a/c and shower heater work perfectly, really good shower gel provided.

Unfortunately I got this time a room with windows to the street, which was really noisy. Sometimes it was like the motorbikes are going through the room. In addition i woke up twice when the bell for the neighbour room was used. From a former stay I know they have also more quite rooms, if you are noise sensitive then better ask for that.

The staff were great, really helpful. Room is big with a nice bathroom. Close to the old town.

It’s on the corner of two really busy roads. The traffic noise is a problem until very late and starts again very early. You may be ok with a room at the back but ours was noisy.

Clean and neat rooms. Very good location near to Komtar and Jalan Penang. Very helpful receptionist who gave us very good advice and suggestions.

Could not provide us with rooms close to each other for our group.

The bathroon shower is very good as it gives one the choice. Airconditioning very good with eco the air freshness is there

Cleaning the room was not done inspite of makeup card was placed outside the room. I stayed for 3 nights and 4 days and this was not done. Astro programmes missing. Local tv stations do not give much entertainmdnt. The hotel needs a coffee house very badly. On raining days have one would be very handy and late evening meals like supper woukd be good

The hotel is located within the town area. Which is very convenient for tourist to walk to most attractions within George Town. Easy to walk towards the Chow Rasta Market, Komtar, and a kilometer away to the Esplanade walking distance. In terms of the hotel outlook, I would say it's good not the best. Room cleanliness is just great. The transparent elevator is just bonkers.

Parking is quite limited, but you can definitely park in front of Areca hotel if you need surety of safety. Because the hotel is in front of the main road, it could be noisy but that doesn't deter you from having a good night sleep.

i was a bit insecure because of many negative reviews of the place after the pandemic, but I was surprised positively! it was a nice and comfy room, which had everything I needed. I appreciated a lot that they have free water from dispensers (filtered water) on every floor. the reception staff was nice. free Coffee and tea in the room which was also refilled the next day.

only critic regarding the room is that it seems like they didnt clean properly after not having guests for a longer time, which means: on the phone, water kettle and tea cup there was a dust layer. I wish the housekeeping would have payed attention to that. also after the first night my towels were replaced with new ones, contrary to the signs in the bath room asking to hang up towels if you don’t want them changed to save water (and I did). so that was kind of unnecessary. also I wish the reception staff would provide some basic information for tourists like that there is a bus station of the free city bus right next to the hotel, which I found out just at the end of my last day.

1. The shampoo+body wash. OMG I noticed , they supply expensive shampoo body wash which is rm70 perbottle. I hair really comfortable with that shampoo. 2. the coffee also really nice. 3. the lift and interior design is quite unique 4. The bed so comfortable 5. In town area. Nearer to the bar, local breakfast, easy to walk distance.

Probably the parking space are limited. But I didn't drive a car. So not so much matter to me.

I get 2 single bed instead of 1 bunk bed like in the picture of booking which is much much better when we only able to check in around 10.30pm. The room spacious enough for 2 of us. Clean too and have 1 small fridge as well. I like the interior as well.. Comfort for us. Plus good service from staff too. We able to leave our bag at the receptionist while we had to check out early to go to penang hill.👍

I dont know how to operate the shower properly. A bit confusing but still working. Much better if could have better towel which looking more clean. The toilet could be improve its cleaness. Otherwise 10 star from me.

the staff was so helpful in which when we wanted to hop around to find foods before check in and after check out , we still can places our baggage and belongings in their bag storage for a while . The location was strategic to attraction places , easy to catch a Grab . The rooms was neat and spacious for two people.
