Location was perfect, right on the lagoon. I think the beds could be more comfortable and a little more beautifying details in the guest bathrooms and things through-out the property. Especially the one that's a palapa with all the single beds. It could be cleaner around the lagoon. Garbage was left there for 2 days and not any staff cleaned it up or did a morning check around the place to make sure their guests are enjoying themselves and there is no garbage. The kids enjoyed immensely.. they laughed and ran and ate and played and kayaked and we all enjoyed and loved so much this place for the camping benefit of everything..

Some details, the food could use less grease. I hope you take this email remarks of a way to improve the property. Feedback in order to improve. I will definitely be going here every summer camping with the kids!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Cayuco Maya, and I must say it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning Bacalar Lake view that greeted me, leaving me in awe of the natural beauty surrounding the hotel. The staff at Cayuco Maya went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable. They were incredibly friendly, warm, and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests or questions I had. Their genuine hospitality created a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home. One of the highlights of my stay was the vast green playground, which was an absolute delight for both adults and children alike. The well-maintained grounds provided a perfect setting for quality family time and outdoor activities. I thoroughly enjoyed playing with my kids in the open space, surrounded by lush greenery and the breathtaking lake views. It was truly a memorable experience.

I can't describe how much I like that place! It really allows you to relax and reconnect with nature. There is so much too see and to do, the lagoon is right in front of the buildings and they also "rent" the kayaks for free. It's a basic way of living and you can hear the animals while falling asleep and waking up, which for me was just Paradis, also the stars are just incredible. The staff is always friendly and makes sure you're happy. The breakfast was just insane, so many different options and a lot as well. I would definitely recommend and can't wait to be back at some point.

Restaurant closes at 5 pm, no dinner! (You can buy ingredients from them to cook and use the kitchen or do groceries before coming) It is more a place for couples, a bit lonely if you are on your own. Only one toilet? And its a bit far away from where was my dormcabaña.

Such a perfect place if you are looking for calm and peace. Everything is so quiet and the best, there is private area to swim or to do kayaking in the lake. I really loved this place that I decided prolong my stay there. At the very beginning you are able to feel the good vibes coming from the staff and the guest, besides, they are pet friendly. The bungalows are pretty cool. Everyday, the breakfast is different.

Talking about cleaning, the bathroom and toilets hygiene could be better. It is far away to the Bacalar downtown, but it is worthy arrive to the place and enjoy the place.

Situated by the beautiful Bacalar lake in the middle of nature. We didn’t move an inch from the area during our four days. You had everything you needed and great food.

Just that the owners invited to some kind of ancient/new age ceremony.

Accomodation is very basic but still good, Breakfast was really good, the location is impressive, and the facilities are good including the free usage of the canoe

Just to be picky, internet connection was a bit off, but that's expected in a more remote area

Cayuco is in a quiet and oh, so pretty spot on lake Bacalar. The family and staff that run it are super welcoming. They invited me to participate in a temazcal with them and we drank traditional chocolate made of ground cocoa beans afterwards. The site has a maloka if you want to meditate, exercise, do yoga etc. And of course the pier! The use of kayaks was free. Breakfast was included. The food is delicious. And there are cats to play with! Sunset on the lake is surreal. I had an exceptional stay.

The place is 10km out of town so you'll need to take a taxi or your own car. I walked the distance, but it's not the most picturesque of walks. The toilet in the bathroom of the shared dormitory didn't have a toilet seat. Should be an easy fix :) Mere details in the grander scheme of what this place offers. A gem!

The view, the facilities, the way you disconnect from the city and enjoy nature. The staff was awesome, the owner explained all; the boy working here was kind and great helping with some request, even animated me to use the kayak and helped me with it. The pier and the view at night was one of the things that I love. Great stay.

Probably the lack of hot water but it’s ok when it’s hot, in my stay wasn’t to hot. At least they ensure you're saving water.

Everything was perfect. this place is just perfect. Manuel, Rosita, the cats and dogs are the soul of this place. and the lagoon is the queen!
