August 2021

The Gomerino Hotel is a great place to stay in Valletta! Positioned between 5 stars hotels and B&B boutique palazzos, the Gomerino Hotel is a brand new, high-value offer in the heart of the city, opened from August 2021. The old building was completely restored, and now features a beautiful décor; well-equiped, extra-clean, cosy rooms (with fridge, bath robes, tea kettle, and even European, not only UK's, plugs!); an interior patio; marble floors; and, last but not least, not only one but two swimming pools, inside and in the rooftop, with magnificient views over Valleta's harbour and neighbouring cities. Sunshades, sunbeds and towels included, with drinks being served on deck...pure (but still relaxed) luxury. The Gomerino has a great (but still quiet) location, with all the attractions and pedestrian streets at a walking distance. The indoor food market and the restaurants of Merchant St. are a few steps away; yet, I would not advise you to eat there (too touristic), but to look instead for smaller places outside the main streets. For instance, a little further down St Paul's Street, where the Gomerino is located, you will find the steps of St Lucia Street, where some great, picturesque restaurants and cafés are located (better book in advance). Finally, the staff at Gomerino is really nice and eager to satisfy every guest requests. Highly recommended!

Breakfast is included and is ok, but not amazing, I've seen better in terms of service and variety. Some room for improvement here.

Amazing location and absolutely loved the rooftop pool! The staff was overall really friendly and willing to help all the time. Breakfast was really good too. The room was very spacious and the bed was king size which was a plus :)

Although the breakfast was really good, the service could be slightly slow when big groups were attending. The room service wasn’t up to standard as the floor wasn’t cleaned properly and sometimes the forgot to replace certain things. The AC was a bit on and off and sometimes stopped working, which was challenging. Finally, our room was on the ground floor and it was quite noisy, you can hear steps from above and doors closing specially when people started going to breakfast.

A great location, a good breakfast, a very nice reception service (Ms. Emily - professional, very helpful and patient - thank you for your advices !), swimming pool on the roof - small size, but with wonderful view, chill-out area, towels, and a bar with a nice service. A balcony was small 2 x 0,5 m, but enough to sit and talk, with street view, the see was also visible. Very close to St.John's Co-Cathedral, so we were frequently "passing by Caravaggio" (his 2 great paintings in the cathedral, short movie about his life and stay at Malta).

We did not know, that we booked a room without a window ! I recommend to double check when you book a room, as in Valetta, there are many of them without a window or with a small window in a bathroom. Happily there was possibility to change it with some additional money paid. We booked a room with 2 single beds, which occured a double room (easy to adjust).

The hotel was well situated and suited my needs well. it was exceptionally clean & the breakfast was extremely tasty. Staff were polite, professional & helpful. the fridge was an added bonus. The pools were compact & bijou & my only disappointment was that I did not get time to make use of them during my stay.

The lack of storage space in the bedroom. it would have helped if the bedside table incorporated a drawer. more hangers would have been useful & more shelf space for personal belongings in the bathroom would have been a welcome addition. My room looked over a side alley where the smell of the rubbish was rather unpleasant- I would not like to stay in this room during the height of the summer. On my balcony there were butt ends left from previous patrons of the hotel. I was surprised to see them when I opened the balcony door.

The hotel is located in the center, but at the same time on a quiet street. It is important that the hotel is after the reconstruction of a historical building - everything is new, clean, beautiful, tastefully decorated interior and rooftop pool overlooking the harbour. What I like most about the hotel is the staff - everyone is very friendly and genuinely willing to help. On the day of arrival, there was a lovely girl Marina, who told and showed everything. But the most interesting thing happened on the way out of the hotel and this confirmed the level of preparation and attitude towards the hotel's customers. I forgot my watch and jewelry in my room and remembered it at the airport. Everything was like in a James Bond movie. I called the hotel, after 5 minutes they collected my things, sealed them and called a taxi. The taxi left for the airport and Pyne sent me a screenshot of the route and the car. And she sent me the movement, and when the taxi arrived at the airport, I was already waiting at the entrance. I received my things 5 minutes before boarding. It was a quest and a miracle. I would like to thank Pyne from the front desk for their professionalism and excellent customer service.

