The Palazzo Paolina is in a brilliant location - walking distance to lots of Valletta's "must see" sites. We booked the suite (room 401) with a wonderful terrace. The jacuzzi wasn't working but we were told of that in advance & got a discount. It was a sun-trap which in February was great, but might not be so great in the summer. Breakfast was included and was very good - they cater for the British (bacon & eggs), the Germans (cheese & ham), other Europeans (croissant, delicious cake, bread, jam, salmon) along with tea, coffee and fruit juices. Our bedroom had tea and coffee-making facilities. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There is a lift to all floors and wheelchair accessibility into the hotel itself from the street.

Whilst we had a very large bathroom and the shower had wonderful water pressure, the water temperature veered from absolutely freezing to scalding within seconds. It was very difficult to get the temperature "just right". Our room on the top floor was relatively quiet, but our friends were on the second floor in room 202 (street facing) and said that it was rather noisy. There is a market next door so there were lorries/dustcarts unloading early in the morning and one morning, a motorist started beeping incessantly until our friend leaned out of his window and shouted at her! But I think that comment will apply to any hotel in central Valletta - I guess that's a downside to being very central.

Staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to advise us where to eat, and all their recommendations were exceptional. Also ordering us taxis and and making touring suggestions. The location was amazing- very centrally located, though not too noisy and within walking distance of practically everything.

Our room was comfortable, well lit and airy. However our friends, who also stayed at the hotel, had a room facing the back and there the air was a bit damp and since the room faced onto an airshaft (the hotel is composed of two urban palazzi attached together, it was a bit dark and odoriferous. Therefore I would suggest requesting a room facing the street and on one of the upper levels.

The stay was good, and because of the ladies at the reception. They are infinitely kind and helpful, really. The beds are very comfortable, the pillows a bit hard but it is a matter of how you like them. The location is perfect, near but far enough to not to be noisy The building is amazingly beautiful and kept care of. The rooms are clean, and by clean I mean really clean:)

The fact that it is not soundproofed, we heard the other doors and if in the other room were talking loudly. We stayed for a night, for us wasn’t that much bother with this, but maybe for longer stays

My third stay at the PP this year. Once again, I was not disappointed. The location is perfect, quiet street (St-Paul's) where the taxi can drop you off in front of the hotel. The Grand Harbour and Valletta city Centre are within 5 minutes' walk. The area is full of restaurants and bars, but the street is quiet. The staff at reception are very kind, knowledgeable and helpful, whether it be restaurants, lost luggage, places to visit or museums. The hotel itself is decorated with taste and lives up to the description of palace. My room was more like a suite, very clean, with a large bathroom. All facilities work without hitch (wifi, computer, tv). The breakfast is plentiful and served in an arched refurbished cellar, which enables you to begin your day in suitable historical settings. I will return as soon as I can. Very highly recommended.

Brussels airport lost my luggage, but there were shops close by so I was fully replenished within 30 minutes of the morning of my arrival. Nothing to do with the PP!

Very good location in the centre of Valletta, on a street where cars do drive by, but there are no noisy restaurants. Comfortable beds. Very helpful and courteous hotel staff.

The breakfast was not very varied, but there was not enough space for it, for example there are only tables for two. However, this was not a real problem, but rather the experience of a cramped basement in an old building, which was also interesting.

Beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Valletta. I was in town for a conference and it was a ~6 min walk to the conference center. But it was also ~5 minutes to lots of tourist sites, shops and restaurants. Great location. Staff were very responsive when I used the Booking site to message them about a flight delay. Room was clean, pretty, and comfortable. I loved looking out the window onto the street. The free breakfast was easy and tasty.

Everything! The staff were so lovely and the facilities were amazing! We only stayed one night because our original accommodation was horrendous and never responded to our complaint so we moved to palazzo Paolina for our last night. The beds were so comfortable the shower was amazing everything was perfect. The staff even packed us sandwiches as we had to check out at 4am and were going to miss breakfast. Definitely staying here when I come back to Malta 💗

Nothing at all!

The transfer from the airport was seamless (arriving and leaving). The location of the PP is very practical, as it is in one of the only streets in Valletta that allows cars (St.-Paul's), so you and your kit can be dropped off in front of the door. The hotel itself is very atmospheric, as it is in a very well renovated old 18th century mansion. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. All attractions are within walking distance, as is all public transport (by boat or bus). I hope to return soon!

Its a period property and it is extremely well maintained and beautiful . The rooms are quite big and all the amenities in the room are great . What i loved is the bathroom which is spacious and have a amazing shower . The staff were very friendly and most importantly helpful. They even came out to see us off . The rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good with hot and cold choices .

There was nothing that i did not like in the hotel .

The staff were very friendly. A quality breakfast was included and they made a takeaway breakfast on the morning we left (very early). The hotel was fairly well located for our purposes. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel itself was very attractive on the inside and I think most people would find it a nice place to stay in Valletta.

The noisy dog in a neighbouring property (no fault of the hotel).
