The Columbus Hotel is situated in a quiet area in Fontvilles overlooking the Princess Grace Rose gardens on one side and the blue of the Mediterranean Sea on the other. A selection of very good restaurants are close by as well as a lovely English style pub with a great atmosphere which opened up at 4 pm. The Palace with all its buzz was a ten minute walk away. It too has a number of restaurants and cafes to suit most tastes. The hotel has a lovely pool nearby and we also enjoyed coffee drinks and dinner in the lovely terrace. Breakfast was good with a good selection. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much bother for them. The extra touches in the room to help us celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary were most appreciated.

Like most hotels, the individual toiletries have been replaced by refillable bottles on the walls and in the shower. My wife found these very difficult to use as they did need a bit of brute strength to work. The wonderful smell of the ‘old’ Columbus toiletries was replaced by Elemis products which were nice but could never replace for us the individual Columbus fragrance we have experienced in the past.

A beautifully decorated hotel in an exclusive area of Monaco. The room was spacious, modern, air-conditioned with balcony overlooking the garden, heliport and side view of the sea. The bathroom was large and had quality toiletries to use. It was very comfortable, clean and private. The outdoor pool was great, with complementary sunbeds and towels. The majority of the staff were friendly and helpful. We had a relaxing stay.

At times it was quite noisy due to helicopters arriving and departing throughout the day. Fun to watch, but they did begin early and continue into the evening. This hotel was meant to be a treat for us on our journey as we toured Europe by train. Unfortunately, I don't think we were the usual type of guest that stays at the Columbus and felt that we weren't greeted on arrival in a welcoming, friendly manner and also when we used the free shuttle service when we left. A beautiful hotel, but is it just for the rich?

Very nice, comfortable room, classy decor, good atmosphere, very friendly staff at reception and concierge. Good parking, a little outside of the centre, but only a short walk to shopping or the palace. Bus station close by.

Everything was good, it's just expensive. Don't get me wrong, it's quite good value for Monaco, but to stay in the principality is inevitably expensive. Same goes for car parking. Monaco is not for people on a budget, neither is this hotel. But cpmpared to others, the rate is decent.

The sea view room was amazing and the concierge staff were always very friendly and ready to assist! The decor of the hotel was lovely.

The breakfast staff are very grumpy and the tables aren’t cleared and reset for new customers. The hot breakfast included in the price is limited! Upon arrival I had Prosecco and fruits in my room but by the time we were finished and left everything outside our door no one came to collect it and the cleaning staff left it there too, for our entire stay! No English channels on tv even if it’s just one.

Loved the location as it is in a lovely complex and made you feel the true monaco experience away from the commercial and tourist areas, yet walking distance to everything. Many restaurants and amazing marina views just foot steps away. Overall great value for money, definitely recommend anyone to stay here and looking forward to my next visit. And if I must highlight, the valet staff was beyond friendly and helpful!

The gym isnt really equipped with the basics such as dumbells so not sure how useful was that.

The hotel is great in every respect, the location is excellent, the service is excellent and helpful, the whole hotel is clean, the service in the restaurant is excellent.

The only minus was that we had breakfast bought in the price on the spot, it turned out that the omelette is paid. After 2 days we realized that the card says that English breakfast is included in the price.

The highlight of our stay at Hotel Columbus was by far the staff and the location. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly, but Marc from Guest Services went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Although the location of the hotel was at the opposite side of Monaco from the main purpose of our trip, it was easy to get around by public transport, walking, escalators, and with the hotel shuttle that saved us a lot of time and brought us to the entrance to the venue (again thanks to Marc). The room was very spacious and there was plenty of well-placed plugs and USB outlets. We were impressed that the staff went so far as to bring our luggage to our room, once it was ready and while we were out, and that we were left chocolates marking the Easter festivities. The small touches really set this hotel apart. The cleanliness of the hotel in both private and public spaces made us feel comfortable. Access to a walking area right along the waterfront and the calmness of the Rosarie Princesse Grace are lovely places to go for a stroll at any time of day, but we took advantage of this in the morning sunshine after our delicious breakfast.

The only thing that surprised me was that the bathroom in the room seemed a bit dated. But it was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The shower was great and the scent of the products was divine.

First, we arrived ahead of time and the staff made everything in their capacity for the room to be ready before the official check-in timing which was much appreciated. The room was on a high floor as requested with a balcony and amazing views on the Princess Roseraie and the sea. Plus we went out for a little site seeing with the children and when we got back to the hotel they had prepared a little surprise snack in the room for the little ones with fresh juice, some crepes and cakes. Amazing gesture and totally unexpected. Overal a short but amazing stay in a very nice hotel. Thanks again to the team and kuddos to Anthony Mazzoni the Front Desk Manager who treated us like family!

Only negative points for me are the swimming pool which is outside of the hotel and not easilly accessed nor to the standards of the rest of the facilities and perhaps the limited dining options.

I checked in to the Hotel Columbus after Checking out and leaving after one night in a very unkept hotel in Brasilia. My find of the Columbus Hotel was Heaven Sent … I checked in for three nights, I was so impressed with the location, rooms size and comfortable which included a very sizable terrace with an incredible City, partial Sea view and the Wonderful Rose Garden below.. Bath & Shower room was also very spacious and Very clean!! The next morning I added three more nights to my stay… The swimming pool and Pool Assistant Marco was very friendly and very knowledgeable of the Monaco area and also gave me plenty of suggestions for my next stop in Rome!! If you get the chance to speak with Marco, don’t pass it up !! Jim B. Oregon USA

All was Good!!

My husband became unwell the on the second night of our stay. The hotel staff were so accommodating which made our extended stay less stressful. The location was fabulous beside two harbours, it was a short scenic stroll to very nice restaurants. The hotel had a lovely restaurant also. I would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to going back in the future.
