It was a very quiet hotel and met all my expectations. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast was satisfying and delicious. It is an extremely modern place to stay in Valletta! I also loved the fact that after 11 p.m., the door is locked, and only those who have a card can enter. Made me feel extremely safe!

I think the only thing that worried me at first was the fact that I could see outside the bathroom window even though the curtain was drawn. I thought that people outsid3 could see me as well, but the building across my room was abandoned.

This is a small, boutique hotel whose size, position and attitude to customer care results in a very special experience. The location is absolutely perfect, only 5 minutes from the Upper Barrakka Gardens and really well placed for all the other major attractions. But the bonus is that the location is also very quiet at night, being on a side street away from the main streets and bars, whilst being convenient too. We spent nine nights in Valletta and having looked and some of the other hotels we had been considering, I can honestly say we would choose SU29 over any of them! The rooms are lovely. They’re all individually designed and decorated, with some lovely touches. Importantly, they’re all spacious and especially the harbour view room we stayed in, which has it’s own galley kitchen, huge panoramic windows and a fantastic balcony. But no hotel is any good if the staff don’t match the quality of the accommodation. I’m pleased to say that this is not the case here. I honestly cannot praise them enough! We travel widely and to be treated with the level of respect, kindness and friendliness we experienced here is extremely rare. They are an absolute credit to the property! Nothing is too much trouble, with a ‘can do’ attitude expressed at all times. My wife and I were gutted to leave and we genuinely feel like we’ve found our home away from home in Valletta. We cannot wait to return. Well done SU29! 10/10

Can’t think of anything

I was in a single room but there was plenty of space. The shower / toilet area was also spacious and the shower worked perfectly. The room was well cleaned - no grit on the soles of your feet if you walked barefoot. The staff were all friendly and it felt genuine. I was very impressed with the choices at breakfast. There was something to satisfy all preferences and it was all fresh. This is not a large hotel and to have this range of breakfast choices exceeded my expectations. The location of the hotel is also perfect for exploring Valletta.

There wasn't anything which I didn't like but a word of warning to those with mobility issues. The hotel is on a pedestrian street which is on a hill. There are shallow steps leading up or down to the next street which has vehicle access. So you will need to be able to carry your luggage for a short distance and climb steps.

Our stay at SU29 was just great. The staff is exceptional, they are super polite, assistive, always welcoming and truly one of the best service team I happened to experience. The room we had was just wow with the breathtaking view from the terrace. On top of it room is very well equipped. And the breakfast buffet is great! Overall, this is a really great managed small boutique hotel and I definitely recommend it.

The bedroom I had was suberb with a wonderful private outdoor space. It was spotless, great shower, comfortable bed and super layout to the room. Having a coffee machine was a great extra perk. And it was so quiet, I was not disturbed once by noise any of the four nights I stayed. All staff, front of house, reception, chefs and cleaning staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem. They greeted me warmly with a smile on their faces each morning at breakfast. Choice of food for breakfast was outstanding, and varied each day. Everything was spotless and so well laid out and presented, there was careful attention to detail. The coffee was excellent too. Fantastic location, on a beautiful old street in Valetta and minutes away from all the main sites and the buzzing restaurants, bars and shopping districts.

The hotel was really nice. The location is great. You can reach Valetta Bus Station within 10 Minutes walking. Also you are located in middle of Valetta, where you can easily discover the whole City by walking. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is water for free in your room and also a coffee machine. The breakfast was very delicious with a lot of different food options and good coffee. The whole Staff was very kind and helpful.

everything was great. from the staff the to bed. the staff was more than accommodating to make this stay the most memorable it could have possibly been. thank you again for everything that you did for me and my guest.

I only really found 3 things that were small issues. the handle to our door was a little lose you had to try a few times before it would open. the tv decided at one point not to work for about an hour and there was a very small leak from the shower. the front right of the shower leaked on the floor near the toilet but it was only a very little bit. other than these small things everything was perfect.

Our room was very spacious with a sizable balcony with great views (see photos). Bed was comfortable and A/C was great, especially since the temperatures were in the 90s when we were there. Breakfast included 2 hot items that rotated every day and had plenty of options including made-to-order coffee drinks. Staff was pleasant but English was a bit limited (which was surprising). For travelers with big bags or mobility issues, just note that this room is on the top floor and the elevator does not go all the way up. So, in addition to climbing up or down the St. Ursula Steps to get to the hotel, you will have one more flight to climb to get to your room. (This was not an issue for us.)

Every time we flushed the toilet, a sewer smell came over the room. I guess the water used to refill the toilet is reclaimed water. We just closed the bathroom door. Luckily, the bed was very far from the bathroom.

Room was great and its view was very pleasant, also the local TV channels' availability was nice. Breakfast was perfect. Location is totally ideal.

Terrible elevator music in the lounge and in the mess hall. The music in the lounge plays even when guest uses the TV. The toilet paper quality was very low. Rooms should have smart TV's like the one in the lounge. Web browser in the lounge TV wasn't working.

right in the old town at the Ursula steps. beautiful location the staff are really friendly and welcome. breakfast was good and yea and coffee in the room. there is a fridge in the room. A little lift takes you to the room. Very clean and Modern

unfortunately I was having problems with my air conditioning and they couldn’t fix it over the weekend long holiday. so the have me a 50% discount on my room. they couldn’t find do me another room be cause the hotel was booked out. I was incredibly impressed by their offer. and incredibly impressed by their customer service. they give customers complimentary water when they come in from the hot sun. A great place to stay you will have to walk up the steps to reach the hotel but I’m sure the staff would help you carry your bags.