Lovely room and bathroom. Wonderful roof top with a small pool and a bar and the magnificent views over the harbour and towards the 3 Cities across the water. There is a also a very smart spa with indoor pool and sauna etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. They looked after our bags on early arrival and put them in our room for us. They looked after our bags on departure day and that evening after a sweltering day out they gave us access to the shower facility in the spa area.

The breakfast is classy and includes a 'main course' that one orders from a wide variety. It is certainly ample. But the buffet section could be a bit more varied and generous eg only one type of cereal is offered each day eg instead of a small fruit salad dish a wider larger variety of melons could be offered.

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. My husband and I rented one of the balcony rooms, and the view outside made for excellent pictures. The hotel itself is clean and has a classy feel to it. There are a few places to sit and enjoy the space in the lobby, and the whole hotel is decorated with art and sculptures. It is also in a convenient place, if you don't mind walking around Valletta. Close to the bus terminal for easy access to different cities and to ferries for when you're traveling to other Maltese islands/Sicily. That said, a lot of what we did was in Valletta. Gardens, parks, historical places, museums, theaters, etc. were all within walking distance for us. It is also right next to a supermarket, so if you need toiletries or even some groceries that don't need refrigerated (fridge is very small), then you can run there quick to take care of it. Breakfast was amazing! Exceeded our expectations. When we arrived, we thought we only got the continental buffet included in the room price, but a kind waitstaff informed us we could order special meals too, like eggs Benedict, French toast, and omelets too. It allowed us to "load up" on breakfast each morning with enough energy to enjoy sightseeing around Malta till dinnertime. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. They often went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The waitstaff at breakfast time would always recommend places we could visit for the day, and would remember our names and tea/coffee preferences when we stopped by. Spa services were excellent. I was a bit unsure, given the prices (usually I pay significantly more in my home country for spa services), but the therapist was knowledgable and very skilled. I booked my services towards the end of my stay, and after walking around so much in Malta, it really helped me feel refreshed. As someone who travels frequently, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The bathroom had two issues: (1) there was no fan, so we ended up having to open our balcony doors to air out the steam, and (2) the shower water pressure would occasionally drop and leave us mid-shower with shampoo in our hair and no water to rinse it. Other than that, everything was superb!

Location is brilliant. Valletta is a small but beautiful city but there’s so much right on your doorstep staying here. Plenty of bars and restaurants round the corner. Also the Valletta food market is across the street which has a supermarket underneath it that sells all the toiletries/drinks/snacks that you usually want to pick up for the room. Room was lovely. The rooftop pool is something totally different. Sitting in a rooftop pool looking down on super yachts was a pretty cool experience. We didn’t arrive till just after midnight and staff were always really lovely.

We went for a room with a balcony which we hoped would have a bath but didn’t. But it wasn’t specified in the booking just seemed that way by the photos so can’t really complain.

The hotel is in a perfect location. You step outside and immediately into the city streets. The decor is fresh and modern without loosing the feel of this historic palazzo. The roof top has beautiful views of the harbour and has a small pool to relax in. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. After check out we had a full day before our flight and we were able to come back and use the shower facilities by the spa to freshen up which was great!

Perfect to explore the city as it is very close to the city centre. Beautiful view from the top as seen on the picture of the hotel. Classy facility. The selection for the breakfast could be bigger, but the egg benedict is superior.

We got the room for disabled persons without getting asked. To have enough space for a wheelchair the room was missing some essentials like a wardrobe. We didn't complain because we just stayed for one night and it would not have been a big deal, if they would have asked if its ok, but especially the bath dint even look close to what you see in the pictures.
