The property was beautiful, the staff in the restaurant were absolutely amazing! And the food was absolutely superb! It was never too busy apart from in the restaurant late in the evening. Kayaking was included which was lots of fun. Room was very large and had great facilities. Very quiet and relaxed. We had an lake view room which was absolutely amazing!! Lots of space to relax on the balcony.

The restaurant could get busy in the evening and closed at 8pm. The bar also closed at 9pm but I suppose this is to create the relaxed environment as there was no noise after 10pm. The bed was extremely soft which if you like a very soft bed is great. My partner did have a bad back due to the sinking bed. Small inconveniences: Only two chairs on deck when there’s four people. Only one toilet roll.

Breakfast was very nice. Lovely setting. One of the nicest hotel rooms I have stayed in, with a most spectactular view from the balcony. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows were divine. Air con worked well, very good shower and huge bathroom/dressing area. Accommodation could not be faulted.

The overall size and layout of the site was such that the villas all seem quite close together. There are only 14 villas. Aside from the pool and the resturant/bar (which closes at 20.00 daily) there are not any other facilities aside from swimming and/or kayaking on the lake. Therefore its ideal for a relaxation / reading holiday but not if you want to be active. To get to the town, you need to go up the 2km dirt road to the main road before heading to the town. So its a little cut off.

We had the nicest stay in Khaban, we didn’t want to leave. It is such a tranquil place, you feel like the lagoon is all to yourself. The room was stunning and it felt very private with beautiful views. The staff were so kind, we have to give a special mention to Victor, he was so good to us and we really enjoyed chatting with him. The location is a little bit out of the town, which we loved as it was relaxing, we only left once to do a tour of the lagoon as we had everything we needed. Food was delicious too with lots of variety. We would 100% return here if we every got the chance.

The road leading to the property is pretty rough with potholes, but it is worth it once you get there!

A good distance from the more Tulum-like town, so you get a sense of the natural beauty of Bacalar without noise; food and service excellent. I’d definitely return.

There should be a greater sense of protecting a fragile environment; it’s a privilege to be in such a place and you could teach privileged people to not use plastic water bottles, not abuse nature, etc. A few cute signs aren’t enough. Also why play music or football on tv at the small restaurant? I’m sure most people prefer silence or nature which is why they spent time and money to get to this remote hotel. That was so annoying.

Outstanding location close to nature, very calm and relaxing, proper and spacious bungalows, extremely kind and supportive staff and free kayaks. We stayed in another hotel close to Bacalar afterwards and can confirm that it is MUCH calmer up the lake (e.g. in Khaban) than close to the city and/ or the highway.

The restaurant is overpriced without delivering price-adequate quality; as there are no other food options around, we left Khaban after 4 nights as we didn‘t want to eat there again (staff was very keen on delivering a good and caring service though). Also, the whole compound is pretty small, actually just a slim stripe to the lake. There is just one wooden patio which is the only access to the water. For us, this was ok, but others may appreciate some more space.

This is a beautiful tranquil place to spend a couple of days completely relaxing. If the sun gets too much by the small pool then retire to the shade of the palapa on the lagoon or in the hammock provided on your private deck. Do bring bug-spray as the property is bordered by greenery. We only found it a small problem after we had some afternoon rain and the breeze off the lagoon died down. Our room was spacious, kept exceptionally clean and drinking water is readily refilled at reception if you don't want to rely on bottled water. The included breakfast was substantial and is provided by the onsite Kinal restaurant where we also had some very tasty dinners. We would like to thank Victor, Antonio and Alexandra from the restaurant for their exceptional service.

Small paradise next to the Lagoon Bacalar. Amazing swimming pool and space next to it with hotel access to the lagoon. It was simply amazing. Very clean, khabanas are big and have varandas with hammock which is lovely. Water pressure in the bathroom really good, hot water, swimming pool towels etc. Nice staff. Hotel has restaurant, good food. Wi-Fi working really well.

The way to the hotel is kind of hard but since it is in the forest you can survive ;). Be careful and do not choose Google navigation way. The path will be visible with the Khaban green sign next to the road so this is the way to go :).

Small boutique hotel with friendly staff and lovely rooms. The restaurant is a ten minute drive from the town, and therefore very quit and a serene place to relax. They have a great overflow pool overlooking the lake as well as a pier with relax chairs, hammocks and great views. Paddle out on the lake and experience the quietness of nature. Super! Highly recommended. Perfect for a few days of reading and chilling.

We had a so lovely stay. Khaban is one of the most beautiful and idyllic places we have ever been. Both the location on the lake and the hotel are magical. The staff is professional, friendly and very helpful. The room is very nice, big, clean and well maintained, great bathroom. The surroundings and the views are stunning. The access to the lagoon is also very beautiful, the view of the pool with the lake is really nice, there are free kayaks available, and yoga session with a lovely teacher and on an enchanting pontoon.

Very small improvements to a wonderful hotel ! There are two roads leading to the hotel. The one that we took on day one was terrible (recommended by Google Maps!), but the second one was better. Still bumpy, but a lot better than the other one . A notice sent by the Hotel would have been welcome ! Too bad the pontoon was privatized for our last evening, we would have liked to take the opportunity to have a last drink. Next time ! The bath honey products provided by the hotel are so pleasant, we would have liked to buy them in the small hotel shop.

The views are amazing for watching the sunrise, the rooms are comfortable, big and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Facilities are great and the yoga class in the morning was perfect! amazing place to enjoy nature and come to peace. our favourite hotel in Mexico.

Only downside was the road to get there BUT it was doable and should not stop you from going to this amazing place
